Manitoba chief wants cell phone revenue
Catchme replied to noahbody's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is Bush's and the USA's fault, they insisted that the air space over their country was theirs all the way up. Just so they could accesss names and flight records of everyone flying over. FN reserves are nations within this nation, if our air space is our air space, so is their airspace their airspace. -
wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest,

Such a yawn, yet another propaganda hate Iran thread, it really is getting quite rude wasting all this band width on spreading hate in multiple threads.

Can Harper Learn from the Terminator?
Catchme replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It is NOT possible for Harper to learn from anyone he is an egomaniac control freak who believes in the Rapture. -
More like an example of the tendency of many on this forum to go straight for the strawman or the ad hominem. I've had ad hominems thrown at me (I think by this very poster) that weren't even based on anything I had posted. I've only been here a week, but I'm about ready to pack it in. Very juvenile, overall. Some posters, IMO like that which you mention, seem to be paid by someone to provide some type of service to attack the poster, or deflect away from what was presented in an effort to turn the page, so people will not ten to read the whole thread, or page in question. Not juvenille, though they would like to make it appear as such, it is actually a propaganda ploy that was exercised on other talk forums, in the lead into the USA illegally attacking Iraq, and the whole mess that has happened sense. It is just another way to try and stop the voices of truth. Hopefully, you do not allow them to silence you.

Dion's popularity slides further.
Catchme replied to Fat Freddie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They didn't mention Dion getting shouted down. No, they mentioned him getting booed is all. As was, lacking courage and being slithery and slimmy Harper. -
I voted NO they won't use it, and I wanted to say this is just another attempted hate promotional thread, in the midst of other hate Iran proliferation threads that are listed in todays list. It becomes quite obvious that it is hate that is being promoted by people who are proliferating all the Iran threads that are hate slanted and trying to find, or to drum up support for some type of "preventative" action.

Racism in Lethbridge Causes National Boycott of Tim Horton's
Catchme replied to Catchme's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
It was NOT a joke, and she has 2 co-workers who are FN's, I find the underlaying bigotry expressed less than delightful. -
That doesn't pass the sniff test. Which lefties did that, where, and when? (Please provide sources.) figleaf, you are a glutton for punishment, no? " first the Lefties emptied all the crazy people out of the nut wards," when I see, such an utter display of ignorance, and nastiness towards the mentally ill and there extended families , which is horrendous. who go through hell, BTW. when in fact if | recall correctly it was Mike Harris, that emptied the psychiatric ward????? it's not worthy, but, you, I hope will have fun with it! Cause that's all it's worth, ridicule. Throw in a dose of contempt. IMO, though waste of time. Exactly, the anti-Christ hate filled evangelical Dominionists first play through political life was enough back in the Irish famine days. Where a million Irish died, many in the fields with their mouths green from eating grass. Because of the whacked religious cults. http://www.mindfully.org/Industry/2005/Eva...omics1may05.htm

Racism in Lethbridge Causes National Boycott of Tim Horton's
Catchme replied to Catchme's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Shoulda read the linked story Drea, it was put there by an employee of Tim Horton's. And I too love Timmy's, but am writing a letter of complaint and will boycott all Timmy's, the employee was NOT fired. -
Dion's popularity slides further.
Catchme replied to Fat Freddie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Harper would have gotten just as booed and heckled, if not more. Remember they were there protesting the CPC government's action. So, if Dions popularity has slid, so has the CPC's by the same measure. -
10 Things Christians and Atheists Can and Must Agree On....
Catchme replied to M.Dancer's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
what fact? What "fact" tells us that Canada is a majority Christian religion? What I said was: "based on the fact this is a majority Christian country." Do you honestly believe Drea, Canada and the U.S. would have progressed and prospered in the absence of Christianity? We know for a fact up to RECENTLY Canada has supported Christianity and has used Christianity to the countries advantage in helping keep the workforce, decent, law abiding, hard working and committed to family and church. This is all changing fast. As I look out the window this moment a teenage girl pushing a baby carriage, proceed on a strangers lawn to steal a handful of flowers to give to the little girl in the carriage, then proceeds to discard a half litre bottle of soft drink all over the sidewalk and throws the empty bottle into the middle of the roadway and continues on her way. You can shove your new Canada Drea and the government that goes with it. The key is they used Christianity to indoctrinate people into a colonialistic mentality and slave work ethics. The fostered belief in the Christ myth was to exploit peoples and resources only, it had very little to do with a diety. That is nonsense using an example of am teen age girl pushing a baby carriage littering it does not represent Canada going bad in anyway shape or form. In fact, IMO, Canada's going bad can be traced to bad Canadian corporation activies at home and around the world. and the current anti-Christ government of Harper's. -
Again, people who exploit people by using the notion of God are poison. Like the Creationists, and those who like to shove their myth dogma down the throats of others.

So what you are saying agnostics are sitting on the fence? Thanks august Dawkins is extremely intelligent, and an empathetic human.

