kuzadd replied to M.Dancer's topic in The Rest of the World
It is not the same thing at all, just more of you lefties shifting the blame as if it justifies a show that teaches racism toward Jews. BTW Disney never taught hatred. and Dr Dobson preaches racism towards Muslim's so , what's good for one is good for another. face it or you simply being a hypocrite! If it's ok, for the west then it's ok for ME. btw: Walt Disney was rumoured to be an anti-semite. -

Calling Lebanese children terrorists and justifying dropping bombs on them because Hezbollah members kidnap soldiers, is proof that hate is indeed being indoctrinated on both sides. Whatever the shrill anti-Semites and Israel haters like to think and spout, the absolute undeniable fact is that the Palestinians they support routinely deliberately target children and other civilians, and that polls have shown this tactic has overwhelmingly approval by the Palestinian people. But you won't see any condemnation of that, or even acknowledgment by the same people who scream and shout at Israel. Israel also routinely deliberately targets children, so what is your point? You think Israel deliberately targets children because you hate Israelis. There is no actual evidence that Israel targets children, now or ever. On the other hand, there is massive, overwhelming evidence that Palestinians target children and you could not possibly care less. LOL, a post loaded with assumptions based on nothing!!!! You hate icecream!!! and you don't care cause I love it. Inane! -
http://www.religioustolerance.org/virgin_b.htm Thanks, I forgot the link, and usually I am so good!! " but, I guess that is because it is NOT a religious teaching right?? where would 80 percent of the population get such a crazu idea? well that blows a hole through your own theory. From the bible or not, it is a religious teaching, and it is irrational. Like I said 'birds and the bee's" ok?

actually this is a topic about the reprehensible use of manipulative propaganda techniques, everyone does it, stop pretending, this isn't the case. No one is claiming, this is not propaganda put out for manipulative purposes, but, condemn one group, for it, condemn your own, but spare me the hypocrisy. Don't get "left behind", fill your head with religious propoganda! who cares if it's martyr mouse or the "left behind" books or video games, same bs, all of it! Oh, I know, but, you are with the rigteous, right. and they are not.? But then , they are with the righteous and you are not?? Like I said, same BS, different channel. -
besty:"In my view the act of sodomy is un-natural!" "And if I'm not mistaken, homosexual sex is still considered pornography! " as is heterosexual sex, but, betsy only singled out ,one kind of sexuality, homosexual. if her claim was wrt pornography, she would not need to make this distinction. Hence she makes clear her bias, against homosexuals. What actually causes a movie to be labelled pornography is the explicitness of the sex, taking place in the movie.not the "who's doin' who" aspect of it. btw: I like using all the xxx's it makes it more fun for me , okaY?

I'm not denying that it is a "religious teaching". I'm just denying you know what you are talking about. "Overview: From about 80 CE to the present time, most Christian faith groups have taught that Jesus was conceived by his mother Mary, while she was still a virgin. This is believed to have been accomplished by the action of the Holy Spirit, without an act of sexual intercourse. Catholics and some other faith groups have taught the doctrine of perpetual virginity -- that Mary lived, gave birth to Jesus, and died while still a virgin. The Anglican Communion, Eastern Orthodoxy, Protestantism and Roman Catholicism have taught a variety of beliefs about the Jesus' conception. This doctrine is usually called the "virgin birth," although the term "virgin conception" would be much more accurate. This has long been one of the church's foundational beliefs, along with the inerrancy of the Bible; the inspiration of the Bible; the atonement, resurrection, and anticipated second coming of Jesus, etc. All of the commonly used major ancient church creeds have also mentioned it." yeah, well , 9 yrs of catholic education and church going, and I don't know what I am talking about? The virgin Birth is a teaching, and it's a crock of huey, there is no way anyone is going to be a virgin and give birth. You may need a 'birds and bees' talk.
-
so, now your denying the virgin birth is a religious teaching? ok? Gosh, all my years of catholic school, darn it! lay wasted at my feet. whatever floats your boat. something that happens in nature, but not to human beings. This is going to get to 'out there' for me, I know it!
-
Um okay, are you referring to me? If you ACTUALLY read my response, I addressed, the NO r-rated movie to minors issue. The reason I mentioned the gay bashing as contemptible, was based on some of the responses. Particularily Betsy's. Gay-bashing my foot! That's usually the case when someone happens to think differently from you! In my view the act of sodomy is un-natural! My view on it does not change just because you think it's just the most natural thing! And if I'm not mistaken, homosexual sex is still considered pornography! In my view, it still is! actually triple xxx rated heterosexual sex is also considered pornography, from a movie ratings stand point but, hey, don't let me stop you from displaying your own personal biases, wrt homosexuality.

maybe the 'liberal' man wears speedo as opposed to swim trunks?

