It seems that a judge has made an error in telling a women she had to remove her face covering in court so that those who were accused of sexually attacking her could see her face. Is this another Human Rights declaration? I respect that modest women of faith have every right to cover their face in their usual activities. But has this gone to far? Should face coverings be allowed in banks or other financial institutions ? I am on the side of this women if the accused are guilty, I will be more than happy to see them flogged. But they are innocent until proven guilty and I personally believe ,every accused has the right to face their accuser. What say you my fellow travelers?

The horror the poor Mom lives everyday and now she has to sit through this trial is beyond what a parent should have to bare. It would have been so much kinder for all concerned if the RCMP had dispatched the killer at the scene.

I would take on this task as a patriot and a duty to country but I just know she who must be obeyed would put the brakes on the whole idea. I can hear it now! What if you die in the saddle of some old broad about 24. How would it look?

I heard today that because of plastics being ingested that there is more baby girls being born and that young men are not producing enough sperm. Maybe with enough Viagra and a sturdy cane there might be some demand for old buzzards like me .

I am no expert on Aircraft but I can comment on what I have read and limited experience on flying. The Mosquito I think was amazing along with hurricanes and Spits. The hurricane never got it`s recognition because the spit was so cool. The hurricane could take more abuse because of it`s fabric body. A patch and some glue and away it went back into action. For commercial aircraft I agree that the Super Connie was brilliant looking and I had the pleasure in flying on one belonging to KLM. Great service and comfort. The worst aircraft I flew in was a RCAF North Star. Left Calgary and landed in Germany five days later. Scarey ,noisy and rough.

One wonders why some here will attack and ridicule someone for their beliefs. OH WAIT! It is only Christians that are fair game for ridicule in Canada I guess! Yet they get their panties in a knot over CP attack ads. Hmmm....

Since when has parliament been civil? Not since TV entered the room thats how long. All sides of the house have for years have been playing to the cameras. Remember the Liberal Rat Pack as they proudly called themselves! No ! This is not anything new. This is not a CP invention.

GM/Chrysler on verge of Bankruptcy
Muddy replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Your right! They will put a civil servant in charge who knows ziltich about the industry.Let the buggy makers sink or swim like the rest of sluggers out here. If I run my business in a slip shod manner as these guys i will not be bailed out by the government. -
Talking about animal husbandry, it`s reassuring that the white man slaughtered millions of Bison. They would be creating havoc with the enviroment now with all that flatulance polluting our air if they had been left in the millions. Kids would be being trampled, traffic would be snarled across the plains .

Mistakes will happen in government stimulus spending: Flaherty
Muddy replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A pox on the whole idea. I can spend my money more wisely than swivel servants and politicians. Iggy is sucking and blowing at the same time and from my arm chair people are wondering just what it is he stands for. -
Harper demands MPs put rush on $3-billion in stimulus spending
Muddy replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Good gosh we have some real Harper haters here! I am not a real big fan of Harper ,but the remarks of some here are not worthy of child school banter. I am against these bail outs but the speculation of what Harper would do with them is just beyond the pale. He is not the murdering dictator like the left has produced. It is the Liberals and NDP who cry he is not doing enough fast enough ,yet are the ones holding up the legislation. They are sucking and blowing at the same time. I personally still believe any bail out to reward incompetence is stupid. But I can`t believe the vile comments you people use to describe Harper. Disgusting bunch of drivel. -
My son who works for me and is a third year apprentice, just had a child three moths ago,( the little guy is as good looking as Gramps). I asked if his wife is going back to work. He answered thus. Dad ,I am one of those rare individuals who liked the way he was raised. I always had Mom around before and after school and I shared a room with my older brother. Thanks for loving us enough and going without the big cars and houses.