You forgot a few: - inability to be responsibile for actions, blame others as opposed to self - shifting sands of commentary, trying to slither away when facts are presented - trying to tar others to try lessen what they are doing - inability to see facts and hold a conflicted stance that is not based on reality, nor can it be aligned with it. - does not get out into the real world to understand why their conflicted stance is useless in real world settings

Clones? Glad to see you recognize it is just your uninformed opinion at work with you, and that your willing to inform people that is all you have to offer, that's a start. Though editing posts of yours that were preceding to exibit something else, that was not even close to what was there, is a little off actually. But I guess if one wants to deflect away from labels and erroneous conjecture and strawmen scenarios one uses, one will try anything. Sorry, can't comment on these mythical Muslim women in Canada you speak of in your newly edited post, as you have provided no evidence, as far as I know it could be more wild conjecture on your part. But it is a good example where extremists Christian dominionists would end up if they held sway.

The separation of church and state was a founding tenet of the U.S. constitution, written up in part by Christians who saw the faults of the British Government, and wanted none of the same. why should you, an athiest, have any idea at all where theism belongs. Hey, aren't you the one who said that religious extremists should have their tongues removed and their hands mutilated? That makes YOU and extremist. Yep! True!Atheism is a religion - it's a polytheistic religion. The gods of atheists are the Self. Each atheist sees himself as a universe unto himself. There's no greater fanatic than a ranting atheist bigot who doesn't have an inkling of the importance, let alone the meaning of the separation of state and church. *clap* *clap* *clap* WTG betsy, you go girl, keep on setting up that emotional straw man discription of what you believe an atheist to be, or at least spoon fed pap, about what they are supposed to be...And to say they do not know the impotance of separation of church and state, nor the meaning of it. Well, that is even a bigger strawman that you built to kick down. You provide no evidence, no substantive example, no juxposition, well, no anything actually, and yet you want to people to just suck it up as if it is the truth, because you say so. And to boot you label them as bigots, all the while espousing absolute bigotry erroneous strawmen perspectives.

During the interview Mike Weinstein spoke of the whole rapture thing, and, interestingly he quoted his wife's words. The Evangelical Christians look on the Jewish, like the Pilgrims, looked at the Turkey prior to , thanksgiving dinner. I get a real vivid image and understanding from that. Really, it is the Domionists who are the driving force behind this, in their insane attempt to control, if can't control, destroy the planet. Or rather those who control the Dominionist's.

I don't think you are able to reason critically in this area. Again, the U.S. started the freedom when they separated church from state, 100s of yrs ago. Because of this movement, most Christian nations now enjoy freedoms, not in spite of it. And whatever you think, at least you can see that Islamist nations are not free yet. Why, women are mere property, adulterers can get stoned and Christians go to prison in Muslim nations. Here, Muslims are free to worship. No, actually sharkman, the US did not start the freedom, the people, who had the vision based upon knowledge and history of action in Europe, started the freedom. Those people were; progressive Christians/ Quakers, and Freemasons. There was actually more Freemason than other. The USA came after the fact. Please do not give the USA, as an independant entity, greater store in history than it deserves. Canada, and how we developed, played a very significant part in how democracy has unfolded around the world. Also, what are you talking about "Christian" nations? There is NO nation, except for perhaps the USA that runs around calling itself a "Christian" nation, as an identifier. And I am sure the Christians in; Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, the Emerates, Turkey, Lebanon, Indonesia, Dubai, and in most every, if not ALL countries, where Islam is the main religion, would be surprised to hear they were in jail. particularily when they are our in society functioning as they always have. Just as they have been free to worship Jesus. sheesh, sharkman you need to get out and about in the world a bit more and learn yourself some actual facts instead of regurgitating the false drival from Hicks and Combee on world history, or from wherever you got it.

Jerry Falwell. Dead and gone.
Catchme replied to Higgly's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And can you blame him, when Falwell preached for decades that civil liberties are 'satanic' and should be eliminated? He probably has no idea that people should have the right to protest, wherever they want whenever they want. Jerry Falwell bastardized morality so much that this poor person could even justify murder in his mind and he probably thought that he'd still go to Heaven, since he was only killing unbelievers. Excellent points cybercoma, and very accurate and true. This is, what you get when first you advocate against civil liberties and then advocate superiority of religion and rewards attained when acting for "God". This believing whatever you do is okay, as long as you accept the fact that Jesus died for your sins past present and future, leads to the dangerous belief that if you murder/injure in God's name or for God that you will still be "saved" and next to God no matter what. How can people, like Falwell preach such hate and lies, that totally are counter indicative of the 10 Commandments, the Golden Rule, and indeed the teachings of Jesus that are represented in the New testament? But yet Falwell, and others like him, somehow have twisted it that they can forgo the teachings of the Bible as long as they believe ,they know what "God" wants them to do...like embody most all of the 7 deadly sins and still think you're superior. -
Good point dea, western civilization as secularists, and I would say, progressive Christians too, have influenced our western NA culture. As sharkman pointed out, the reality of truth behind the need for the separation of chuch and state, was in part fought for by Chrisitians, of course not the evangelical and catholic fundamentalist kind that existed back then and still today. But his point on atheists not knowing where theism belongs is a confused bit of thinking. Of course atheists should, and would, know where theism belongs, why would they not? Now drea, I do not really believe that your an extremist, because you have said that which sharkman mentioned. I take it as a symbolic thought process of punishment you were meaning. However, if you meant it, there is no mechanism in our society where this type of negative and harm to body parts actions against another can occur. And I know I certainly do not want Canada to embody that type of ideal, nor capital punishment. People can most certainly worship whatever they choose freely, as long as they keep their choices from impinging upon mine, when they try to force their choices upon others, such as the Dominionists would, then that is where tolerence ends.
