It's a good add, it shows Layton as wanting the gov't to work and going to bat for the unemployed. The Liberals are falling further behind all the time, the optics are not good at all as the conservatives at the moment are heading into majority territory. I don't think Ignatieff will be around by next year.

Tories put stop to sex offender treatment
scribblet replied to Visionseeker's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's a dumb poll, unless you are a conservative you cannot know what that individual thinks, so therefore cannot vote in the poll. Cons might not believe in crime prevention, but Conservatives sure do, as well as strengthening and making sure that sentences are carried out etc. -
Talk about hysterical nonsense. The body bags were sent as part of a routine shipment because the supplies needed replenishing. Nothing sinister about it, if they hadn't stocked their supplies, they would scream about that too.

hmmm left wing sicko mentality in action here ( twilight zone music playing here)

U.S. Senate Votes To Cut Funds To ACORN
scribblet replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
ACORN is not a small obscure organization, it's huge receiving millions in federal funding. -
I don't seem to be the only person seeing it as an attack on the military, among other things... heck she apologized didn't she - sort of... http://www.kelowna.com/2009/09/14/liberal-...ilitary-family/

LOL Obviously if we have destabilization Michael Ignatieff is the one to blame, but I'm sure it will be spun some other way.
-
Nice spin... Notice now that she is really sorry that other people have "misinterpreted her message" and that she really nothing to do with. It sure seems as if Liberals are only proud of Canada when they are in power

This is Hedy Fry - she is a charletton, remember the I see burning crosses The flyer is shameful, it is a not so subtle attempt at painting Prime Minister Harper as being responsible for the death of our soldiers, it is the epitome of shameful ads/flyers. I suppose this is just the beginning..
-
Guess so, just as the Liberal ads will get more vitrolic - they allready have in Quebec.

The real Harper ! Do you think Ignatieff would want right wing ideologues on courts, or that he doesn't want a majority - really. Harper wasn't saying anything that each leader wants for their own party. As for not being part of a coalition, the Liberal party where certainly part of it, I'm looking at a picture now of the 3 amigos shaking hands on it.

I thought at first that this was a no brainer, Bryant just exhibited manic road rage or just went off the deep end. However, after reading more this morning, it appears that the cyclist was assaulting him and could have in fact, grabbed the steering wheel. If this is so, then it would explain the car veering into another lane etc.

I agree, the issue does deserve it's own area.

Healthcare Reform, Town halls and mobs.
scribblet replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Exactly !! ACORN brought in two busloads of prepped democrats some from out of district, to Spectre's meeting in PA. Moveon.org is also organizing democrats - talk about astroturfers LOL I'm appalled at the way the left is demonizing protesters, Nancy P. should remind herself about the time she told protesters she loved disrupters.. -
"Birthers" movement problem for GOP
scribblet replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I do wonder at some of these whacko theories, and if there isn't something that can be published to dispel them once and for all. http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_b...omo_code=83F2-1 Chris Matthews Wrong on Obama Birth Certificate Why not release all of the documents in question and put a stop to it, allowing it to fester doesn't help anyone. -
Good think he wasn't a conservative, the board would be really buzzing -

Czech ambassador to Canada recalled
scribblet replied to Dave_ON's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nonsense, why is it that there can be no reasonable discussion of immigration, refugees etc. without someone playing a race card.. Getting a handle on bogus refugees and keeping our expenses down, is not racist, -
Federal Funding of Gay Pride Parade
scribblet replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Apparently - The only reason there was a problem with the parade grant, was the amount, it was 10 x the usual, other wise it wouldn't have raised eyebrows. Harper has been governing from the centre if not a tad to the left - a fact which has kept the CPC in power. So far, no nods to anything socially conservative or religion - again - that dog don't hunt LOL Most people no longer buy into that nonsense, fortunately, but a few dinosaurs still cling to the old scary scary stuff :_= Harper will not go anywhere unless the CPC loses seats in the next election, or possibly remains the same. If they win a majority or even gain seats, he'll stay. -
Federal Funding of Gay Pride Parade
scribblet replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Fortunately, Harper has not appeased the social conservatives in any way, if he had, they wouldn't be so upset to the point where some are considering joining the CHP. I belong to a private conservative list, you can bet that reality does not reflect much of what is said on here by some folks. Harper does not 'despise' Manning, that's an erroneous assumption not based on anything but wishful thinking and a spurious means of spreading rumours. All this nonsense about religion etc. is funny - that dog don't hunt anymore LOL -
Liberals Using U.S. Campaign Software
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, it hit the Globe and Mail yesterday - oh dear, say it isn't so nice ponzi scheme LOL http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politi...article1201268/ Kevin Gaudet, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation, said Elections Canada should investigate. Mr. Gaudet said he isn't prepared to accept the Liberal assurances that there was no partisan intent. “It's those types of lines that raise the type of joke, ‘How do you know when a politician's lying: When his lips are moving.' ” -

Liberals courting religious vote
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's funny - a 'republican clone' guess you know nothing about Harper and the CPC or the U.S. Republicans,. -
Liberals courting religious vote
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why should he talk about it, it has nothing to do with gov't, and who cares what church he attends, but if he did talk about it then you'd find fault with that, do other MPs or PMs talk about the churches they attend, Martin and Chretien where regular churchgoers, to a church that is anti abortion anti SSM etc. etc. it's immaterial, and private. Incessant carping about what church Harper attends is simply a not so subtle method of instilling fear, this Harper=religious thing is old - this dog don't hunt. -
Too bad the problems weren't looked after during the Liberal years - all of this conservative/Harper derangement syndrome is sad, this forum is no longer a place to come to for reasonable discourse from all sides, as it used to be. Not to mention that this all came at a very opportune time to take the heat off the Dhalla problems. This is a good piece, worth a read http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnis...759566-sun.html cont....
