The Conservative Government are going to GOUGE 5% on Content Insurance. The Conservative government has a vested interest in this tax grab.

Not many. Its a huge voter letdown. Nothing matches the hype. While the topic can be provocative and opinionated, its not a vote getter in the end. Especially when you get past the Nimby effect.

The Shell game continues, Harper giveth with his left hand, and he taketh away with his right. No doubt this tax splits across Idealogical lines when it comes to being for it or against it. It is why the CPC will be under pressure in CPC ridings in BC and Ontario. Not all CPC voters want this tax. So are you with Riverwind, ToadBrother etc... or the populist movement?

The media was kept away from the scene on the day the OPP arrested the protestors. They weren't on the DCE but were dragged across onto the property arrested and some tasered multiple times. Most of the people arrested charges were dropped because the video evidence and still photo evidence showed the OPP taking people who were off the property and pulling them onto the property to arrest them. It looks like a scene from a laurel and hardy movie or the keystone cops. Regardless, that isn't the Only time that police engage in arresting people from Six Nations. OPP and Local Police will arrive at the location of the offender. They are all videotaped and identified while at protest sites. They are then told to go down to the police station and sign bail conditions that forbid them from going to the site. IIRC there is only 1 person left at DCE. While McGuintys handling of the situation is weak, the comments above are rediculous but play into a good story and sell papers. McGuintys failure has nothing to do with Mike the Coward Harris. I have no use for a person who sold out his police force, but Harris is the one who went into denial. That is a separate issue. You might want to find the answer as to why the Federal Conservative Government purchased the Douglas Creek Estates? http://www.ainc-inac.gc.ca/ai/mr/nr/j-a2007/2-2856-eng.asp 1992: Henco Industries Ltd. purchased 40 hectares of land for what it would later call the Douglas Creek Estates lands 1995: Six Nations sued the federal and provincial governments over the land. 2005: The subdivision plan for Douglas Creek Estates was registered with title to the property guaranteed by the province of Ontario. Looks to me like the Developer did pretty good.

In the middle of a Recession, you want the Conservative government to spend $4.3Billion in a single year to bribe the Ontario Government to implement the HST? That is half the money the Conservatives took from the EI fund. That is 12 TIMES the amount of money the Conservatives are willing to put back into the EI fund across the entire country in one year. It is 12 times more important for the Conservatives to have Ontario within the HST fold. It is 5 Times more important for the Conservatives to have BC within the HST fold. These are two of the largest Provinces and the CPC is looking for more tax revenues. It is worth $4.3 Billion in seed monies to the Federal Conservative government to go ahead on this massive tax grab. The Provinces didn't ask for the HST the Federal government greased their palms to make it an attractive option to get into the publics pocket.

Wasn't on the Provinces Radar screen until the Federal Bribe came along.Get rid of the Conservative Bribe... Then lets see the Province go it alone without the umbilical cord. Harper Sales Tax. Are you for this tax? If not say so. Many Conservatives and Liberals on this forum are totally for it. Of course I disagree with McGuintys tax grab. I also Disagree with the Conservatives pushing it down Ontarians throats. It a Conservative and Liberal Scheme.

As Long as Prime Minister Harper supports giving $4.3 Billion to implement the tax, and since the Conservative government has a net benefit in increased tax revenue when the tax is implemented, Harper owns this tax.I DARE ..... I DOUBLE DOG DARE.... The Conservatives to pull the $4.3 BILLION DOLLAR BRIBE.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/is-ndps-election-on-the-hst-bad-news-for-the-tories/article1361609/ Is it any wonder after reading this, the NDP have targeted the $4.3 Billion that the Conservatives are spending to implement the tax in Ontario. http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Opposition+could+thwart+plan/2195604/story.html If this motion passes, it would hinder the Harper Government in handing over $4.3 Billion to Ontario. Should this be a confidence vote?

You have been raised well. I too was raised that it was my duty to vote. I too have plugged my nose, even regretted it once, but then you get to change it the next time. My biggest struggle when I was younger was and still is to some degree on the municipal level from the Mayor, down to the school trustees. Its when I get here, that I put myself in others shoes who don't follow politics Federally or Provincially and have no idea who the candidates are what any political party stands for. I mean no knowledge. So they have no idea who to vote for even if they feel they should vote. Thus they stay home. I have alot of respect for people who vote and who follow politics because it is a duty. When I read your comments about no party on the "right", it becomes clear to see why the CPC are moving up and the LPC is moving down. That is where the Liberal Voters are moving and the CPC may get there majority because of it. -
My Point is don't rely on one source. And quite frankly, I have numerous non union Toyota operations within 2 hours of me that have closed their doors and some of these operations pay as little as $11 to $17. Others that are closing pay much more and are also Non unionized Toyota owned or partnered. There is a few ill informed or idealogically driven people here who foolishly believe that Unions are behind GM troubles. If it were only that easy. Anyone who has had any serious dealings with GM at anytime, would know who runs the show, or more importantly, who isn't running the show. GM has huge egos, a huge ship, and is one of the slowest bureaucratic operations when it comes to changing directions or locating accountability. However, I will admit that GM is quick when it comes to litigation and threats. Seriously, regardless of anyones opinion of our American friend, even his dated service in the Automotive industry still provides a good insight of which much can still be applied to this day. The Automotive industry is a difficult business to shrink down into simply black and white, good and evil, aspects. Probably why some people choose to bash the workforce and ignore things like Nissan having their trucks built in the US by Chrysler IIRC. With regards to Toyotas numbers from 2007 you wonder how a company that lead the way two years ago went into its FIRST EVER deficit for a 70year old company in 2008.

Strike one against the CPC. If you include fountains in other cities... thats Strike TWO against the CPC. HST would be strike three, and you are paying thrice on that baby. One to fund the tax, two to implement the the tax, and three to put the tax upon the tax. CPC is out.... So, who are you voting for.... LOL -

You had no problem taking the benefits of these programs while you were being raised. Now that you are in a position to contribute you want to deny children the benefits you received? Public School, High School, College and University are social programs massively subsidized by the government, thus the tax payer. You think you did it on your own? You would never have been able to afford it. When your child gets sick with Cancer or your father is rushed into the Hospital for quintuple bypass. You won't be bled dry after he returns home. I have no problem supporting our society. I do have a problem paying for Mike Duffys meals -
