I am but a simple uneducated guy who has run his business in the black all my life. I brought my kids up in a house some would say was too small but like my Mom said ,kids are stackable. Now they have flown the coop and my Mrs . and I have a house plenty large enough. We never bought new cars or toys we could not pay cash for. We never took vacations we could not pay cash for. I never had a credit card till I was in my middle fifties and have had a bank card for seven years that I have never used. Why should I a simple man in his later years be bailing out those who would not give me the time of day because of dirt into my hands that will never come out from time and toil?

What did he die? Hillier wants to take some time for himself. He did a great job and he can be proud. But he is not dead yet and I am sure we will see more of him in the future.

I agree that we as a country allowed foreign factory ships to destroy the fishing. We stood back and said nothing and did nothing. It was a crime against nature. As far as seals are concerned they are not in danger of extinction in anyway from the sealers. Maybe from starvation ,but not sealers.They need to be culled if the Cod is ever to make a comeback. The Cod fishery should be closely monitored and shut down if thats what it takes. We have a responsibility to nature and to species to husband them well. All governments in Canada have been to afraid of East coast votes to do the right thing. As for Watson , he comes off as someone quite mad on TV! I think he is in need of a good medium rare steak smothered with onions.

Apparently you did not watch CTV after his resignation during questioning and reporters after the news conference. They were the ones perpetuating that Hillier was being forced out by Harper. I don`t see where Hillier gave any indication that he would be seeking political office under the CPC banner.

Gen. Hillier was a class guy tonight on TV. The anti Conservative media tried their damndest to get him to say something derogatory about Harper. He would have none of their nonsence. Soon as the interview was over the talking media heads and opposition were going on about he was being forced out because of a rift with Harper. So who is willing to say that the General was not telling the truth? The media and oppositon are in their quest to vilify Harper are in reality calling Hillier a liar. Now about Canadian troops involvement with NATO forces in Europe. The brigade we had there was a well trained force second to none. They Cold War was always looming over us at that time. The Berlin Wall and Cuban missel crisis were a time of great concern for those stationed there. The nation has never recognized the deterrant to war that Brigade represented.

Prime Ministers must be very careful about going to heads of state asking for clemency. Chrtien did that for one of his Pals in a Pakistan jail and got him released. Father Kahder once released got himself killed fighting Canadian allies and his kid sits in an American prison for murdering an American Medic..

I played the game till I was 45. I had lots of fights over the years ,but I never used my stick as a weopon and I never brutalized anyone I had at my mercy nor did I punch anyone who did not indicate we had a mutual agreement. By the way I think I lost more than I won. But what the Roy kid did was assault! No question about it and it was disgraceful. The other Kid never left his crease. He just stood there showing no indication of being a willing participant. Roy should be charged by authoritys the same as if he mugged you or I on the street.

Now lets get this straight, this Gal goes on an expose show and crys her eyes out that the Canadian Government is not doing anything for her and tells her side of the story of why she is in jail in Mexico. OK ,thats just fine. She certainly was not hiding anything and her privacy was not an issue,until she is found not to be telling the whole truth! Now her privacy has been breached! One thinks one can protest just a little too much. When I first watched her story I was appalled at her situation but as facts have come out and her behaviour towards those who have tryed to help have been rebuffed, I have much less sympathy for this Gal. Privacy was thrown out when she went on TV claiming her innocence. She set her self up for investigation of facts. I think that she has lost a lot of sympathy since that original show aired or their would have been far more people out today in her support.

Here we had the looney right meeting the looney left and guess what? There is not much difference that I can see! Frick and Frack are both against NAFTA! Does anybody else think there is a resemblance between Handsome Jack and everybodys favourite historical commie, Lenin?

Disturbing to be sure,especially the narrater. He is a sick chap. But back to the beatings. Don`t blame the Lads for roughing up those kids. Maybe their parents might start restraining them from their gang activitys. Now lets say these fine young Islamists got one of those Brit soldiers down , would the Brit be alive today? Can you see the difference? I can see the difference!

Israel has won every war the Arab world has started. The Arab world still exists. If Israel ever loses a war ,they will cease to exist and the Nazi holocaust will pale in comparison.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my Son one day. We were talking about rights. He asked if it was true that he did not have to identify himself to a Cop if he was peacefully walking down the side walk! I told him he was absolutely right. But what if the Cop is looking for a bad guy who fits his discription? Why tie up the Cop from pursueing the bad guy? What if he found out later that the bad guy had raped and murdered someone he loved? Do we not as citizens have a responsibility to help our police in apprehending bad guys by insuering the police we are not the culprit? Yes we have rights,but we also have a responsibility to our fellow citizens to do our part in keeping the peace.

Good on the Lad. Like his family have always done. Their duty ,in times of trouble. Never shirkers.

As a small business man ,this holiday is a financial hardship. In my business Febuary is the slowest month of the year for me. One less day of productivity makes it harder to make a payroll. I struggle not to lay people off! They have bills to pay and I like to reward loyalty but this makes it harder to endure.

I am a man ,and like all men I do not understand women and their emotions. I believe in womens rights to choose, but along with rights there comes responsibilitys. Aborting a child so long in a pregnancy is goulish. How can it be that a few minutes from birth is not a human ,but when it hits open air it is? Come on folks,lets be reasonable here.Even Morgentaler will not abort at this stage. Tell me when a fetus becomes a child please?

We used to have family day when I was a kid. It was called Sunday.

I know, I was there. There was a motion to outlaw partial birth abortions that Harper`s people manipulated so that it could not be debated or voted on. Harper has no agenda to take away womens rights to choice. This is just nonsence.

What has happened in Caledonia and the reelection of McGuinty proves to me that this province has no longer a rule of law and equal justice for all. What has happened to the ordinary citizen of this province? Do we no longer have a sence of justice and fair play? Who is next? You? Me?

Quite right of course. Although the Jews were most prominant in the death camps of Hitler ,JW`s , and a host of other groups were victims. Comparing Hitler,Stalin, Castro,Mao,Polpot as who was worst I guess is not relevant. Paul Bernardo or a Clifford Olsen were equal to these mass killers in the eyes and hearts of the victims. they just didn`t have the organizations. Dion is the best thing to happen to Harper`s CPC. Even if Harper gets only a minority he will govern like a majority. Why? Because the people will have made it perfectly clear for a second time they want a minority government and the opposition will be expected to co operate. I predicted Dion would win the leadership of the Liberals,but I also predicted he would be an interm leader. The country is at war and our troops are in harms way. The country does not need nor should it have a leader who changes it`s policys on the war on a weekly basis. Like him or not, Harper is the better leader while we are in this conflict.

No it isn`t. If a pregnant women is deliberately murdered and the fetus dies ,the murder` is only charged with one murder.That of the women.

It was Harper`s people who manipulated the vote in the CPC convention in Montreal to not have any motion or policy on abortion. So don`t give us that crap. I am against late term abortions,but that does not mean I am against women `s rights. Thats just silly.

Are you saying you believe in late term abortions right up to the moment of birth?

Comparing Hitler to Stalin as the worst bad guy can be dodgy. Hitler murdered 6 million in his concentration camps. Stalin murdered 20 million in forced famines and his gulags for those who were suspected of undermining the communists revolution. Soldiers dieing in war can`t be counted as murder. People escape from communist countrys, people from western democratic countrys do not need to escape. They are free to leave. Big difference.

I know Stalin murdered 20 million of his own people in peace time making Hitler look like a rookie!
