Federal liberals responsible for shortage of flu vaccine
scribblet replied to Alta4ever's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The change in the vaccine was done on the recommendation of WHO, which has since changed it's mind. -
No one is lobbying against control of handguns, it has never been an issue, this is just a straw man argument to deflect from the real problems with the long gun registry.

Long Gun Registry Not what it Seems
scribblet replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Who did you ask and in what capacity ? -
They had no option as the Liberals changed the rules requiring all MPs to pay into it.

The Democrats Are In HUGE Trouble
scribblet replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
IMO there will be huge Republican gains come Nov. 2010. If they don't like the tax increases and huge gov't interventions now, wait until cap and trade with tax increases to pay for that !!! That should nicely alienate most of the voters by then. -
Actually it shouldn't have been too surprising considering the adoration he's given from the left. Knowing that this committee pretty much lists to port side, it shouldn't be surprising that they are using this prize as a means of furthering their own agenda, via Obama.

Rush Limbaugh as NFL owner?
scribblet replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Okay, I found another quote, he actually said: "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve." Hardly racist, and probably correct - however as we know people get pilloried for less. more here http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/sit...5106.guest.html -
At least he didn't get it for economics

Rush Limbaugh as NFL owner?
scribblet replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No he didn't he said he wasn't a good player, that's all he said, and define 'normal' Limbaugh) should be suing the pants of MSNBC and CNN for falsely attributing statement to him that he never made. I bet people who denigrate Limbaugh and Fox news never listen or watch , they just parrot the left's talking points. This is just a concerted attack to denigrate and bring down a commentator the left hates. -
Help Obama Win The Heisman!

Well, I voted, often but I don't see his name showing up yet !!! -
Tories have massive lead in polls!
scribblet replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A lot lower until they replace him - but with who... Bob Rae would be better but he still has that Ontario baggage ! Too bad the NDP did what they did. -
CBC said that - wow - that site is so far out of it, it's creepy.
-
Phew, thank goodness, hopefully Canada will give a similar response to any such document.

Looks like the treaty to be presented at Copenhagen has been scooped, surprise surprise, it is not about climate, it's nothing but a backdoor world socialist government document aimed at bringing about "economic equality" by taking the western economies down to 3rd-world status. If implemented, forget about Canada ever running a budget surplus again. The full text is available as a 2 megabyte, 181 page pdf document at http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com...nhagen-2009.pdf No mention of how we should be able to come up with the money, to do so is a given that we will be in a depression. If we sign on to it, kiss economic recovery good-bye.

So far there isn't one, Ignatieff has turned out to be an over hyped dud. I bet he'll be gone after Christmas.
-
I knew he could play the piano, didn't know about the singing. Who could pass up an opportunity to play with Yo Yo Ma. Eat your hearts out..
-
According to Ms. Dhalla it would cost an estimated $300-million a year for 32,000 immigrant seniors who would benefit if this is implemented but likely would cost a lot more. I do know that 3 years will not give them the full OAS, however - and this is the killer. Pensioners with very low incomes would also qualify for other payments - Guaranteed Income Supplement and other top-ups. This is the hidden cost that Dhalla avoids referencing, and it would be huge. This, coming from a member of party screaming about a deficit hmmm Not to mention that it's blatant political opportunism.
-
Dropping out of school - really - you do know he has a master's degree in economcs and taught at university ?
-
It sure is an accurate statement and is amazing how someone could actually try and spin it otherwise
-
The only reason Ignatieff wants power now is so he can take credit for a recovering economy. So when will they have a leadership convention - after Christmas ?
-
An you know that how, there is no indication that the Tories would call an election this year, possibly next spring.

School Kids Taught To Praise Obama
scribblet replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
They are - and here I thought they were smashing up the place LOL http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle6848176.ece I don't agree with political indoctrination of any kind in the classroom, but this particular video is alarming as it portrays Obama as a Messianic figure who should be worshiped... Teaching patriotism and love of country is one thing, indoctrinating kids into a a particular ideology is repulsive. hmmm hmmm hmmm Obama
