Well once again we have a deflection into the world of hate. Is it any surprise? So let me interpret my post for those who have problems understanding the nuances of simplicity. There are environments in which people who rise up against oppression are labelled as terrorists. Some day it might even be us. Or you. Or a Moslem in Srebonica. A black African in Somalia. A Tibetan in the Olympic country (trying to get you banned from the Olympics here MLW), or a Palestinian in the occupied territories? There was time when it would have been a man on a horse on the road near the North Church Tower. There. Now do you get my point? A simple thank you will suffice.

What exactly is the new world order?

This is the thing. Conservatives go for the really big ticket items. War. Tax cuts. In that order. Two very expensive items. The Tories promised a tax cut to get into office and now the economy is biting them in the testoosie. Too bad, boys. You lose. A country with a debt is a country enslaved. Our biggest single goal must be to shed ourselves of debt. As long as we are in debt, our souls are on the block. Don't believe me? Look at Bell. Look at Inco. You think we're any different? We sell our bonds into the same markets that these guys sold their stock and we both do it for one reason: to finance operations. You love our air? You love our water? You love our open spaces? You just wait. This is the new world order, no matter what you might hear from the idiots inside the Beltway. And look who has all the money.

At least not until the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Now we're getting somewhere.

I agree. The media is very biased. Not only in the US. Have you ever looked at the Toronto Sun (Brian Mulroney, Chairman of the Board). There are very very few neutral players on the media scene. Look into the history of any North American media outlet and the chances are you will find a Citizen Kane. An ugly yellow journalist with a bully politician standing behind him. God bless Teddy Roosevelt. And by the way. Is Puerto Rico a state yet? Just remember that one of our most successful media barons is now a convicted felon serving time. Pick up any issue of Macleans. You'll find his little wifey pining away for her Marie Antoinette costume. Thank heavens the boomers are retiring. It takes a lot of free time to do the reading needed to figure out the media is just one big load of crap.

No I am not a Newfoundlander. My knowledge of the issue is from watching TV and reading the paper, sources of information that I admit are dodgy. So I ask for enlightenment and that's wrong? No wonder we have so many klowns on this forum.

Homeland Security didn't exist then. What happened was that airline security was spectacularly innefffective. What we have here is a classic case. A neighbourhood intersection is notorious for pedestrian kills. The neighbours clamour for a cross-walk, only to be ignored. One day a whole kindergarten full of kids gets mowed down by a drunk. Laird thundering' Jaysus! Homeland Security in a nutshell. Just think how different he world would be right now if those idiots had not been able to get access to the flight deck. Just sayin'

OK. What are their objections? Lets sit down and work something out. Is the seal hunt unnecessarily cruel? I have no idea. What would be a humane way to go about things? This is a tough issue. You can go into any supermarket in North America or Europe and find veal (just for starters). Maybe it's time to sneak a few cameras into the slaughterhouses of Europe. So far, I've seen a lot of heat and not a lot of light on this issue.