Geez, you make it sound like that's a bad thing. you know caring for one's 'queen bee', could have alot of 'fringe benefits' for men. ;-) ;-) nudge, nudge

Find the bold text in the bible......after you have searched fruitlessly for that, look up parthenogenesis are you serious? what a load of garbage , of course my wording was not in the bible, I don't think , the people used the term 'the nasty" then! cybercoma, was correct, 100 percent. The 'virgin birth' is completely irrational.

So you can't show how the Israelis routinely target children? Quelle Surprise! why when did you ask? Here's your response. Mdancer: Clearly, you are only interested in name calling and nasty inference, when someone makes a statement you disagree with, as you so clearly demonstrated! which indicates to me , that is all you will do and all your capable of, which is why you did that right off the hop. So I thank you again for displaying weakness of position. -
Finding fault with certain passages of the bible and believing in a higher power are mutually exclusive. It not that he's is finding fault, he's just confused and doesn't really know what he's talikng about, period. Nothing that he refers to is canonical. canonic: appearing in a biblical canon; "a canonical book of the Christian New Testament" so are you just throwing words around? or are you denying the virgin birth? or are you further saying my fundamentalist christian friend, who goes to prayer group everyday, and church every Sunday is wrong, and reads the bible everyday? or are you further claiming that, speaking for myself, raised, Roman catholic, attended Catholic school , have been taught wrongly wrt the "virgin Birth"??

Perhaps in your phantasies....perhaps that makes chit chat at the terrorist rallies......but repeating the lie will not make it truth....unless of course there is a toatster somewhere telling us that Israelis are putting on suicide vests...... wow, you can throw, the slurs and negative inference around, very well. You display the weakness of your position, so clearly, by doing so, and I can't thank you enough for that. -

could you take that up with Mr. Weinstein ??Perhaps contact him, via his foundation, and then tell him everything he wrote about , his kids experiences, his lawsuit, etc., are all "puke and ignorance." He interviews exceptionally well, and left me free of doubt that he knows what he speaks of. -
With God on Our Side: One Man's War Against an Evangelical Coup in

excerpt of an article from his site: The CRUSADERS-Robert Koehler "When George Bush, in the wake of 9/11, puffed himself into Richard the Lionheart and declared he would lead the country in a “crusade” against terrorism — you know, crusade, as in slaughter of Muslim infidels — turns out . . . oh, how awkward (if you’re on White House spin duty) . . . he may have been speaking literally. What’s certain, in any case, is that a lot of people in high and low places within the Bush administration — and in particular, the military — heard him literally, and regard the war on terror as a religious war: “The enemy has got a face. He’s called Satan. He lives in Fallujah. And we’re going to destroy him,” a lieutenant colonel, according to a BBC reporter, said to his troops on the eve of the destruction of that undefended city in post-election 2004. “I knew my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God and his was an idol,” Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Jerry Boykin notoriously boasted a few years back, speaking of a Muslim warlord in Somalia. And by the way, George Bush is “in the White House because God put him there.” And, of course, just the other day, Lt. Col. Ralph Kauzlarich, who conducted the first official investigation into Pat Tillman’s death, opined that Tillman’s family is only pestering the Army for the, ahem, truth about how he died because their loved one, a non-believer with no heavenly reward to reap, is now “worm dirt.”" yah Pat Tillman's family, how dare they?! Just a "non-believer" "Until I read the newly published “With God on Our Side: One Man’s War Against an Evangelical Coup in America’s Military” (St. Martin’s Press), Michael Weinstein’s disturbing account of anti-Semitism at the U.S. Air Force Academy, I shrugged off each of these remarks, and so much more, as isolated, almost comically intolerant noises out of True Believer Land. Forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do . . . Now my blood runs cold. Weinstein, a 1977 graduate of the Academy and former assistant general counsel in the Reagan administration, and a lifelong Republican, has devoted the last several years of his life to battling what he has come to regard as a fundamentalist takeover of the Academy, turning it, in effect, into a taxpayer-supported Evangelical institution. He charges that the separation of church and state is rapidly vanishing at the school, which routinely promotes sectarian religious events, tolerates the proselytizing of uniquely vulnerable new recruits and, basically, conflates evangelical interests and the national interest." >>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> etc., etc., - - - During the interview Mike Weinstein spoke of the whole rapture thing, and, interestingly he quoted his wife's words. The Evangelical Christians look on the Jewish, like the Pilgrims, looked at the Turkey prior to , thanksgiving dinner. I get a real vivid image and understanding from that. -
a couple editorial reviews of the book: “With God on Our Side is the story of one man’s willingness to stand up for the Constitution of the United States. Arrayed against Mikey Weinstein are those who would transform the United States military, our most revered institution, into a force of evangelical crusaders, intolerant of the diversity of our society and willfully subversive of our national security interests. It is an important call to arms for all who love our country and the principles for which it stands.” —Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, author of The Politics of Truth “The extremists and the militants of the Muslim world would like us to believe that the world is embroiled in a cosmic battle between Christianity and Islam. Yet instead of debunking this twisted ideology, there are those in the armed forces who are legitimizing it with their fundamentalist indoctrination of our nation's troops. If the war on terrorism is a war of ideology, then Weinstein deserves a medal because his battle to put an end to the rampant Christian evangelism in the United States military is making the whole country safer.” —Reza Aslan, author of No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam I heard an interview with the Author and he has quite the 'story to tell' as they say about what is going on in the US military, it seems , radical indoctrination is the name of the game. he became so concerned about the treatment, (anti-semtic), of his kids, further evangelical indoctrination going on, he launched a law suit , started an organization, in other words, he got active. http://militaryreligiousfreedom.org/

