  1. So Iran is free of homosexuals eh? Well I think that is the place all my fanatical christian pals, should LOVE !
  2. I read the OP article. I note also it only appeared in the one paper , that I could find, probably because it is truly such a non-issue, except for people or a paper that wishes to make an issue of it. Frankly, when the meal was served means nothing to me. The fact is Corrections Canada, when one looks at there site is fully aware and has been complying with dietary needs based on religions, so..... Do it, or not! I don't care who complained! If this is routinely provided, which it appears to be, then it should be provided, that's it. If Corrections Canada is not going to provide for one religious group, then they should provide religious diets for none. Simple as that. So i'll suggest to you, make an issue of it, and have corrections canada stop providing specific meals for religious reasons, for all religions!
  3. http://www.csc-scc.gc.ca/text/prgrm/chap/d...iete-03_e.shtml Corrections Canada Religious Diets - General Guidelines seems corrections canada is aware of all manner of special dietary needs for all faiths. Therefore, you serve, everyone. Or none at all! It is not who, but the very act itself that should be questioned? Should special meals be provided at all, for religious reasons, to anyone at all??? My answer, if you do for some, you do it for all, or NOT AT ALL !!!!
  4. here's a news story out of Florida: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,294349,00.html Florida Prison Halts Kosher Meals for Jewish Inmates, Halal Meals for Muslims IAMI — Note in this case this program was SPECIFICALLY geared to Jewish persons, it was called the "Jewish Dietary Accommodation Program" So Florida, said goodbye to it all! and that was the correct reponse. if you make exceptions for some, you cannot pick and choose who it is, based on "discriminatory reasoning". Therefore, if the prison system provides special meals for Jewish persons, then special meals should also be provided for Muslims, or NO special meals for anyone, for religious reasons.
  5. Does your opinion lie on the act itself, or the person perpetrating??? Are you outraged over all special demands? or just Muslim special demands? I'll ask again?
  6. If it was a Jewish person, would you be promoting it, to a high profile? because, as we have established it is a reality, that Jewish people have also demanded dietary consideration, so should that be high profile to, or just because it is a Muslim??? Does your opinion lie on the act itself, or the person perpetrating??? Are you outraged over all special demands? or just Muslim special demands?
  7. time to decriminalize marijuana, just like alcohol and cigs. Grow your own! waste of tax dollars on this nonsense, has gone on long enough. Much ado over nothing!
  8. If this topic was not about breasts, it would not have gone on for so long. Perhaps the military should pay for vaginal reconstructive surgery, also? Would the topic go on for as many pages? How about the self-esteem issues revolving around that? After numerous births perhaps a woman would feel better a little "tightened up"? Kimmy: I don't see how the question of women having a legitimate need for breast augmentation, is "IRRELEVANT", to the issue of when and what plastic surgery should be paid for. It would seem to me it is in fact ,the issue, it is in fact relevant, did they have a legitimate need or didn't they?? As to this topic, in general, I guess it is between the patient, the doctor and the insurer. BTW B: IMO, "Kimmy", must have missed all the Sesame Street shows, on good manners and not acting like a bully. Can we assume Oscar the Grouch is "kimmy's" fave? Inquiring minds would love to know
  9. B: you are forgetting the "government is good, the government is OUR leader, we should never question the government, God tell's us so" Also "Democratic governments never terrorize or kill their own populace" repeat it over and over and over B. BTW: operation gladio strategy of tension left-behind armies I am reading a new book now, about the NATO left behind armies, OMG!!!!!!!!!! smokin!!! http://www.amazon.com/NATOs-Secret-Army-Op...y/dp/0714685003 NATO's Secret Army: Operation Gladio and Terrorism in Western Europe (Contemporary Security Studies) oh but, it's history..those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. A must read!!! ties in quite nicely with the one I already read http://www.amazon.com/Puppetmasters-Philip...n/dp/0094705909 Puppetmasters: The Political Use of Terrorism in Italy ...
