I have mixed feelings on whether the Trump administration should respond to Democrats for the lengthy lawfare campaign they waged against him. Two wrongs don't make a right. But on the other hand, it's almost a certainty that the Democrats will continue to wage war against Trump by any means necessary when they get the opportunity. When we talk about governments spending borrowed money, it's not really a cut if they decide to reduce that allocated budget. If they were initially planning to borrow 2 billion, then later decide to borrow only 1.5 billion, it's debatable whether it's really a cut as opposed to a spending reduction. They are still overspending at the end of the day.

But the DOJ didn't charge him. And if all of these allegations were true, wouldn't that mean that Gaetz is a Republican version of Hunter Biden? The same Hunter Biden that was portrayed as a poor victim by the media?

My point was that politicians and media pundits should not be calling half of Americans stupid for not supporting the Democrats. That sentiment is right in line with things Hillary and Biden said about Trump supporters. A lot of those same people voted Democrat in 2020 but clearly were not happy with 4 years of Biden/Harris. When voters are disparaged like that, it won't endear them to the candidate who is trashing them.

There are a lot of people that refused to give a certain Donald Trump the presumption of innocence when Democrat prosecutors starting piling charges on him.

It's a leftist's dream to ban all political opposition instead of letting voters decide.
