Is this true? I find this hard to believe that anyone would do this or that a school would allow this to happen at all. Even if abortion is legal this is just morally and ethically wrong on so many levels. Sad.

I liked your post WB. Nice retort by Preston...lol. Everything the CPC does is under a microscope by the media but you're right they allow the Liberals a lot more leeway. Except when Adscam was the hot issue then every media outlet was killing them, it was great. The CBC won't even allow certain conservative personalities on their debate panels...outrageous as we pay for this network with tax dollars.

That really is sad to see children die. Conditions need to improve on reserves for sure but having multiple blockades isn't helping them win any favour with the public so don't expect it anytime soon.

Suspected Terrorists Arrested in Toronto
Qwerty replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Charges being stayed is not the same as charges being withdrawn. If these 7 people get in any sort of trouble at all these charges can be brought back against them. Also, do you guys know what these other 11 are doing? They each have their own counsel(legal aid I might add, so we are footing the bill!) and there are 26 million pages of evidence, that's why it is taking so long to bring this to trial. They are doing this on purpose so they can appeal and say that the failed to get a timely trial. It's all a game. -
Canadian's Attitudes Towards Immigrants
Qwerty replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly. -
When the Adscam claims came out the Liberals said that it was a smear tactic by the CPC. Same difference except the CPC didn't steal millions of tax payer dollars. EC seems to think that there is a problem with the CPC's books about how they spent some of their advertising money or how they accounted for it. It's just party politics, nothing more. Everyone does it, that's how they play the game.

RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Qwerty replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Dion is a very weak leader to begin with and Harper will thrash him in any debate they have due to Harper having more umphh and sense of conviction than Dion. Dion is a weak speaker as well, he doesn't have any charisma to make people want to listen to him he doesn't inspire confidence. He is better in french but just barely. Ignatiaff and Rae are already posturing for the role of leader when Dion steps down after he loses the next election anyhow. Typical Liberal regicide, gotta love it. -
I meant to say France not Europe, sorry. Europe will be 10% Muslim. There are 56 million Muslims in Europe right now. Jews were persecuted by every nation before WWII, even Canada. Nobody would allow them into their nations, wel it was difficult for them to enter new nations to be sure. After WWII and Germany, not Europe, that changed or they would probably still be in the same position previous to WWII. Today jews hold a lot of power and can influence a lot of the vote, why do you think so many political parties pander to them, certainly it isn't to be pc that would be extremely naive. Everyone is starting to make some nice points though. Europe shaped it's multicultural polices around Canada's as we were the first nation to try this out but it is an old policy made in a different time, in a very different world and needs updating. That is the point I'm trying to make.

ABC Clinton/Obama debacle.
Qwerty replied to Carinthia's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I thought the debate was pretty good. Both made some good points. Obama looked more presidential in my opinion. It looked like Clinton was trying too hard to look the part whereas Obama was more at ease imho. Obama seems to have the ear of the people and that is a good thing. I think he'd make a good president as he is young as has some really good ideas. I like the fact that he wants to end the bickering and get down to make his country and its people better as a whole. I wish we'd do that in Canada instead of the constant oneupmanship that we have in Canada that all parties are guilty of. They need some fresh new bright ideas and I think that Obama could give them that whereas McCain would probably toe the line and not buck the current tide too much but I could be wrong as McCain is very Liberal for a Rep. It is going to be a tight race right down to the wire for these primaries for sure. McCain is just sitting back and letting Clinton and Obama do his dirty work and honestly I don't blame him. He's just gathering ammo for the presidential race. Don't count out the GOP though. People are most likely saying that because of the spotlight being on the Dem.'s right now. That will change once the racer for the white house begins. That will be just as close imho. Btw McCain is almost as liberal as Clinton is anyhow and the Democrats as a whole are more like the CPC than the Liberals of Canada if their policies were compared. American politics as a whole are more right wing in general than they are here. -

I hear what you are saying Black Dog, I sincerely do and to a degree you have a point. The population of these Euro countries are lower than here, therefore there is a higher ratio of muslims to Euros. This fact cannot be ignored as it is significant because this is the point when things erupt. Yes, it is a recent happening but if current trends continue how can we ignore their recent history that they have achieved in such a short time? ALL MUSLIMS? No, absolutely not. You didn't mention this but I'll add it. Some are willing to integrate and live peaceful lives here in Canada but many are not. Europe is having a huge problem noe with muslims not willing to integrate, the same will follow here, we cannot ignore it. We learn from history and this is what recent history is telling us. The US muslim example is flawed Black Dog as they have a much larger population than a smaller Euro nation where muslims have 10% of the population... Islamic extremism is here and we must6 be prepared to move on it or be crushed by it. Left wingers don't like facists? Well fill your boots because facism is here in abundance!

