Conservatives to drop French at Air Canada
maplesyrup replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't think the Conservatives released their plans, it was a leak about their plans. The Conservative war room is in major despair over this becoming public. -
Harper Conservatives on the Defensive
maplesyrup replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The New Democrats and the Conservatives are tied at 9% each for support in Quebec according to the latest EKOS poll released yesterday. So Harper's plan to move Air Canada to Toronto, and scrap or minimize French is an attempt to divide and conquer. It is obvious Harper has written off Quebec and is trying to shore up support in ROC. Looks like politics of devisiveness, play one region against another. How sad. -
Harper on defensive The combination of the Harper Conservative ideas, including scraping the Kyoto Accord which addresses global warming, with the secret agenda of Ralph Klein on medicare, must be concerning more and more Canadians as we enter the last week of the election campaign.

Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
maplesyrup replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Conservative logic on child pornography: 1 - Opposed to child pornography (who isn't?) 2 - Most people access child pornography on the 'net. 3 - the CRTC is the organization to oversee the 'net in Canada 4 - Conservatives want to dismantle or severly curtail the CRTC. -

Argus....you can pump it all you want. Most Canadians one issue with the gun registry is the cost overrun. Julian is one police chief amongst thousands. The association of police chiefs is supportive of the gun registry. Your guns are not being taken away. What are you worried about - Le BQ coming into the ROC? -

Argus....the problem with that kind of right thinking, is that you are not taking into consideration the Canadian police, most Canadians, and most Quebeckers support the gun registration. Anyone who brought down the Conservatives over an attempt to abolish the gun registry would instsantly become Canadian and Quebec heroes. -

Quebeckers want the New Democrat Agenda

Rev Blair.....this is a tough issue for the New Democrats, however Jack Layton has a ten year plan to Quebec. A couple of wheels have fallen off the Harper bus in the last 24 hours, and I think another one is about to fall off.