  10. jbg is making the INCREDIBLE and NON-CREDIBLE claim that Jewish people are less criminal?? This is quite hilarious, and incredulous. A perusal of the Jewish press, shows that people in Israel, Jewish people are as inclined to crime, as any other countries population. Gosh I was reading haaretz, as I often do, along with numerous other foreign news sites, and yup there is crime committed by Jewish people, OMG!!! Inc., but not limited to government officials, Olmert, most recently, the neo-nazi group, bashing heads, and previous extensive bouts of terrorism. Yah, know why? Because, the Jewish people, are people, they are fallible, prone to error, and hot-headedness, and foolishness , errors in judgement, etc., They are human beings, just like the rest of us! That's all there is to it! To say otherwise is to spout nonsense.
  11. http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/a...1&cset=true Not so fast, Christian soldiers The Pentagon has a disturbing relationship with private evangelical groups brainwashing, hate mongering, bah, organized religion disgusts me! anyway, this isn't the first time....... "Our military personnel swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, not the Bible."
  12. I read this and saw the video, shocking, these guys taped their assaults, brutal. Interesting op-ed from haaretz with regards to these incidents, also. How not one victim reported it to the Police. Apparently because many were 'homosexuals'& 'foreigners' and the Police, never do much about that kind of stuff, abuses of foreigners/non-accepted. I could see, where it would be surprising, given history, but, since all people, are capable of stupidity, murder, brutality, and lack of morality. There is no surprise there based on human foibles. It is a individual choice ,irregardless of the group of people, these individuals are associated with. Given that an Israeli individual is as prone to stupidity/violence as any Canadian individual, since that is how human beings can generally be. It's unfortunate that the victims did not even feel they could report these brutual crimes to the authorities.
  13. Aaah, now you are getting it! yes, it is only bad when muslims complain. It's called that old double standard and is rampant here.
  14. "they" are the enemies of freedom. wether it be heavy handed, taser happy cops, spying Pentagon, or provocateurs at protests. Or ask George Bush it's his slogan.
  15. Jennie: amen! You have a good understanding of the referendum, and the proposals for it. it certainly it not a complete re-do, more an enhancement. I will be voting, Yes, to change!
  16. Alqueda always shows up, when the US needs'em!
  17. How odd? The US/Brits are not so happy with Musharaf, been sneaking around with Bhutto, etc., The Western press rather then calling him an ally, have been calling him the dictator, and Along comes BinLaden, perfect timing! He is going to declare war on Musharef?! How timely. Now the US/Britian can use a heavier hand with Pakistan! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070920/ap_on_.../al_qaida_video CAIRO, Egypt - Osama bin Laden will release a new message soon declaring war on Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, al-Qaida announced Thursday. Bush and BinLaden have the same 'enemies' perfect!
  18. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=fbe_1190152228 Kerry UF Taser Protest 18/09/07 well these kids, grasp the concept of free speech and asking tough questions.
  19. oh and your free to not wear the tshirt of your choosing also, thankfully, they sued and thankfully the judge had a brain! http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/wireStory?id=3489979 A couple arrested at a rally after refusing to cover T-shirts that bore anti-President Bush slogans settled their lawsuit against the federal government for $80,000, the American Civil Liberties Union announced Thursday. Question: why were they arrested in the first place? and charged with trespassing? I guess, when a country is so busy promoting 'freedom' around the world, they might forget that "a presidential advance manual makes it clear that the government tries to exclude dissenters from the president's appearances. " excluding dissenters, makes that 'freedom' seem, not free.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCBcOQkUNjI STUDENT TASERED FOR ASKING SEN KERRY ABOUT VOTER SUPPRESSION Kerry was kind enough to answer the question while he was being tasered. "They hate us for our freedoms" freedom to not ask questions, freedom to not hang posters, freedom to not attend hearings. LOL!
  21. Is it obvious they broke the law? How do you know? Were you there? given that it was a press conference the poster may or may not have stayed where it was? The cop on the horse, riding into the reporters was heavy handed, to say the least. But hey, if the cops are working on good relations with the community, they have along way to go There is NO poster ban in TO. The legislation is already posted. How about the reverend?
  22. Very dangerous to first right amendments, indeed!!!!! and I agree free speech is a higher power to a poster ban.
  23. I am all for it, just like any other marriage!
  24. OMG, this is twice now, I am in agreement, with you!!! It just bears repeating, what 2 consenting adults choose to do, is not the governments business to regulate!