Absolutely. We should also fingerprint and store the DNA of all new immigrants.

Canada was one of the first nations in the world to officially adopt a policy of multiculturalism, but at the same time Canada has been notoriously unable to achieve national unity through the assertion of a cultural identity. In turn, this has led to the demand for special recognition and for special exemption from the law because of such issues as race, ethnicity, and gender. According to Schlesinger (1992), Canada has failed to make multiculturalism work because, unlike America, it has failed "to give ethnically diverse peoples compelling reasons to see themselves as part of the same nation" (p. While Kymlicka (1996) insists that the special treatment given to minorities in the name of cultural retention do not contradict the liberal values of individual freedom and equality for all. In Canada, for example, the establishment of the Constitution Act in 1982 has resulted in many people identifying themselves more with others exactly like themselves than with national culture as a whole. oup rights in an effort to promote cultural retention in immigrant populations. It is, however, a major weakness of his argument that he completely fails to explain how individual rights can be acceptably linked to group rights. The special recognitions and exemptions such as Sikh Mounties not having to wear the same hat as other Mounties is what is meant by cultural retention. In order for the conflicts and potential chaos of multicultural programs of cultural retention to be avoided or resolved the only hope seems to be assimilation, but without a national culture or identity Canada has failed in most cases at assimilating newcomers. The recent shift away from multiculturalism that Joppke (2004) notes does not imply a return to the traditional liberal policy of assimilation, but it does recognize the need for newcomers to commit themselves unconditionally to a minimum of liberal democratic principles. http://www.megaessays.com/viewpaper/29094.html

Well by your own analogy isn't not granting polygamy against the Charter of rights and freedoms then? It is part of their religion so it should be allowed right? This is the problem that allowing gay marriage started, how can you say no to polygamy now?

The evidence is overwhelming NYC, London, Madrid, Murdered Author in the Netherlands, death threats against the Netherlander who made the film Fitna, death threats against a Danish cartoonist, Riots in France, Riots in England, bombings of countless embassies and ships. These are heads of state making these threats btw. I don't know how many threats were stopped before they could blow up whatever....The Toronto TSE, a few Air Canada jets, other US planes...the first WTC bombing....and the list goes on. Yeah what was I thinking these people are very peaceful...
-
I'm starting to think that you have a crush on me...what, the way you follow me around and post right after me all the time ...lol...
-
It is going to happen. Not if but when. Every single non traditional muslim country they have populated has had problems with them. That is fact. What makes you think that Canada will escape the trouble?
-
It won't be long til people can have Sharia law and marry their hockey sticks...the brilliant looney left strikes again. They opened the door with this gay marriage crap.

RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Qwerty replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It won't matter if it's true or turns out to be nothing. Once the cops bust down your door on TV it doesn't matter what the outcome is, the damage has already been done. -
You are stating that number from 2001. The one I am stating is from 2006. Preliminary estimates for Census 2006 point to a figure of almost 800,000. [17] The community is expected to grow to 1.1 million by 2011 and 1.4 million by 2017. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Canada

Why is this not being covered by the media?
Qwerty replied to Qwerty's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
I don't candy coat things. Call it what you want. I emailed all the major news outlets and got no response...thought there might be an agenda there to suppress the truth. -
Yeah you're right wiki says in 2006 it is around 800,000 so a couple more years we must be close to 900,000. The 944,000 number is from the Netherlands, my apologies, I am posting on more then one forum at a time.
-
They are sitting at 944,000 currently. They are saying it will go up by 160% by 2017. Those numbers will likely go up if immigration trends continue plus there birthrate is very high.

It just seems wherever muslims settle, trouble soon follows. As witnesses in NYC, in London, in Madrid at the various embassies. Once the muslim population gets to 10% or up of the total population in any given country, trouble begins. Canada will not be immune to this either and to think otherwise seems awfully naive.
