  1. Wouldn't it though? Ezra is right in my opinion, these files didn't belong to Holland, he knew that, why was he reading it? It only takes a brief glance at the first couple of files to understand that these weren't his documents. The fact that he kept looking is a poor reflection on a repeatedly unethical person. ...... Even the Liberals are too good for this guy. Dion needs to axe him before he costs them more, and more, and more. I agree. If mail for someone else was put in your mailbox, would you open it and read it, or return it to the P.O. (or the owner). This is indeed very telling about the character of Marc Holland et al who support hijacking private property, rifling through them and reading personal information. As for not missing the boxes, why would they out of 100s, unless they needed a particular file for reference. We moved six years ago, I still have a box in my basement unopened....
  2. Good post, Geoff. You changed my mind, sort of. I like this forum because it has a bit of everything and I wouldn't want it to be less. Then again, everything? To what point should we let someone else choose for us? You make good points, but now that there are more of these posts appearing, at least having their own forum would isolate them from the main stream and not clutter up the main forums. It would also save us time and bother. I wouldn't ban people for politely posting an opinion, this sure isn't Rabble.
  3. The UNSC Resolution of record would be #1723 of November 2006, which re-authorized multinational forces and security provisions for Iraq until terminated by request: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nation...Resolution_1723 http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2006/sc8879.doc.htm Thanks.
  4. Ezra has nailed it down, Grit crusader just a snoop By EZRA LEVANT (the Calgary Sun link doesn't work) http://theblackkettle.blogspot.com/2007/04...just-snoop.html -snip- But before Holland returned them, he opened and read each one. He had no shame about it. He announced it. He called a press conference to brag about it. He even had a Liberal staff member videotape him. The video is still posted on the Liberal party's website. This wasn't some rogue act by a loony-tune MP. It was sanctioned by Stephane Dion, the Liberal leader himself. In that video, individual personnel appraisals are shown on the screen, with actual names of employees who have had their human resources files thumbed through by Holland. The employees haven't even seen their files. But Holland has -- and so has the Liberal "research" staff. Holland was meticulous. There were 174 files, he says. He went through them all, to make sure there wasn't anything that was in the "public interest". -snip- But then, in the video that Holland himself made, it is clear the Tories didn't negligently leave them behind. They had been boxed, sealed, and addressed to the Tories' new offices. They simply were not picked up by Parliament's internal messenger service -- or intercepted by the Liberals. -snip- Politics is politics. But stealing and leaking private personnel files is too much. Stephane Dion didn't see fit to teach that to Mark Holland. Perhaps the RCMP should.
  5. Sheez, and here I thought it was the Illuminati messing around with those hanging chads
  6. Iran managed to win the propaganda war on the home front, they have deflected from domestic problems and united the people against a common enemy. They also proved that their enemy is weak, that they can continue to push the envelope and get away with pretty much anything. One thing I'm interested in sourcing is what U.N. mandated mission the Brits were on as reported in just about every article I read. I've tried searching but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. They should get their embassy people out of there now, I suppose somebody is stoking the flames, looks good on Iranian TV http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6515995.stm Protests at UK's Tehran embassy Iranian students protesting in Tehran Protesters chanted "death to Britain" and called for an apology Iranian students have thrown firecrackers and rocks into the British embassy compound during a protest in the capital Tehran. About 200 people demonstrated against what they say was the illegal entry into Iranian waters of 15 UK Royal Navy personnel captured nine days ago.
  8. Its G.W. again stirring it up you know how much hates Canada and our healthcare system - where's that conspiracy generator.
  9. ROTFLMAO Actually no, it was George W., you know after all he's in lock step with Harper
  10. Are you claiming that Britain has not in fact, released the co-ordinates, or are you inferring that CNN et al are just making it up and printing what they like. Now CNN and BBC wouldn't do that would they?
  11. Yikes, guess what day it is today
  12. No private definition needed, Britain wasn't conducting aggressive actions and was on a U.N. mandated mission, and, has released their co-ordinates. Iran must believe they stand to gain from this and Britain has no motive to prolong the mess, and surely does not want a military confrontation. Iran is obviously baiting the west but we should be careful about take the bait. If this is played out correctly, we can probably get more govts "on our side" as Iran is looking increasingly worse in this mess. Maybe Britain should buy Iran a few GPS systems as a goodwill gesture
  13. Can this be true, say it isn't so http://bourque.org/ Bourque's headlines this morning - maybe I need a stronger coffee Yikes! CHRETIEN: THE COMEBACK KID ? With the Liberal Party trailing the governing Conservative Party by a wide margin in recent polls, rumours of fact and facts of rumour have been percolating to the extent that disgruntled Liberal insiders, both pro-Dion and supporters of his leadership opponents, have been exchanging knowing glances, innuendo'd emails, and philandering phone calls, all to the effect that time has come to seek out a strong consensus-building Liberal with the kind of hands-on leadership qualities that can handle the challenge that befits a man who has won three successive majority elections: Jean Chretien. The man is said to be ready and waiting for the call. His longtime praetorian guard, pollsters, and spin-meisters are all girding for battle. "Pierre, the scenario is simple", confided a Toronto-based politico well-known to late-afternoon TV watchers, "one way or another, the odds are stacked against Stephane. He'll go down in the election and the call will immediately go out for Chretien to be drafted into service." Developing.
