Who would you like to see hauled before the World Court?
kuzadd replied to Higgly's topic in The Rest of the World
No,no Mr Gaddafy is good now, cause the US say's so, he is their friend -
operant adj : having influence or producing an effect; "many emotional determinants at work"; "an operant conscience" It appears to be an adjective

Oh I draw a distinction alright, between those who "claim" to be Christian, and those who live, that kind of life. My guiding principal is this "God created ALL mankind in his own image" that means we are all one. Science bears that out also. Most "christians" are quite willing to kill to fulfill sick prophecies, edicts etc., these are not christians.

He "thinks" he is innocent? Of course, he has god on his side.
-
Actually he did say, GOD TOLD HIM, so I am not making it up. I leave that to you.

You know Fortunata, my Grandmother, who is a lovely, lovely woman, tells me beef, doesn't taste the same now as it used to. Now she has eaten meat for quite some time, what has changed , the cow? or the method of raising the cow? Quite obviously it is the method of raising the cow and the pig, and factory farming practices in general. Unfortunately, if this forum can be taken as an indicator, the populace doesn't seem concerned about the food we eat, unless it's from China! But we have had mad cow and probably still do, e-coli, salmonella and who knows what else, very little interest, it is quite sad indeed.

Higgly! check this out http://desertpeace.blogspot.com/2007/10/ki...e-of-jesus.html it's an interview between Amy Goodman and an author who wrote a book on blackwater, I have watched the first 10 minute segment. Interesting! BTW: this is an excellent blog on it's own.

No actually I am right, ideology is ideology. You just can't accept that simple fact. Ideology.:a systematic body of concepts especially about human life or culture b : a manner or the content of thinking characteristic of an individual, group, or culture c : the integrated assertions, theories and aims that constitute a sociopolitical program religion democracy ideology

But jazzer, they do it all in the name of "god" doncha know? Cause "God told" him and his father both, GOD SPOKE to them Richard Roberts, says God is speaking again, telling him to deny lurid allegations. God spoke to him, his dad, GWB, Pat Robertson, yikes!!!
-
What you don't understand is there is no difference. ideology is ideology, windowdressing isn't going to change that. The US brought no freedom to Iraq, or Afghanistan, that was never then intention, that was just the sale pitch for the gullible.
-
isn't it weird? Christians allegedly don't kill for God, or so scottsa claims, though what has been going on in the US lately "onward christian soldiers" that debateable. But we can kill for "freedom" kill for "democracy" kill for "liberty" and that is all good right ,scottsa??? Well it all sounds "good" what's the diff? No matter the reason, IDEOLOGY, many, many people are DEAD! Bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan, as if that was ever true.

oh Pat Robertson, another christian scammer/scandalizer. yeah! oh I forgot, he is a "businessman" and he has had some beautiful dealings in Africa, btw.

I'm still working on the "left-wing nut" comment. It appears that way. -
No, I'm on a "wonder why no one talks about the garbage going on in our own backyard, just points fingers everyone/where else. Ecoli tainted beef , spinach and more, we got problems here and we can't blame China, for that.

You should try to concentrate: My article is about a "christian family/dynasty" helping themselves to donors money and abusing those donors. Hence the correct title "christian scammers and scandal abound" They are christians and it is a christian U, they are scammers and it is a scandal. Your nonsensical title is a stereotype, about nothing at all "Islam the sneaky buggers" Nothing at all, just derogatory name calling of an entire group, there is nothing about crime, the entire title is a slam, as was the entire thread on your part. If it was about crime the title should have made note of that. At least my title, was somewhat descriptive of the actual situation. Are you denying these people are scammers? Or that this is a scandal? Sorry can't deny that!

here's another article http://www.csmonitor.com/2001/1213/p16s1-lire.html "Most Afghanis were perfectly happy to have their daughters educated," she adds. Her experience with the Taliban and their subsequent actions led Dr. Mattson - a convert to Islam and now a professor of Islamic studies at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut - to speak out against them in Muslim circles ever since. A small, slender woman with an arrestingly calm demeanor, Mattson has no reluctance about speaking out on issues of import. Her articulate voice was one of the first after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks to call publicly on Muslims to condemn not only the attacks, but any resort to violence in the name of Islam. "Who has the greatest duty to stop violence committed by Muslims against innocent non-Muslims in the name of Islam?" she asked. "The answer obviously is Muslims." And her voice is one that is heard. Earlier this fall, she was elected by members of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), perhaps the largest and most diverse Muslim organization on the continent, to a two-year term as vice president. She is the first woman to hold that position. Imagine that she, a WOMAN, was ELECTED, by members of the Islamic society of NA well that blows one stereotype out of the water (Islamic oppression of women)

