  1. My Nephew went to live with his mom in South Carolina. He has no Health Insurance. He got a job, bought a car, insured it himself, bought a motorcycle, insured it himself, bought a car and insured it himself. He was 16 through to 20 years of age when He bought his bike for $3200, his truck for $2000, his care for $1200. His insurance for all vehicles was Under $800.. This was in 2002. Because he was a flight trainer and the shit hit the fan regarding foreign flight trainers etc.... he had to return to Canada. And yes, many instructors are that young. Insurance for his $2000 truck here in Ontario was $5700. They wouldn't touch his bike. His car was $4000. Needless to say, he sold all his vehicles and in his mind Ontario Insurance companies can F/OFF. Its hard to disagree with someone trying to earn a living. Meanwhile its friggin nonsense that companies can't hire people under the age of 25 to drive for them. Having a license for 7 years is valueless. Its preventing our youth from getting a job, delivering autoparts, bottle water..etc. This is bullshit. And a person who is eligible to go to Afghanistan at 18 but not able to drive in Ontario to earn a living is bullshit too. This risk aversion is out of control. You have a protected industry which makes great monies. The purpose is not all about the poor hard done by insurance company. On another note, I give Guyser all the credit in the world. He defends the position of Satan with class and consideration to all those who post. Insurance people aren't the most loved bunch by the general public. But I will hold off on any public hangings for the foreseeable future
  2. Credit cards are another protected industry, like insurance, and if my card is fraudulently used, they swallow it. Which is exactly the opposite of what your have stated your industry does. You stated, u take the risk for autothefts, then pass on the Risk costs back onto the consumer regardless of the massive profits the Industry wallows in. I am suggesting that your sample space is the Entire driving population of Ontario. The % of Fraud is no higher or lower then the % of fraud within your own industry. (Ssshh, you probably think you have no crooks within the industry). Everyone is a good insurance person like you... I could only wish... Holy shit, thats it ? 32 companies within a 40 year period? Holy sheepshit, I have seen more companies in on city close within a 3 month period then u listed within 40 years. Life is good. Enjoy it and Respect it.
  3. Dang you're gruesome.. I am not done my OJ yet
  4. Back off and leave these two conspiring hard working Conservative Senators alone.
  5. After this election he will be both yours and JBG to deal with.... Enjoy!
  6. My buddie had Quintuple bypass 2 years ago. He was out in 4 days and showed up on the 5th day, with a pillow on his chest. He was looking for work. True Story.
  7. I dunno. I know many good driving seniors who have never had an accident. And the day they do have one, someone will point to their age. I have seen many middleaged people, engaged in multiple accidents over a 15 years span. Dare we say its their age? Fact is, people drive, accidents happen and some are going to have more accidents then others. Insurance companies do very well and if they could get away with paying nothing they would. I only have to look at the US medical insurance when I think of risk and fairness....
  8. The government would lose revenues and the Insurance industry would boom. Congestion and lost initiative creates more accidents. Intersections is where the accidents are. Slow speed, congested intersections.
  9. Erm, dealing with Insurance Fraud is the problem of the Insurance companies and should NEVER have any bearing on rates to the individuals. There is a % of the Insurance Industry that committs fraud as well, do we get our rates reduced because of that? Absolutely not, we eat it or even have our rates increased more. There is a % of people who scam, regardless of location or background, age or vehicle. Overall I have yet to see the Protected Insurance Industry close up shop because it loses money. Infact, its such a horrible business, Banks had to get a piece of the action. Insurance Industry is great at making their case and protecting their interests. But overall, its a free lunch. The Gravy Train starts here.
  10. JBG usually does a better job discussing Canadian Politics then being a low level hatchet man. Since this thread is completely off topic and rather stupid, and I can't get these 2 minutes back.. Here is something neutral and funny (kinda) http://www.101reasonstokillallthelawyers.com/