  14. Not really surprised at this, how naive some people are who believe the Beeb and of course the CBC areand impartial. From the Daily Mail The BBC has been accused of "shameful hypocrisy" over its decision to spend £200,000 blocking a freedom of information request about its reporting in the Middle East. The corporation, which has itself made extensive use of FOI requests in its journalism, is refusing to release papers about an internal inquiry into whether its reporting has been biased towards Palestine. BBC chiefs have been accused of wasting thousands of pounds of licence fee payers money trying to cover-up the findings of the so called Balen Report into its journalism in the region, despite the fact that the corporation is funded by the British public. Conservative MP David Davies said: "An organisation which is funded partly to scrutinise governments and other institutions in Britain appears to be using tax-payers money to prevent its customers from finding out how it is operating. That is absolutely indefensible." He added: "I think the BBC are guilty of shameful hypocrisy. What could possibly be in this report that could possibly be worth £200,000 to bury. What is it they feel is so awful in this report." A source close to the case said they believed that the BBC had spend in the region of £200,000 on the case so far, while another legal expert claimed the cost could be as much as £300,000.
  15. I like this from the NP, it is time to hand the hostages over, or.... http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/is...bf-a39b509371bc How we can fight Tehran The Iranian seizure of 15 British naval personnel is an outrage -- and an opportunity. Iran invaded Iraqi territorial waters, attacked British naval personnel enforcing resolutions of the UN Security Council and committed an act of piracy and kidnapping. Iran then displayed its captives on national television and compelled them to read coerced political statements. It forced the captured female sailor to wear the Islamic hijab, a violation of her Geneva Convention right to practice her own religion. These violent and lawless actions have shocked British and European public opinion. But they should not have surprised anyone. This latest crisis, however, opens a chance to mobilize European opinion to action. One of their own has been attacked and threatened with the prolonged abuse of its military personnel. The story will appear on television night after night after night. The longer it continues, the more British people and other Europeans will wonder: Is there anything we can do? And the good news is: Yes, there is. -snip- The bullying, blustering bravado of the Iranians should not conceal the truth that Iran is massively vulnerable to international pressure. For example: - Iran's decrepit refineries cannot produce enough gasoline for Iranian drivers. So, although Iran is a major oil exporter, it must import 40% of its gasoline. An international embargo on gasoline sales to Iran would inflict
  16. Guess I didn't see that, however I agree with his comments about some over the top posters MLW seems to be attracting lately. As I said, at least two other forums have closed, and they were not up to the standards of this one. www.post-gazette.com/pg/05192/536250.stm - and Europe's Muslims -- now representing between 5 percent and 10 percent of the ... This one is dated 2003: http://www.brookings.edu/views/op-ed/fello...nar20030301.htm More are on the way. Today, the Muslim birth rate in Europe is three times higher than the non-Muslim one. If current trends continue, the Muslim population of Europe will nearly double by 2015, while the non-Muslim population will shrink by 3.5 percent. cheers
  17. No, actually argus there are many more on the right who hate Canada, and Canadians, much like yourself and who are so full of ill wishes for "others" it is sickening. And who would also not know the truth if it bit them. Who are so lacking in historical knowledge as to appear to be lacking any rational thought abilities whatsoever. Especially when they post nonsense like that above of yours. No actually, Argus is right and this response is absolute rot, spurious and malicious nonsense. This site is attracting some loonies, probably because a couple of others have closed down. Argus and others do not 'hate Canada' or wish anyone ill will, that type of response is sickening.

  19. We know who is telling the truth and its not Iran....Britain has released the data proving they were in Iraqi waters. Now you have gone and done it. You know very well you are going to get an argument from a whole bunch of people. We all know the Brits are liars and the Iranians are right up there with truth and democratic justice. Borg Dang, I forgot that the west is always wrong - ME always right now what?
  20. Hmmm why has the video gone ? Not to mention if you have doubts about how desperate the Liberals are, make sure you catch the rerun of Mike Duffy Live tonite. Reid claims the reason the Liberals lost the last election was that they were screwed by the RCMP - he then goes on to expound the Conservatives were engaged in a cover-up because there was something major to hide. When it was pointed out the scandal took place under the liberals he rambled into a conspiracy theory. When the segment end Duffy pronounced it bizarre. The Liberals have lost it - totally How does that go - Thieves, Thieves Tramps and thieves....
  21. We know who is telling the truth and its not Iran....Britain has released the data proving they were in Iraqi waters.
  22. Toto, I'm not in Kansas anymore large tinfoil hat anyone
  23. Clearly you havn't read the links and the markings on the boxes, not to mention that they (libs.) knew who owned them and who to return the 'lost' documents to.
  24. They didn't need to open the boxes, they were clearly marked for transportation, obviously they were intercepted on the way to the new offices. You think the thieves actually put the labels on?
  25. Scott Reid to Mark Holland and Marlene Jennings: Thieves and Liars! A remarkable delivery in the House of Commons yesterday, when Conservative MP Scott Reid went after Liberal MPs Mark Holland and Marlene Jennings, accusing them of theft, of lying, and of being in contempt of Parliament. Go Scott Reid Full text of Reid's speech to the House: http://stevejanke.com/archives/220944.php it was probably a pre-existing label. That suggests that these documents were not in fact found in locked or unlocked drawers, cabinets and so on, but rather were actually in these boxes from the very start. That is one thing.
