When it comes to a pension, future earnings of the company or pension contributions by current and future employees should be off limits to past employees period. If I was an employee of a company that saw my pension contributions going to pay the pensions of past employees I would be upset. I would be irate that present company income is going to pay those pensions when the company should have been divested of those employees when they left the company. Any company money going to pay prior employee pensions is a fraud to present employee's bonuses, wages and shareholder dividends. Why should current employees and shareholders subsidize pensions out of current company revenues and profits? If I worked at company and I knew this was happening and this was made out to be an excuse why wages and bonuses was reduced I would encourage a class action lawsuit of modern employees with current shareholders against the former employees to get injunction to get them off the company books. A judge can figure out what they are entitled to get while they were employed with company and the state of the pension fund when they retired. Whatever their share of that fund at that time will be established cheque issued to send those former employees on their merry way.

Commodity based companies have no business being on the TSX. These are companies that define a "developed" Country. When a stock exchange has these companies and the index is growing shows a country is on the right track. Canada's decent into a resource economy can be linked to the Banking Sector. When the Banks were aloud into the Insurance and Broker business I have personally saw my auto insurance go up 100% and the Banks have single handedly ruined the Toronto Stock Excange and the Unlisted markets with there lofty attitudes towards the mobilization of capital. The TSX has become overly weighted resource type companies and other questionable companies. Actually, I have posted this beef on this forum elsewhere. I was broadsided by the Harper Conservatives in their policy of work permits. The company I was at, brought in a person from another office on a work permit and made him manager over my department and budget. This prick began to willfully frustrate my employment and outsource my work so he can save money on his budget. This prick resorted to tactics that were contrary to the labour laws to drive me out of my employment and he and this company got away with it (Where was the Government??). After losing my well paying job I was thrown into looking for employment and I have found myself bouncing from one temporary position to another. At some of these companies there are people who have just come to Canada and can barely speak english. At alot of other companies I have worked for prior to this conservative broadside I have worked with many individuals who just came to Canada on work visas. Often these individuals speak very little English and have a different cultural makeup. From a company point of view these economic migrants are tools to exploit in driving down wages and working conditions or in my prior employers case their dirty work. So I am acutely aware for every job I apply to whether it be temporary or full time I am not just competeing with my Canadian Countryman I am competing for those jobs with the world. Name one other country that puts the interests of foreigners over the interests of its own people?