GM/Chrysler on verge of Bankruptcy
Muddy replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Have a little faith in mans ability to adjust. We will invent a better mouse trap. But printing money will destroy us all. look at Zimbabwe! They should be the greatest nation on earth if printing money worked. -
GM/Chrysler on verge of Bankruptcy
Muddy replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Yes ,but these fat cats from top to bottom at GM will not learn and will continue to blackmail the populace and it`s government. I think it terrible and unseemly to ask the guy working at a low paying job to finance these dolts. Because that`s who`s money it is. There is only one source of money for government largess. You and I! When your market drys up as has happened here, then your flogging a dead horse. Shut the door and move on. Dead is dead. You can`t reserect once it`s dead. -
GM/Chrysler on verge of Bankruptcy

Let them die. If there is a vacuum other manufacturers will start producing and build a better mouse trap or car. Of course they might think twice about employing former GM employees, executive or line workers. -
The Kangaroo Court at it again.
Muddy replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I will clarify! This case in point and the chap who is fighting the guy who wants to smoke his legal weed in his bar. Both these private business` are in jeopardy of closing because they are in a no win situation. If the Human rights jerks find in favour of the transvestite the owner of the Gym will lose his members. If the bar owner allows as has been declared by HRC ,the weed smoker to smoke his weed, the liquor board will yank his licence. Time to scrap the HRC. We have laws for discrimination that can be judged by real judges in a court of law. -
The Kangaroo Court at it again.
Muddy replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
As a business or private club you should be able to discern who enters and who dosn`t. The Human Rights people are hearing these cases to justify themselves in job that is meaningless.. They have no moral right to destroy private business. I expected better of this Conservative government. They should have abolished these Stalin like tribunals. -
Lets not go overboard. The free enterprise system is still the greatest boost to allowing a person the chance to rise above the station they were born into. If CEO`s have committed fraud, just like Conrad Black they should face jail time. It is beyond my comprehension how any honourable person can take a bonus while their company runs into the red , while share holders who have invested in their company are being devastated. Although I only have to answer to my business partner, I still have an obligation to be honest and forthright. We pay our employees, taxes and suppliers first and then if we are into the black and can sustain a downturn in the economy do we reward ourselves with bonuses. I have people and their families, who depend on my stewardship. There are CEO`s who are honourable who get little recognition for being forthright and honest. But they are few and far betwwen unfortunately. Maple Leaf Foods is a fine example of a CEO who earns his money and public trust.

Illusions of Competence Following the current news of economic disasters, I am struck by what is missing from the news rather than the usual daily bulletins of bankruptcies, downsizing, layoffs and pleas for bailouts. We have no news of executive officers, presidents, comptrollers and various highly paid executives of banks, brokerage houses, businesses and industries getting the axe. Nothing. Many of these entities are announcing losses of $$ billions and that they are taking action to reduce costs and blaming their woes on global problems. Excuse me, but these are the executives who sold their knowledge of global markets and international connections as the reason why they should command breathtaking salary and benefits packages. Compensation of high six figures are common while the elitists measure compensation in seven and eight digits. We have been conned by snake-oil salesmen. We have tens of thousands of private enterprises who employ hundreds of thousands of Canadians who do not pay their executives huge salaries. They are compensated in accordance with their contributions to the operation, and are clearly accountable for their actions. What makes the executives of Megalopolis Inc. any different? So far it appears that the gargantuan operations have an endless source of places to spread blame and zero accountability. The biggest con of all is that our governments have to pay huge salaries and bonuses to senior civil servants in order to compete with private enterprise. Apparently we are competing with people with delusions of grandeur and no sense of responsibility. Worse, our governments, like mega corporations, allow executives to spread blame and avoid accountability. Fallout of the current recession has to be a review of executive compensation. If our governments fails to take note and get back to appointing senior civil servants ‘at Her Majesty’s pleasure’ for reasonable compensation based on what they contribute, we need drastic changes to government. We have nothing to lose. If elitist civil servants choose to return to the private sector, so be it. Their peers in the private sector have proven to be overpaid incompetents unworthy of taxpayer support.

GM/Chrysler on verge of Bankruptcy
Muddy replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I don`t believe in bailouts for any business but this nonsence is really sick with GM and Chrysler. Thet want you and I and the kid working at McDonalds to subsidize retired auto workers pensions! Why should ordinary folks trying to hold things together be taxed for this crap? -
We as humans have a right to harvest animals for food or to clothes ourselves. We have an obligation not to inflict undue pain on animals. But animals do not have rights. The screwballs from PETA are absolutely bonkers. I also have wondered why we have so many Canada geese around Toronto when there are supposed to be so many poor and homeless people. Ever offer a bum a meal ,er, homeless,a meal? They always refuse my gesture. They just want my money. I don`t give Bums money but I am willing to feed the hungary.
