  1. I'm glad there is some Liberal bias in the media. Something has to counterbalance the Conservative bias in the media.
  2. Wonder what a poll like this at Freedominion might reveal.
  3. Another sweeping statement.
  4. Every once in a while I still run across people who give credit to Mike Harris for the employment growth in Ontario.
  5. Just checked my Body Mass Index (BMI) this morning from the charts supplied in the Toronto Star. I'm at 19.5. The danger zones are below 18.5 and above 24.9.
  6. Even if it's a homosexual relationship with Jesus Christ? -k <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This isn't a place for stating personal religious beliefs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, should have been more clear. From what Christians tell me over and over as well as from what I have read in various places, as long as you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you shall be saved. Period.
  7. Martin bought Belinda, and she was more than willing to go. She cared more about her personal career than representing her riding, she deserves every nasty word or bad publicity that gets thrown her way. It had nothing whatsoever to do with leadership. Perhaps you weren't listening to her interviews the night of her departure. She was already deciding to leave that weekend no matter what. It had to do with Harper's leadership but she didn't want to get into details (as with her relationship with McKay). It was David Peterson that came up with the idea of offering her the cabinet post that brought her further across the floor to join the Liberals.
  8. As long as you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you shall be saved. Period.
  9. Hanging chads, pregnant chads and a whole lot of old democrats who accidentally voted for Buchanan because the ballot was so confusing. Not only that, WMDs in Iraq, the commission on 911, and the Downing Street Memo are clear indications the wrong man became president in 2000.
  10. The "world-class city" and Olympic bid fiascos were when Mel Lastman coupled with Mike Harris Conservative governmetn support. Lastman tried it once before with the Ontario Liberal support too. Thank god now Toronto has come to its senses working towards what needs to be done instead of the flash and no-substance of the years gone by.
  11. Another balanced budget and a second (?) year of being debt-free. Where did this debt come from? I don't recall there being any Liberal or NDP government in Alberta to blame. Could it be that the debt was .... Conservative government fiscal mismanagement? Ah, but I see with all this cash floating around, they are soon to return to their spending ways.
  12. Best to ignore posters that cannot post anything related to a topic and only use vitriolic criticisms as their stance. While I am a fan of one-line zingers, at least kimmy and Black Dog have got the brains to be funny about it.The problem is, comments like this are quite seriously, trolling. Nothing of substance, just kindergarten-level insults. If they were funny, or showed even the slightest bit of irony or sarcastic wit, it might be a different story. Instead, it wastes everyone's time and detracts from and derails any discussion of the actual topic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, I've only reponded to his posting once or twice and got totally obnoxious answers in return littered with obscenties, and insults. Thing is, he purposely targets lefties with criticisms that he is exactly guilty of and refuses to substantiate any of his claims. I thought the days of Craig Read were over.
  13. I don't recall ever even having discussed this issue with you. As far as I'm concerned you are, to be as polite as I can, a nonentity. Have you ever posted anything of note? Apparently not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ummmm first off, **DELETED.** secondly, the more posts of yours that I read the more I think you may be a close relative of RightWingers or worse. You spew hate around this board continuoulsy. Sorry if I touched a nerve big boy. Carry on with the Hate. The Simpleton Nonentity, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, along with Melanie and others, I too have made it to his hate list. But we're not the ones who suppress free speech. We'll let him carry on with this bile and sweeping insults.
  14. Love those push polls. Almost allows freedom of speech.
  15. That was tongue-in-cheek. But you can't ignore the fact the Layton's socialists (as well as the Liberals and Bloc) were prepared for an all-nighter as well as extend Parliament into the summer. The fiscally responsible hard working types? They were waiting for their busses to go home.
  16. Maybe they should have said "It's not the lie. It's the sex."
  17. Yeah, just today I read one about leftwingers being whiners and that they don't believe in freedom of speech.
  18. Harper should be blasting his MPs for being a bunch of lazy $@*# leaving early instead of staying at work late and working hard like the socialists did in the House.
  19. Academically, your choice is the correct one but not necessarily the reasons you state. I remember so clearly in Econonics 100. My professor stating in front of the class: If you had to make a choice between low unemployment or low inflation and interest, the choice is always low inflation and interest. High inflation of course, devaluates the currency making investment less attractive as well as making debt payment more difficult, etc etc. Many politicians will tell you that they will create an environment for investment which will in turn create jobs. But job creation is not their purpose. In an overheated economy, over-employment drives inflation and that's bad.
  20. And you think Harper cares more?
  21. Which begs the question: What makes a good leader? A good leader can instill loyalty in his/her team with confidence. The true test is not during times of prosperity but times of crisis. Under the current circumstances, under Martin, the Liberal popularity has plummetted but the government is still surviving. His team appears in solidarity. Within caucus, who knows how much confidence there really is. Would the Liberals be experiencing better prospects with another leader (say, under Chretien whom they so eagerly booted out?)? Is Martin the best that there can possibly be? Since taking over, the Martin government has been in crisis management. Although, this is no fault of his own, would a better leader have driven the agenda albiet even for a minority government instead of the agenda driving him? Is there somebody waiting in the wings to pick up what Martin will drop? Now consider Harper. The current circumstances couldn't be better for any other party at any other time in recent Canadian history. The current government has by default inherited the most scandalous corruption ever (seems as if that will continue to be the case for every consecutive government). The Conservatives certainly has capitalized with increased popularity. So why in the best of times has their rise in popularity stalled at only with their traditional supporters? Is the Conservatives really instilled with confidence and loyalty? What would the caucus meetings truly reveal? After five leaders, is Harper the best that there can possibly be?
  22. Those are your words. Prove they are true. Show us the CTV transcript of the interview. When all else fails, resort to personal attack. Typical.
  23. Ok then. You make it sound as if that were a true interview. Then show us the exact source or link in which this interview actually took place. I'm not looking for Air Farce or some other parity. I want the exact interview in which McClellan took part in and said exactly these words you reproduced here. The only reference you made was that it was from ctv. I want to see the transcript of this interview from the official CTV website. Otherwise, you may be crediting the wrong source.
  24. Obviously fictitious, yes but I too had a lot of trouble with it. I scanned through all three pages of this thread trying to find its source because, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it came from some right-wing fundamentalist web page. (Who knows what % of the information in the internet is false, anyways.) It's happened before with the likes of Harper calling Martin a child-porn supporter, the Ontario Tory campaign team calling McGuinty a reptilian child-eater and then Eves with the pointy-headed remark. If the interview was serious, it was on the verge of slander and I too wanted to know where it came from. Even a rightwinger like I Miss Reagan couldn't believe it. Although I am a fan of the Royal Canadian Air Farce, I do not have the ability to remember every singe skid they did. This is important information that should not have been omitted.
