Sir, would you advocate scrapping the term ,Canadian Forces, in favour of RCAF, RCN and Canadian Army? Another question Sir if you please. Would it not be a good idea to create more reguler force regiments from some of our great reserve units to give areas of the country more personal ownership of said regiments? I refer to the Queens Own Rifles, Black Watch and the Guards of the fiftys and sixtys. Would this not boost moral?

Make a workable plan to get residents to buy their hovel from the government with but a token down payment. Several things might happen. They would have to take responsibility for the upkeep of THEIR property instead of the taxpayer. Next ,after spending THEIR own money on repairs ,flowers ,grass etc they would then protect THEIR property and also THEIR neighbours who are giving it a College try. Otherwise we will end up bulldozing and rebuilding to create more slums and more breeding grounds for criminal behaviour. Something has to change, or just bulldoze and disperse the inhabitants.

If they had pride in their community the real men,Fathers ,Uncles big Brothers would kick some butt of the punks who destroy any attempt to vandalize the community. Nope! Dissolve public houseing. A suggestion would be,is to allow individuals who live there an opportunity to gain ownership of what is now a slum . Ownership will give pride and will keep kids in line.

I mean really folks,this takes a lot og gall. Him and the man the Star calls the Deputy Prime Minister Michael Ignacia just this past week have been calling for Canadian troops out of combat roles. So who does he think should be the ones to attack Pakistan? Is Dion really a Hawk ? Has he been listening to George Bush? Or worse has George Bush been listening to him? Strange goings on!

Norman , how would you feel about this Guy if you were a soldier serving ,have served or going to serve in that mission. As for Islamic law against conversion to Christianity ,of course all we civilized people find that reprehensible,as do we find the previos Taliban governments treatment of women. But thats not why we got into this fight. It was to destroy the Taliban government that was giving binny and his gang a headquarters to train his gang of mad Islamic killers to attack the free world. Lest you forget thay did, 9/11,Bali, The tube in England,the train in Spain etc etc but most worrysome of ,the threat by Bin Ladin of terrorists attacks on Canadians. Thats what Canadians should be thinking about. It was a real threat, Binny Baby does keep his promises, we just may have prevented him from carrying out his promise by destroying his ability to train and prosecute his sick plans.

Dion`s mission to Afganistan is demoralizing to not only the troops in the field but the country as a whole. He is the opposition leader and should confine HIS personal comments and proposed policys to within our borders. He was part of a previous government that got us into this mission. Where was he and his big mouth then?

I was listening to a left wing politician describling how awfull the people have to live in such squaler in low cost public houseing. This was her excuse for the people turning to gangs and crime. Unfortunately nobody asked her why the houseing is run down! I can remember when Regent Park was first built. Beautiful for the time. Around 1950 if memorey serves me. Then the apartments and town houses in the Jane finch area.Beautiful and landscaped. They are all run down now and regent Park is being bulldozed.Why? Poor building construction? No it`s pride of ownership is what it is. In my neighbourhood we have homes over a hundred years old.Gosh, we should be the downtrodden should we not? Wait a minute ,maybe it has something to do with pride and a sence of ownership. You think! In these gettoes there is no pride of community or any reason to keep up ones property because they don`t own it. To keep your kids and your neibourhood kids in line is not a priority. If kids in our neighbourhood are being michevious or endangering themselves or others,or destroying property, I and my neighbours will challenge the little dears. I WILL CALL YOUR FATHER or MOTHER ON YOU! This gets results. Why?

Interesting reading here. I have come to a conclusion from years of observing. Low cost public houseing must be a breeding ground for gangs and violence. Yes there always has been violence in schools. When I was a Lad we got into punch ups and there was a certain amount of bullying. But kids were not murdered for percieved differences. But knives ,guns! For a bunch of kids who wore a brace of Roy Rogers six guns,graduated to a Red Ryder pump action BB gun and then onto a 22 single shot rifle, joined the army and lived in camps where everyone was armed to the teeth, I should be a homocidal maniac with such a history as a laddy. But I am not,and niether were my peers. Why? Must be in culture and breeding grounds where public houseing creates gettoes,gangs and real violence including murders. Conclusion! Bulldoze the public houseing and get people to disperse into the general population. Kids are a product of their inviroment. All kids want to belong and be cool. Unfortunately in some areas belonging to the Gangs is a neccessity to social life. Free the people. Bulldoze the low cost public houseing. Let people find homes in a greater big world where people have a different lifestyle. Where people actually look down their noses at drug dealing. Where civility is the norm ,not the exception. Where people working to improve themselves in legitimate jobs is not the exception,but the norm. What we are seeing folks in these gettoes is learned behaviour. We are also seeing an educational system and social system ,and long before Mike Harris, capitulate to the thugs. This culture is not new, it has been festering for over thirty years. In some cases this culture has beed imported. Maybe public houseing is to blame too?