  11. Iggys getting tossed over bow and he doesn't even realize it.
  12. YOU KILLED KENNEY .... YOU BASTARDS
  13. Go back to Sleep Bill, thats what bad goverments thrive on.
  14. What else can u do with the unwashed.
  15. I believe the NDP went into that Sept 2008 election at 12 to 13%. There are polls that have trended for 3 months at 19% and this is what is drawing fire upon them. Regardless the NDP range over 80 years is between 13 and 20%. That has not changed. There have been two blips, one in 1958 with the Dief the Chief Sweep and the NDP/CCF dropped to 8%. The 1993 Era where they dropped to 6%. The NDP did not harvest any suggest 37% in the election of 1988. Infact, quite frankly, the Liberals campaigned on the back of the NDP to switch from 100+ years as freetraders (never implemented), to becoming the protectionists of Canadas interests. The Conservatives had just switch from 100years of Protectionism to FreeTraders. Mulroney changed positions during his 1st term of office. Again, Mulroneys view was NOT shared by a Majority of Canadians, but it was in tune with the NDP. As I said earlier, people may agree with the NDP , but they will take another alternative if that alternative says the same thing, whether they follow through or not. One word: GRANT DEVINE Regardless, the list of NDP balanced Budgets is superior to that of any other party and that includes the Bob Rae Era. Bob Rae was an excellent speaker and a poor New Democrat. Failed NDP leaders join the Liberals. Bob Rae is not the benchmark, he is the Cellar. Considering the Federal State of Finances, Conservatives are not doing such a shit hot job. Lucky for Conservatives the poop doesn't stick to them. Its good to have people fooled if you are in politics and have been poor fiscal managers since taking office. And if you consider the Martin Finance era superior, then these Conservatives have never been in the same league. I guess thats where i disagree with u. I don't believe the general public are going to get all hot and bothered over the Senate, or Senate reform or anything dealing with Government moving the deck chairs on the Titanic Senate. But I do like a few of these adds.... now that u got me looking and I think these "might" be effective. http://www.ndp.ca/tv-ads And yes there is a Senate one in there. What has me curious is why the media and hacks get all up in arms when the lamest of useless pork institutions is threatened.
  16. The NDP platform and message appeals to a Majority of Canadians. That doesn't translate into votes or seats or support for the party. Ironically they are mutually exclusive and that , I believe has been the history of the CCF and NDP Federally since their creation. Its good to have the whipping boy around. Its amazing that despite all the mud slinging after 80 years, they are still around and their % of vote remains roughly the same. Some ironies in some of these articles. IIRC the CCF policy to Abolish the Senate came from Western Canada and the CCF. The NDPs forebearers. Infact the CCF started in Alberta. Whats funny is how the Lorne Gunter got it wrong when talking about Abolishing the Senate.
  17. So what is the deal with this Doug Finley. Why did he get appointed to the Senate ?
  18. While the Conservatives are in Majority Territory, the NDP are at their traditional high water mark, not necessarily floundering. Seems people trust the Conservatives even though their record is pretty shitty Federally and not all the hot Provincially, Especially when compared to the the Provincial NDP governments that have existed across Canada. Sounds good to me, I have no regards for the Senate. I kknow lots of Liberals and Conservatives want to keep it. Most public don't care one way or the other. No one would miss it. Regardless its not a vote getter, but it may motivate their base. Sure doesn't look good for Senators. They are in trouble underemployed and overpaid. There is little value to Canadians, but they are self important and loyal party hacks. If the point is to get the NDP on the Front Page (I doubt that happened), but it does get the NDP press, then its successful. I guess we (me and you) could talk about Bev Oda or Finleys hubby.

  20. With the threat of an Election on and it looks like its coming soon. Will the Conservatives Get a Majority Government.
  21. Conservatives I know, really like the HST. I think the election is coming. HST won't be an issue.
  22. I didn't know that the NDP did town halls on the telephone. Thats pretty cool. I'd be curious to know how many were involved. Regardless, you make a few assumptions. 1) That Layton or the NDP are going to prop up Harper for Scraps. 2) That the Liberals/Ignatieff are interested in Negotiation. If Ignatieff were interested in Negotiation he has a blackberry and laytons parlimentary address. Quite Frankly, I don't think the NDP are a cheap date for the Conservatives. And the Liberals have decided to stop sleeping with the Cons. The BQ are in dreamland. It means election, unless you think that Harper is going to give the NDP what they want? I think Harper wants an election more. I don't believe any NDPer is embarrassed Layton is talking to Harper. However the NDP , unlike the Liberals, do not have the luxury of propping up a government for nothing in return for the people.
  23. I figure the Conservative Senate Bagman would have bumped this story by now. And Lies can be justified if they lie is made by a Conservative. NOT