anyway, back to wacky indoctrination techniques! How bout this one? http://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/22335/ The Rapture Takes Manhattan New Evangelical video game meticulously re-creates the city so you can destroy it in a battle against the forces of darkness. based on of course, whacked out indoctrination of the masses, of christians that is! . Players of the video game control a religious militia battling U.N.-style “Global Community Peacekeepers.” To triumph in Eternal Forces, players need to make converts, so in addition to snipers, tanks, and infantrymen, the Tribulation Force includes Evangelists and worship leaders. (The Global Community, meanwhile, has “rock stars” and “cult leaders” to pull souls into darkness.) got to get those people converted!!! The novels’ Antichrist is one Nicolae Carpathia, who’s the secretary-general of the United Nations when the Rapture comes(and, incidentally, is the bioengineered son of two gay men). (aah, the homphobic aspect)Soon enough, he becomes Global Community Supreme Potentate, masking his diabolical intentions with promises of peace and disarmament. The heroes of the series—including a born-again rabbi— (a born again rabbi, eh?? of course, of course, cause the born-agains have only one USE for the jewish people)battle Carpathia’s attempts to impose an abortion-promoting one-world government. Amazingly the religious propaganda , brainwashing books, "the left behind" inspiration for this brainwashing game, sold more then 60 million copies. Fundamentalist Islam ain't got nothing on this nonsense. This is savy. There crap is crude, and obvious. -
MDancer: cybercoma?: Reason and religion are TOTALLY incompatible! Let's recount a story, had this devout christian woman, over the weekend, telling me about Mary, mother of Jesus, and with absolute seriousness, she told me , Mary was a virgin, when she gave birth to Jesus, a virgin giving birth, immaculate conception, right?.......... Cause though she was married to Joseph, she never "did the nasty" with him, until after Jesus was born, then, she did "lay down" with her husband after jesus's birth. So inotherwords after Jesus was born , who was conceived via 'immaculate conception', she then finally had sex with her husband???? this is reasonable, or logical or rational??????

Because the article is reporting on a lawsuit that has been filed. -k Kimmy, I fully understand that, and that's what makes it fishy, the article itself. Reeks of an agenda. Let's see, where to begin , what type of 'credible', news release, would not have a response at all, from the school or the teacher? In fact in reading the article it doesn't even appear the news source, attempted to contact the school or the teacher, or it would have been noted in the article. Therefore it is a completely one-sided article. Secondly if the concern was over an r-rated move, the fact that it is a "gay-themed" movie is not even necessary to be mentioned. Would it have been acceptable by the grandparents and further the paper, if it was an r-rated movie? That had heterosexual foreplay/sexual inference in it??? Let's face it ,an r-rating is given if the "F word" is in the movie, inferred sex is not even necessary to get an r-rating. But duly noting the fact that it is stated as a "gay-themed" movie, in the article, the lack of any sort of basic journalistic balance, makes it pretty obvious, that, the whole problem is not that it is an r-rated movie, but that it is a gay themed r-rated movie, and the article is written to raise the ire of homophobic christians. Which, looking at the responses, from the self-proclaimed 'right-wing/christian/homophobes', (they can pick their own self-prescribed label) bait taken, hook and all.!
