Yes. The ignore feature. I have used it to tune you out in the past and you are squandering your second chance, Bubba. So where were the PalestIndians? Well. where were the Geneva Conventions? Canada is negotiating its responsibilities with the aboriginal community. It is a long, slow, painful, and very expensive process. Ditto for Australia. Where is the USA in this and when will Israel come to terms with its 'aboriginal claims'?

Petition for the Queen to open 2010 Olympics
HisSelf replied to g_bambino's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What a load of codswallop. The Olympics should be opened by the Prime Minister. The Queen doesn't even have a seat on the Olympic Committee. I think the Queen is a nice lady. I think it's great that the Brits have a Queen. Why in the name of hell do we need one? As for the Governor General, I think we are missing a big opportunity. I'd like to see this position morph into some sort of diplomatic service ombudsman. OK, not some idiot cabinet minister, but somebody with the same sort of weight as a Supreme Court judge. An experienced diplomat appointed for a limited but specific length of time and with the kind of profile that is needed to protect us when we are abroad. -
I think slavery is a great idea Argus and I now designate you as my personal slave. Is there anybody here who will help me whip Argus if he does not do what I tell him?

Ha ha. So here are the legits of the creation of Israel: a move by the US in the UN General Council (yes folks, that same UN General Council that gets so slandered these days); secondment from Russia (yes, folks, that anti-semite nation). On the other hand, we have the birth of Canada at Confederation. "Where was the UN?", enquiring minds want to know. Come to think of it, where was the UN in 1776? Damn, were they not there at the storming of the Bastille? The signing of the Magna Carta? Jeez. The UN really needs some work.

Ha ha. Good one. So would the Ariel Sharon invasion of Israel in the 1980s qualify for full blown? Damned right it would. And guess what? Hezbollah is in the history books as a result. So thousands of civilians in Lebanon need to die whenever an Israeli soldier (empasize the word soldier here) gets taken prisoner? Oh sorry. The politically correct word is kidnapped. Oy vey. Is it really possible to kidnap a soldier? I think not. I love the coverage of the exchange we are seeing here in the west. We have the dramatic pics of the bodies of the Israeli soldiers in two black coffins. We have the wailing and gnashing of teeth. The rending of garments in full six o'clock news coverage. We have the videos of the dirty rotten scoundrels who were returned to Lebanon LIVE. We have had, as far as I have been able to find, one single video moment (you had to be tuned in at just the right moment to see it) showing the CONVOY of Israeli trucks returning Lebanese and Palestinian bodies to Lebanon - also part of the exchange. Oy vey.

Marc Emery on the Police State
HisSelf replied to DrGreenthumb's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Oh brother. You know, the Fraser Institute just put out a study in which it told us all about economic freedom. Don't you just love that word freedom? (http://www.fraserinstitute.org/newsandevents/news/5732.aspx) The BC marijuana business is worth (by various estimates) some $6 billion. Marc Emery is fond of saying that if marijuana were legal in the US, it would be legal everywhere. White Doors, if this is too much economics for you, then just have another beer and leave the topic to those of us who think this is more than just a bunch of silly hippies. This is big business. -
No. I encouraged you to go to an independent source and do your own homework. I have backed up many, many of the statements I've made here with full citations. You, on the other hand.... Anyhoo, since you seem to need spoon feeding mister ungrad, how about ABC news? This item came out at the top of a google search. You know how to use Google don't you? Just type in your terms and click search. It's easy. Even you can do it.... http://www.abcnews.go.com/Business/PainAtT...tory?id=5345255 But I'm sure you can see the idiocy now. I know I do...

