What lawsuits against the RCC? What criminal charges against the RCC?

Jacee, I think people will always try to find conspiracies when it has to do with large powerful groups.

German town goes off the grid with alternative energy.

So you would just leave the oil in the ground instead oil using it as a revenue stream? Interesting. Do you feel the same way about gold, silver, zinc, copper, etc? -
Why aren't we building more pipelines right NOW?
Peanutbutter replied to Scotty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm certain they are working on renewable resources as we speak here. It's impossible to switch from one widely available fuel source to another overnight around the world. It doesn't work that way. Oil is the best option we have right now until something else is widely and easily available. What do you suggest the entire world change to instead of oil for all it's needs? -
Same thing using Chrome. Normal using Firefox.

He's a millionaire yet he's taking money from our education system. He's taking any high ground away from himself if he ever talks about the education system not having enough money, that's for sure. All's he is doing is proving to everyone that he is for sale to the highest bidder if he ever gets into the PMO. Not to mention that he is making these enormous sums of money while missing sessions at the House of Commons. Why isn't the MSM reporting on this?
-
Except he's not the leader of his party and he isn't in his riding doing riding work. In PM Harper's case he is travelling internationally looking after Canada's interests abroad. This isn't what Trudeau's doing. Trudeau is charging taking money out of the already taxed education system to the tune of $20k a pop, he should be ashamed of himself. He's a millionaire MP who is pulling in $151k per year and is pulling $20k each time he appears to speak at schools...disgusting.

Even if Canada didn't use as much fossil fuels as it does we would still have to get that oil out of the ground to boost our GDP. Are you making the case for not extracting any oil whatsoever? I'm in favor of using green or alternative fuel sources and I hope one day these fuels will be able to over take the use of fossil fuels but that is not the case today. I for one would like to see every single house and building in the country to have solar panels a top of it, this would greatly reduce our reliance on other fuel sources. As time goes on and electric car technology gets cheaper and better I'm sure we'll see more hybrid or fully electric cars in the not so distant future. Say 10 years from now? It's not possible to convert Canada's entire energy stream overnight which is what you seem to be wanting. It takes time and billions of dollars of investment. Where will these billions come from? -
Justin Trudeau has almost the lowest attendance record of all MP's at 64%. At least now we know what he is doing when he's not at his post in the HoC. He's ignoring his constituents and moonlighting instead. Go Justin.

Secular groups certainly can but their are far more religious groups which provide aid than their are secular ones. Perhaps once this imbalance is corrected then we can rely less on religious aid groups.

Teachers Should Be Paid More
Peanutbutter replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Socialist, I didn't state my opinion one way or another, I only asked you what was important for our children to know. What sort of facts would be useless to memorize? Why doesn't spelling matter anymore? Even though children can and always could draw pictures to express themselves it's still important to be able to articulate thoughts clearly and in a meaningful way. I think it will always be important to be able to do math in your head without the aid of a calculator. -
Teachers Should Be Paid More

Can you please tell us the skills which are needed to teach kids these days. Do they still need to know how to read, write and do math? -

Hi. I have never had a membership here. I newly found this website while using a search engine. I have views that are at times right and left. I don't limit myself to one narrow minded way of thinking but am instead open to all ideas and points of view. -
Lets see some specific examples. Show us the contracts and which sections were broken.

Teachers Should Be Paid More
Peanutbutter replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Teachers make $50-70k a year. This is more than enough money and more than fair enough to have every summer off, 30 sick days, and whole host of other benefits. Not to mention a great pension. -
You're wrong. Some Popes have been African in the past. It was centuries ago but still their have been black Popes.

I hope the people are ok. Terrible and sad. -
That's not at all what I had posted. Many things in society today have limits on them, I don't see how this should be any different. late term abortions and live abortions should be banned. Women still have plenty of time to choose to end their pregnancy should they so choose. However we cannot even have a grown up discussion about it without the pro life camp screaming. They basically put their fingers in their ears and won't hear anything at all. Putting limits on abortions isn't an attack, it's being reasonable and prudent. I say lets talk about it openly, candidly, responsibly and reasonably as adults.
-
Many people see morality as irrelevant and the only thing that matters is the law, the Constitution and the Charter. Morals, ethics be damned.
-
We're on the same page here for sure. Murder is definitely not the correct term but the pro life camp always uses it and it turns people off, including myself. I don't think it's only Christian fundamentalists but they are the loudest and arguably the most powerful opposition to abortion in North America. Reasonable limits should be set but I doubt any politician has any desire to even talk about this issue, certainly not the current government at any rate. The pro choice camp sees any limits at all the same as an outright ban on abortion and I'm not sure why they do but that's what they scream any time someone tries to talk about it. I don't see how ending late term and live abortions is an attack on a woman's right to choose, I really don't. We have limits in place for all sorts of things, this shouldn't be any different. Surely 4-5 months is enough time for a woman to decide if she wants to bring the child to full term.

So is walking your girlfriend on a leash degrading them?
Peanutbutter replied to Argus's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
You make good points kimmy and some valid questions as well. I'm not sure a "right" answer is clear. Would it be any different then explaining to a child a gay couple embracing, holding hands or kissing in public? I'm not sure. -
The new proposed law seems to deal with dual citizens only. primarily targeting the so called "Canadians of convenience". It's not having different classes of citizens at all. If people don't want to lose their citizenship then they shouldn't be involved with terrorism. Simple and makes perfect sense. Dual citizenship is not a right but a privilege. If they value their citizenship then they should conduct themselves accordingly.

I'm not sure that religion belongs in a science classroom but a world religion course should be a mandatory course for every student. In my view it's better for students to make informed decisions and have the facts instead of relying on half truths from the internet and hearsay.
-
Like I said, murder in the general meaning of the word, is most likely the incorrect term. I'd like to see some limitations on when a woman can choose to have an abortion, that's all. I'm not talking about taking away a woman's right to choose here, only that the ending of a pregnancy is the ending of a life in the general sense. Surely you cannot disagree with that. Someone refusing to give up a kidney for a loved one would be certainly selfish but I don't think it would equate to murder.
-
It's not the same thing at all. People who are on transplant lists need this surgery to live, people rarely need abortions to live. People need births in order for the baby to live. Abortion ends that chance at life where as surgery saves a life. As I've plainly stated, it's quite simple. Abortion is murder. Murder probably isn't the correct term mind you but I'll use it because I cannot think of a better one. Remove all emotion from the subject. Abortion ends a life, plain and simple.
