Rasism isn't an all or nothing situation, most people are not racially biased against all let's say non-whites. His job position demands he be non racially sterotyping. And "stock native' jokes are racial sterotyping and in fact bigotry, whether you choose to see it or not. More over he gave the joke his approval by forwarding it. I am ashamed that he is a BC MP. Was discussing this thread with my partner of 27 years, and how some are presenting that reverse sexism is happening. he agress that it is. I find Drea's points of if a women hits nothing happens physically serious, but if a man does, it is serious. But I agree I do not approve of violence towards either gender. Having said that, I am not sure if it is reverse sexism, or simply the existing gender sexism that is also restructive to males. I will use his example to me. A few years back on the job, he works in a planner mill pushing buttons, it of course is a manly man setting. But his formun, a male, actually sexually harrassed him, and kept coming up and putting his arm around him. Until my husband freaked on him and told to stay away from him. However, as he is a man, he was told by his union and the mill management to just suck it up and move along. If it had been a woman, he feels sure something would've been done. Something to think about.

Negative consequences? Being forced to adhere to the Laws of the Land just as everyone else is, is negative consequences and punishment? Some of the grandchildren in question have just come back in the last 10 years. It was known prior to 10 years ago that there were 100's without citizenship, in fact there was general amnisty. I say they came back only to get in on the dual citizenship boat again as they knew it pertained to them too. I addressed it only to point out why and if indeed the leaving was because of persecution why do think you they were keeping dual citizenship? Why come back? Why ask for government interference nowadays? In fact, they still do not want government interference with their lives.

Here is a really good example of systemic anti-woman rhetoric alive and well on TV. Last night while watching CSI Las Vegas, the CSI were trying to do a reverse trumped up murder scene, and were trying to decide who to get involved, or not. They would not go to the DA and get "her" to help because she was a strictly by the book "bitch". And yes, they used the word bitch. 1. It showed Catherine as being actually weak willed, or nicely complianent for going along with such BS 2. Showed those women who stand firm in what they believe is correct as being "bitches" Men would never be so labelled on TV for being firm in their stance. Shows one how far there is to go yet.