well you two recognize the problem thank goodness. The left is still blaming Harris for crying out loud. The problem is almost insurmountable. How about the fist people to blame should be the young hoods who make everyones life miserable. They are the ones that are really in control because the consequences for their learned behaviour is diddly. They know they are untouchable. I like the idea of a school for the thugs. We used to call it Reform School for juvenile delinquents. Get ex CFL footblallers to manage the place. Our teachers have lost control of the schools and now they need help. I am willing to help with my experiences. Start in kindergarten demanding that children behave appropriately when a teacher enters the room. Build some respect starting there. Teach some patriotism. Loyalty. Act on bullying right away and suspend kids. If parents are working they will be put to a lot of trouble. It`s their brat ,not the teachers. Respect starts at home. I watched some of those kids going to school ,they would scare even me. They look ,dress and act like hoodlums. Well a few ideas anyway. Also a lot of this is a cultural problem but everyone is afraid to say it. If you don`t recognize and admit where the problem lies you can`t fix the problem.

Omar must have marvelous eyesight to read in the midst of battle the the shoulder flashes of his enemy to insure he was not directly fighting Canadians! What tripe you espouse! Answer me this! Are we or are we not part of this NATO mission in Afganistan? If we are then Canadians who knowingly fight NATO are in fact Treasonous crud who should at the least be stripped of their citizenship if not hung. Let me remind you once again why we are there since you have forgotten once again. Afganistan was harbouring the terrorists group Alquida run by Binny Ladin and his happy gang of virgin seeking screwballs who were responsible for 9/11 and were planning to attack Canada along with Great Britian. I am not making this up, Binny himself promised this.The Taliban were giving them the basis to train and plan their attacks on the free world. Got it? One of the great side effects ,is the Taliban could no longer subjugate the female population into stone age slaves.the Taliban are very good at fighting defenceless women you know. Little girls can now go to school. Of course I believe in womens rights to dress as they wish, pursue education and career. That makes me different I guess from you. I know I am a hard man ,but it is hard men that keep you safe in your wee comfy bed at night. Omar and his family look to dupes like you! You do their propangada for them. Always blame America. Canadians died at 9/11 by the way. But don`t let that stop you from giving comfort to the Binny Ladin gang.

To use the analogy that if kids in Canada took up arms against an invader would be the same thing as what Omar did is ridiculous. He is niether Afgan or Pakistani. He wore no uniform to identify himself a soldier. Geneva conventions then would and should class him a common criminal or spy. He should not be accorded the same rights as a uniformed soldier of ones country. But what disturbs me most about those who defend this guy ,is that he ,a Canadian and was fighting us. yes I know it was an American soldier he killed, but he would not be distinguishing the difference in battle what nationality his target was . He was fighting NATO forces. Our allies! That means us! Our youngsters in uniform,his Canadian peers, were in danger from him. When he is released ,he should be either tried here for treason or stripped of his citizenship and sent back to egypt.

A good post American Women , but what proof do we have that he was or is being tortured in Git Mo? Instead of blaming his incarceration on the Americans ,should not the blame be on fanatical Islam? They created the monster who should have been playing Hockey or Baseball and doing what other of his peer group were doing here in Canada.

Yes ,that was a very confuseing post! Just so you know your not alone dancer. Meanwhile ,if she is being tasked over there no matter what branch she is serving in I wish her well. I still don`t believe little girls should be put deliberately into harms way. But then again I come from another era when we used the term, This Mans army!

Apparently fighting against us and our allies when a Canadian citizen is no longer a crime. If it was the whole family at the least would have been sent back to Egypt. Someone mentioned the Serbian /Canadian who with others went back to Serbia to fight against Canadian forces. No charges were ever layed against these ungrateful so called Canadians of convenience. But this attitude goes back to Trudeau who cheapened Canadian citizenship by not demanding loyalty to Canada first.

If a parent is to be responsible for the physical and mental health of their children ,the law must allow them the tools to fix their pain. A child of fifteen in Canada can and do defy their parents . They know the law and parents are sometimes caught in a catch 22 situation. Where they want and are willing to help ,the laws prevent them. It is a terrible feeling of helplessness that sucks the life out of a parent.

Binny and his happy gang declared war on the free world. 9/11 was an attack on all of us who hold freedom dear to our hearts. The United Nations,that goofy outfit,even saw the wisdom of stopping this guy and his crazy virgin seekers. They asked for troops to enter Afganistan to take out the basis binny had there at the pleasure of the government of the day. The Taliban. That fun loving group of lady killers that were praising Allah and driving the country in to the dark ages. It was at the erging of the UN that NATO take over the task in Afganistan,not Bush. Got it? The Kadr kid and his family went to war against their country of Canada when they attacked our allie. Got it? It would have been no different at D Day if we had captured a Canadian citizen of German descent killing British Tommys,GI`s or Canuck soldiers. He would have been classed a traitor. And he would have been at least wearing a uniform. This American soldier he killed could just as well been a Canadian Soldier . A kid who might have delivered your newspaper or played hockey with your kid. Think about it? You have taken the side of our countrys enemy! I don`t think you see it that way. But thats the way it is.