Albert Einstein says 'Belief in God 'childish,'
HisSelf replied to kuzadd's topic in Religion & Politics
My take is that religion is just the fireplace musings people come up with when science runs out of answers. Not because science might not have an answer, but because science hasn't gotten there yet. So many centuries of god and what have we to show for it? Would god have stood by at Paeschendale with his arms folded? Let Stalin get away with his crimes? Would a heart attack have been so hard to engineer (or maybe better a stroke). Hitler? The Shah? Pol Pot? The Quomintang? The Burmese Junta? Cancer? Multiple Sclerosis? Spam? LOL. When science proves god, then I will believe in god. -
Yes it was very bad. How long do you think it wil be before the average Iranian is going to forget that it ahppened? Not in our time is my guess. Sure I'll back it up. Get a chart of the last couple of weeks for the price of oil. Superimpose it on a timeline showing the Israeli/Iranian dialogue. Voila.

Well where do I start? First of all we have a state that is dedicated to the dominance of one ethnic group. We have a Housing and Immigration policy that consistently welcomes and financially supports that ethinic group at the expense of any other. We have a justice system that functions very effectively except when the favoured ethnic group decides to take land it is not entitled to from an unfavoured ethnic group by means that are illegal by international and Israeli law. We have attacks on neighbouring countries that kill tens of thousands with trumped up justifications. We have meddling in the internal affairs of those countries. We have a water resource policy that requires a huge military presence to enforce. We have a bully that constantly needs support from the most powerful economy in the world and uses that to constantly take more than its share. We have a country that uses collective puncshment to deny even the most basic humanitarian needs from a people who have been impoverished as a direct result of its creation. We have an 'ally' whose secret agents have been caught forging our passports and spying on our military and industry. Voila. Israel.

The worst Iranian regime for brutally torturing Iranians (and we are talking really brutal torture) was the US puppet regime of the Shah. The stuff that SAVAK pulled was like the worst Steven King movie you've ever seen. And they learned it all from the CIA.

What a load of codswallop. Who had nukes first? It wasn't Iran. It wasn't Iraq. Who was it it? I saw a great movie the other day: Thirteen Days. It was about the Cuban Missle Crisis. What it showed was Jack and Robert Kennedy (and I am not a great Kennedy fan) trying to figure out what the hell the Russians were up to while the US Chiefs of Staff were hollering for the US to just nuke everybody. Where would we be right now if those morons had gotten their way? Try to think with more than your pineal eye, Wild Bill.

Is Israel a free nation now? Maybe for religious wackos. ertainly not for everybody. Is Iraq a free nation now? According to who? Former oil company executive Condy Rice? How about former oil company exec, Dick Cheney? Former oil company exec George Bush? The guy who runs Blackwater? Who has killed the most babies in Iraq, Argus? Saddam? Bush? Is there any way to even know he answer? What a joke. I'm defending Mugabe. No, Argus, I am calling you on your statement that nobody is questionning Zimbabwe based on the fact that you are one of the biggest Israel apologists extant on this board. This is a favourite Israel apologist tactic "Why do you attack poor Israel and you don't attack this little pissant trouble making region?" We are all supposed to go postal over every issue you deem important just because we won't go along with Israel's crap. You want to start a thread on Zimbabwe then do so. The fact that you never have is telling. Zimbabwe, just like every other sphere of injustice, is just another venu for people like you to use in your wrong-headed defence of Israel's constant violation of the most basic principles of international law (oh wait. I forgot. An Israeli supreme court justice says it's OK some of the time). Argus, there are a lot of people who are tired of being on high alert because of idiots like Ariel Sharon and Bibi. Suck it up.

A way for "people like us" to contribute
HisSelf replied to geoffrey's topic in The Rest of the World
Clinton's solution for the Middle East made him look like an idiot. My definition of people like us does not include Bill Clinton. The guy is just another American/Israeli hegamonist. -
Jeez for a monent I thought you were talking about Dick Cheney. So here's a quick quizz: who has killed more babies in Iraq? Dick Cheney or Saddam Hussein?

Why should I care that Iran is threatening Israel? What am I missing here? Am I supposed to give a damn what happens to Israel? Can somebody tell me why? Israel makes its own problems and then comes running to the West for protection. We have our own problems. Israel's had fifty years and all its managed to do is piss everyone off. Right now oil is at $145 and at least $5 of that is because of Israel's bellicosity. You like that word? I got it from former oil company executive, Condy Rice.

