1. Johnson said that he "respects the law". (Yet he clearly disagrees with homosexual behaviour.)
2. Johnson believes that America is exceptional - protected by God. (Yet we now live in a multi-polar world.)
====
Johnson is no Tip O'Neill. He's not even a Newt Gingrich. At best, this Johnson is a Gerald Ford.

As a Canadian, travelling abroad, I've always liked quoting Gerald Ford's first speech: "I'm a Ford - not a Lincoln."
I watched this interview:
Two points struck me:
1. He respects the law.
2. He believes America is exceptional.
=====
On both points, he is lying.
1. Homosexuals have the right to be.
2. We must live in a multi-polar world.
Canada is a federal state.
At the central government, we have two official languages - our federal state bureaucrats must be able to speak to us in French and English.
We have no official state cultural. Canada is a multicultural state.
In 1993, Mulroney walked away - it was a disaster.
In 1979, Trudeau Snr stayed on. It worked.
In 1984, he walked away - disaster.
In 2015, Harper stayed. It was not a disaster.
The CPPIB and the Caisse are paper claims on real resources.
Foolish people in Norway believe that - because of their savings - Norwegians will never have to work again. The Norwegian pension fund has some US $1.5 trillion - our Quebec fund is close.

My cat too will have food next morning.
Disagree.
If ordinary Albertans want to work in Quebec, they should be free to do so.
And their work should have a similar federal State pension system.
Years ago, the Maple Leaf Forum was simple.
As someone in Quebec, this forum allowed me to discuss federal Canadian politics from a different perspective.
(At the time, there was a French-language forum: but that's another story.)

Maybe Re:Politics (Maple LeaF Forum) should return to its root.
I am open-minded. And this forum is a private venue.
If I find a topic discussion thread objectionable - and I want nothing to do with re:politics, what do I do?
The Caisse paid for the REM.
Maybe a similar Alberta pension scheme could build a Calgary-Edmonton rail system.

Ordinary people put aside, delay consumption. They save for the future - they give-up now so their kids will have more.
As a young man, centuries ago, my English was not good. I worked in various parts of Canada.
Older, retired, I was surprised to learn that my work there counted.

If you work in Alberta or Quebec, it should count.
