  5. caesar.....surprising isn't it, how well the New Democrats is doing, considering they don't have any media support, compared to the Conservatives and the Liberals, who are backed by both the private and government media in Canada. I guess this just shows the strength of the New Democrats.
  6. Interesting how misleading the press can be when reporting on the election campaign, eh?
  7. Maybe you might want to take a look at the latest Leger Marketing polling results for Ontario showing the New Democrats up from 18% to 24%, in one week, showing big momentum ifor the New Democrats in that province.

  14. SES CPAC June 10, 2004 Based on last night's numbers, CPAC-SES Nightly Tracking keeps the Conservatives marginally ahead of the Liberals: Conservatives 37%, Liberals 32%, NDP 17%, BQ 10%, Green 5%. We've had a chance to crunch the gender numbers and it looks like the focus on social conservatism has negatively impacted the Conservatives ability to attract female voters. This may be an obstacle to Conservative growth. Also, over a one week period, the percentage of undecided female voters has increased. Looks like women may have a significant impact on who wins the election. We have posted a table of the gender breakdown on our website www.sesresearch.com. Polling June 7 to June 9 (Random Telephone Survey of 600 Canadians, MoE ±4.1%, 19 times out of 20). Percentages may not add up to 100 due to rounding. Our tracking polls allow for a daily barometer on the activities of the respective campaigns. Decided Voters (Change from May 25th, 1st Nightly Tracking Poll Results) CP - 37% (+9) LIB - 32% (-9) NDP - 17 (-1) BQ - 10% (-1) GP - 5% (+2) *22% of Canadians were undecided (+1) Appetite for Change (Change from May 25th, 1st Nightly Tracking Poll Results) Time for Change - 54% (+2) Liberals doing a good job - 24% (-4) Agree with neither - 12% (+1) Unsure - 10% (0) Best PM (Change from May 25th, 1st Nightly Tracking Poll Results) Martin - 30% (-1) Harper - 26% (+9) Unsure -21% (-3) None - 11% (-5) Layton - 10% (+1) Duceppe - 3% (0) On the SES website (www.sesresearch.com), we post updated daily longitudinal tracking charts and details on the questions and the methodology each afternoon. Watch PrimeTime Politics at 8 pm EST (Monday to Friday) to get a detailed briefing of the numbers. For any media use of the polling data, we need to clearly identify the sponsor (CPAC). Please refer to the research as the CPAC-SES Nightly Tracking. Feel free to forward this e-mail. Cheers, Nik

  16. Student Vote 2004 How close do you think this will be to the actual vote on June 28th?
  17. Abortion, gay rights questions plaguing Harper I guess these issues sre not going to go away anytime soon.
  18. Conservative Big Guns Helping Out Landslide Annie
  19. Bryant....you are new here so I will cut you a bit of slack. Stick to debating the issues and read the protocols for posting here. If you wish to attempt to defend the indefensible, that's your business. Just do it.
  20. Liberals `desperate' Has anyone seen the ads yet?
  21. Strategic Voting? Paul Wells usually has interesting things to say.
  22. Comparing PC voting patterns with the New Democrats is like comparing apples and oranges. A much more realistic approach is to compare NDP polls and NDP votes. Leger Marketing today shows the NDP at 19%, 1% off from when they reached their historic high of 43 seats out of 295 seats in 1988. If the NDP were to poll the same 20%, they would obtain approximately 45 seats out of 308 seats this election.
  23. Layton Orders Candidate To Meet With Jewish Leaders
  24. Jack Layton on his two federalist opponents today: "Well the Liberals you know they aren't going to keep their promises, and, as for the Conservatives, Canadians just hope they won't keep their promises."