I'm amazed. I agree with two out of three! Healthcare. Yes private care, but let's study what happened with Dental Insurance. We ended up with a lot of dentists milking private dental plans for all they were worth. Immigration. Bang on. Let's absorb the unemployed first. Immigration is too much of an easy fix. But.... Three judges versus a jury. Two words for those of you who believe in entirely instutionalized justice: Steven Truscott. OK. Maybe four words. Robert Balkovitch. Oh wait. Six words... Communist China. O wait, eight words.... Justice is too important to seal off to a bureaucracy. I'd like to add another: The Supreme Court. If it comes to a choice between having a Supreme Court and Steven Harper, I say so long Mr. Harper. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.

So what is the difference between...

Cheney is an abomination that will not go away. Dick Cheney is the Jack Ruby of American foreign policy. -
Steyn on the future of Western society
HisSelf replied to White Doors's topic in Religion & Politics
Very sad to come back to this thread and see that it is still about "Muslims". There are hundreds of millions of very peaceful Moslems in India, Indonesia, Morocco, Malaysia, Canada, the US.... In fact everwhere... And yet so much focus is constantly put on those who have been radicalized by regimes that none of us would tolerate, even for a minute: The Shah (US backed), the Taliban (US created), Hezbollah (Israeli response), Hamas (Israeli response)... After two hundred years of western meddling in Central Asia and the Middle East, many still do not have a friggin clue. I doubt there is one in one hundred who knows who Mossadeq was. So sad. Too bad. -
I once went up a tributary of the Satween on a border patrol agent shift change boat from Chiang Mai into Burma and I have to say it's the same there, although these guys were taking fares from local farmers to ride through the boundary with their sacks of uninspected whatevers. Everybody was more focussed on not getting wet. Mind you, this was not at 'harvest' season, when a sane man would be safely ensconced in Bangkok. LOL.
-
Ha ha. Love it.

On CBC Sunday, Mark Steyn's regrettable anti-Moslem screed was featured. Alan Borovoy, founder of the "Canadian Civil Liberties Union" was quoted as saying that a right to condemn must be a part of the Canadian Dialectic. So have at it folks. Anybody or anything you would like to condemn? Alan Borovoy will defend you... Sure he will...

What a sad thread. Started by a well known Israel supporter. Zimbabwe came to his attention not because of its injustices, but because he wonders why we all don't just focus on Zimbabwe and leave Israel alone. Why is it that every thread by Israel supporters like you and M.Dancer turns into a discussion about Israel? No, Israel is not inside the Beltway, Argus. It is a little pissant country in Africa. Or is it Asia? Statistics Canada is a little vague about that but one thing is clear: it is not anywhere inside our borders or inside the borders of any of our major trading partners. Bogus Manor has a bed for you, Argus. Suck it up and have a nice day.

What can I say? Lucy never visted Rickey in the pen. She shacked up with (what's his name?). I'm guessing she's been holding out for Julian. Oh wait, we're talking Babs here. So who is Babs angling for? Is she sitting at home knitting a new wig that she and the Bishop can wear to the next ball? Hey Babs. Your man had his appeal denied. Suck it up. The royalties will pay for a house somewhere, but if your favourite felon ever gets past our border, it will only be by accident. So let's see what your future might be. Yer favourite felon is a citoyen of Britain. You are a citoyenne of Canada. The felon has been convicted and jailed in the good old USofA. Good luck in Israel Babs. No doubt there is a piece of land in the territories reserved for the two of you. Right next to the one Bogus Manor is camped on. Named in the Roman fashion no doubt: Felonia. Once owned by some poor Palestinian who never harmed a soul and now has been told he and his family are a security threat. Just for you Babs. Just for you.

Yeah. I've had enough of you, JBG.