Did you read the Chatelaine article? What on earth are you talking about? The article posted? The woman is intelligent and articulate, I know that is difficult for you but, read, all about it.

no moral equivalency in actions, just in title useage, cause if it's good enough for you scottsa, it's ok for me, or anyone else. RE: murders around the world and moral equivalency: The US has killed more people in illegal wars/covert wars and terrorism etc., in the past 20 yrs, then several hundred murders(allegedly) a week. Just the facts scottsa, just the facts. I know that's hard for you! BTW: these guys are scammers, and they dupe the gullible! In the name of "god"

I found it quite interesting. she was raised Catholic, here in Canada, and converted to Islam more then 20 yrs ago Here's another article about her http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16242486/site/newsweek/ In the Chatelaine article, I liked how she mentioned the "paternalistic tendencies" that other women display, towards women who CHOOSE to wear a head scarf , as she does. It is one of Chatelaines better articles

http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=3673585&page=1 The Topps Meat Co.'s massive frozen hamburger beef recall has many shoppers worried about the safety of their meat, after it may have sickened 25 people in eight states. "You don't know what's in it," one concerned shopper said. "It makes me feel very scared, and I don't know what to eat." Related Stories six weeks before the recall was issued. "We don't understand why it took so long to recall this meat. If there was a victim in August, it should have been revealed weeks ago," said Jean Halloran of the Consumers Union. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which oversees the industry, said there were no recall delays. However, when the first recall went out Tuesday, only a small amount was recalled. By the weekend, the recall was expanded by more than 600 times. and since then there has been another recall! http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/10333657.html E-Coli Surfaces in WI; Tainted Beef Blamed By Chris Lato Frozen ground beef patties produced at a plant in the Waukesha County community of Butler are making people sick from e-coli-related illness. The plant is owned by beef producer Cargill. The patties have been pulled off Sam's Club store shelves nationwide after four kids in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area became ill from e-coli. now I usually just use the title of the article from the news story from the press, but, I thought in light of the allowance of the title wrt islam, this was an appropriate title, and actually is correct in it description christian scammers and scandals. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5j9XJtq8...mPuBFQD8S38D9G0 anyway.................... lunacy runs in the family, or the ability and knowledge to run scams and dupe gullible followers. sorry for the long list.......anyway the gist of it is: Richard Roberts is accused of illegal involvement in a local political campaign and lavish spending at donors' expense, including numerous home remodeling projects, use of the university jet for his daughter's senior trip to the Bahamas, and a red Mercedes convertible and a Lexus SUV for his wife, Lindsay. She (his wife) is accused of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on clothes, awarding nonacademic scholarships to friends of her children and sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as "underage males." The allegations are contained in a lawsuit filed Tuesday by three former professors. They sued ORU and Roberts, alleging they were wrongfully dismissed after reporting the school's involvement in a local political race. Richard Roberts, according to the suit, asked a professor in 2005 to use his students and university resources to aid a county commissioner's bid for Tulsa mayor. Such involvement would violate state and federal law because of the university's nonprofit status. Up to 50 students are alleged to have worked on the campaign. The professors also said their dismissals came after they turned over to the board of regents a copy of a report documenting moral and ethical lapses on the part of Roberts and his family. The internal document was prepared by Stephanie Cantese, Richard Roberts' sister-in-law, according to the lawsuit. An ORU student repairing Cantese's laptop discovered the document and later provided a copy to one of the professors. It details dozens of alleged instances of misconduct. Among them: _ A longtime maintenance employee was fired so that an underage male friend of Mrs. Roberts could have his position. ( so Mrs Roberts like the young guys eh?) _ Mrs. Roberts — who is a member of the board of regents and is referred to as ORU's "first lady" on the university's Web site — frequently had cell-phone bills of more than $800 per month, with hundreds of text messages sent between 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. to "underage males who had been provided phones at university expense." _ The university jet was used to take one daughter and several friends on a senior trip to Orlando, Fla., and the Bahamas. The $29,411 trip was billed to the ministry as an "evangelistic function of the president." _ Mrs. Roberts spent more than $39,000 at one Chico's clothing store alone in less than a year, and had other accounts in Texas and California. She also repeatedly said, "As long as I wear it once on TV, we can charge it off." The document cites inconsistencies in clothing purchases and actual usage on TV. _ Mrs. Roberts was given a white Lexus SUV and a red Mercedes convertible by ministry donors. (generous donors?) _ University and ministry employees are regularly summoned to the Roberts' home to do the daughters' homework. _ The university and ministry maintain a stable of horses for exclusive use by the Roberts' children. _ The Roberts' home has been remodeled 11 times in the past 14 years.
