Sure. On the other hand, she doesn't really have any power. She's just a head of state who does ceremony stuff from time to time and the little power she does has is vested in the GG. Xi Jinping is a dictator with tight control over any citizen if he so chooses. I could take her or leave her, but until then I am loyal because the Crown is a symbol of the state itself.
-
LOL. Then off with her head.

You took an oath of allegiance to the Queen of Canada, not the Queen of Britain. Read the contract before you sign it.
-
You're a Canadian by title only. You abuse all of the rights and privileges of citizenship for selfish gain while spitting on the main responsibility we ask of you: allegiance. You would not be a Canadian citizen if were Prime Minister. All of the rats would be exposed in writing and for the public to view. Nobody would get a passport or a vote without swearing true allegiance to Canada and denouncing all foreign loyalties and allegiances each and every time. All foreign citizenships would be revoked. Maybe one day the rats would be exposed, and the liars of the oath jailed as traitors or else kicked out. Count yourself lucky that most of our politicians are far more cowardly than I. Carry your passport well, it is property of the Queen you disavow. Long live the Queen of Canada.

Why?

Canada is not governed nor has any legal connection in any way whatsoever to the British Crown. Our Crown is called the Canadian Crown, and our Queen's official title is "Queen of Canada". Don't worry, you're not a British subject.

Postmedia paid by UBC to let them write opinion pieces
Moonlight Graham replied to Argus's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Postmedia owns more Canadian news publications than anyone as far as I can tell. And they're taking bribes for op-ed space. This is extremely problematic and should be illegal. Postmedia is 66% owned by a US media conglomerate. This should be illegal. They don't care about our democracy. Where is the competition bureau when Postmedia owns both the Calgary Herald and Calgary Sun, the Ottawa Citizen and the Ottawa Sun etc? There's no other city newspapers in these cities. Plus they own the National Post, and Global News. If they owned the Globe and Mail what other newspapers could anyone receive in cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa besides a Postmedia paper? -

We would be very naive to think puff pieces like this haven't existed for awhile. No reason buying ads in a paper or magazine can't come with other "entitlements". -

What exactly is the "great reset"?
Moonlight Graham replied to Thinkinoutsidethebox's topic in Political Philosophy
"The Great Reset" and "Build Back Better" come from the World Economic Forum, that weird globalist organization through which global elites meet every year in Davos. Chrystia Freeland and Al Gore (and Yo-Yo Ma!) are members of the board of trustees. It sounds like an excuse for governments to spend a lot of money to the great benefit of the world's big corporations and their globalist wealthy elites. Neoliberalism and corporate handouts are alive and well. https://www.weforum.org/great-reset/ -

Exactly. -
Yes: The "build back better" thingy is part of "The Great Reset" from the World Economic Forum: https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/07/to-build-back-better-we-must-reinvent-capitalism-heres-how/ This is some odd international governmental social engineering campaign (an excuse to spend money it sounds like). The Liberal's Chrystia Freeland is one of the World Economic Forum's trustees, as is Al Gore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Economic_Forum#Organization These are some of the elites that meet in Davos every year.

It's interesting to me how Canadian and US politicians have borrowed from each other. Trudeau's slogan in 2015 was the Obama-esque "Real change!", while the Biden campaign has been borrowing speech lines from people like Jack Layton and has promised to make a cabinet that 'looks like America"...ripping off Trudeau's style. And Canada conservatives have been influenced by Trump populism.

The time it takes to get Canadians vaccinated will be a decision that will cost lives and a lot of GDP and jobs if we don't get it in a timely fashion. Hopefully Trudeau gov has this figured out or that could sink this gov.

The Progressive Conservatives are back
Moonlight Graham replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Your question is pretty self evident. 2 consenting adults doing something that doesn't harm anyone else shouldn't be banned. I've never seen evidence that gay marriage harms anyone else, such as their children. Pedophilia harms children. If you want to kiss your sibling whatever, if you want to marry your sibling whatever, but if you want to procreate with them that should be illegal as it is physically cruel to the child. I'm not saying anything new. -

Your support for pedophilia, incest, and homophobia has been noted. At least I respect you for being honest. -

I also don't think they should be forced to go to any parades. As I said before, if they showed support in other ways for LGBT community, as PM who represents the country, that would be fine. A regular MP should be able to do whatever they want. Of course, a PM can too, I just think if they don't support that community they're a bigot homophobe. -

Because adults can exploit and manipulate children, and adults shouldn't be having sex with minors. Because married people have sex, and if a brother and sister marry and have sex and get pregnant the child will often be deformed. I don't see any major social or physical harm from gay people marrying. If one disagrees with gay marriage but agrees with incest and marrying minors there's many countries including some Muslim countries which have these laws and they should move there. -

Because they've been denied the legal ability to do things that non-LGBT people have always been able to do, like get married. Not to mention being socially stigmatized and made to hide who they are for most of human history minus the last few decades. Hence, Pride parades and flags. -

I think an MP and a party leader can do as they please, but a PM is different in that they represent all Canadians. I also think it would be fine to not attend the parades if there was clear support/celebration for LGBT rights in other ways. We never saw this during the Harper years: https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/pride-flag-raised-at-parliament-hill-for-first-time-1.2926996?cache=yes -

I don't care if they agree with it or not. They represent me and the people of Canada, they're my b*tch, they work for me. So as my b*tch and my employee they will STFU and *gasp* recognize the humanity of gay people. If they don't like it they can quit like any employee. Canadians should demand no less from their Prime Ministers. I have to do things at work I don't like and that I don't agree with. I think you're confused on who the superior and the inferior is here. -

They don't have to dance in the streets, or show up every year, they just have to show even just once in 10 years to acknowledge their humanity. Imagine that! I would think going at least once every 3 years or so is enough. No, every single person regardless of religion who believes that gay people are evil sinners and would deny them basic human rights is a homophobe. Some Muslim countries put gay people to death, shame on them.