It sure can be if the teachers can separate their Union from their profession. All of us are teachers in one way or the other. I lead my family by example.That too is teaching. I lead my employess by example. Shoulder to the wheel,nose to the grind stone. Yes ,teaching can be noble,but you don`t have to have a teaching certificate to teach.

This is what I expect will happen if the Black parents get their African centric school. The gang bangers will take it over quite quickly. The cooool dudes will have a home.The serious Black students will stay in the main stream system where they will no longer be under pressure in the hallways by bad guys. Recruitment in the gangs will take a hit. Of course the so called students who could not make it in the mainstream will fair no better in the new school ,so they will dumb down the testing so as to not disappoint the students , parents along with the social engineers who want this apartied system. They will graduate with a diploma that will not be regarded by Universitys as valid. Employers will not consider the piece of paper as a valid graduation from secondary school. Result? Nothing changes for these kids! So what of the kids in the reguler scholls? Less kids ,Black ,White ,Yellow or Green going to main stream schools living in fear of the bullys in the gangs on a day to day basis. Being cooool won`t be so important. Getting educated will be. Gee! We fought apartied and segragation didn`t we? Martin Luther King must be looking down on us with dismay and a tear in his eye. Sorry Sir! We are letting your memorey and quest down. I wonder why I can`t get an Irish centric school for my grandkids? Whoops! We better not start up that nonsence again.

What balderdash! When I served in Germany ,1960 to 1964,our battalion was mostly WASP. We had two blacks and some Native Indians. Fine soldiers all. Two people were excused Church Parade from my company. A Greek Orthodox and a Jewish Lad. The rest of us either were expected to be Prostestant or Catholic.I was at our regimental mens Christmas dinner this year. The majority of the Lads were visably not WASP descent. I sat with these Lads. Fine chaps who are proud as punch to wear their countrys uniform ,and to my ears not much different to my generation as far as young people are concerned who wear the Queens uniform. They are proud Canadian soldiers and I am as proud of them as I could be. Don`t put down the new Canadians kids. They are loyal and will defend our freedom and country when ordered to,and willingly to boot. Ask our Lads who have been to Afganistan how they feel about their mission. It has been my experience that they believe they are on the side of right and the downtrodden. Their biggest enemy is not the terrorists who hide behind civilian garb ,it is the traitorous news media of the left here at home who are selective in their so called news reporting. I support the troops and their mission. Volunteers all! God bless em!

Lets get things into perspective. This whole family that held Canadian citizenship ,left Canada to fight against Canadian and American soldiers in Afganistan. The American soldier he killed could just as well have been a Canadian soldier. Could have been one of his neighbours here in Canada. The word we are afraid to use is Traitor. Thats what he is and his family are. They should be stripped of their citizenship and deported back to Egypt, their fathers original birth place. These traitors give all peace loveing Canadians of the Islamic faith a heavy burden to carry. We are at war folks! We must not give quarter to our enemy who does not even wear a uniform. We certainly must not encourage traitorous action ,nor condone it. His brother who suffered grevious wounds fighting us is now being treated by Canadian tax payers. Why? Why are they not being treated in an Islamic state who sponsor terrorism? No ,I do not want this kid hung and quartered,but I don`t want him back in Canada either. He is a traitor to Canada. Who needs him? We certainly don`t. Our young soldiers are at war. We should not give comfort to their enemy.

TEACHERS you say! Good Lord ,these people can`t teach basic math ,science and spelling! I can`t see where they are qualified to teach something as deep and complicated as life skills. Teaching is no longer a calling you know! It`s a Union job first. Teaching was once a very noble profession. I am sure there are some dedicated teachers ,but they are the exception from what I have experienced.

I have great adult productive kids who have never been in trouble with the law. Why? Could it be they were taught and given a moral compass by observing their parents leading by example? I can honestly say we had something to do with their morality but that does not mean kids today brought up properly can not go bad. Our society has handcuffed parents and law enforcement from teaching the consequences of actions. We have teachers and social workers not working in the best interest of the child . The old adage is that for every action there is a reaction is no longer valid. There is no immediate consequences for slovenly dress, study ,bad social intercourse that breeds bullying ,drugs theft and vandalism. Without consequences through a childs youth a big suprise awaits the new adult that finds themselves in a a more equal world with their fellow adults. This murder of a child by other children is abnormal behaviour by our standards of yesterday. Will it be normacly tomorow?
