Gee, I don't really know, alternate opinions, diverse news, non liberal speak LOL very telling indeed isn't it.
-
This is all part of the campaign to stifle free speech and Sun TV. Heaven help Canadians should have access to an alternative view point. Why is the left so hell bent on stopping Sun TV and free speech as this is only showing how determined they are to shut out anything but liberal speak. Here's a newsflash, they can turn off the TV, change the channel, but no, no one else should have the right to watch it because they don't agree with it. This whole mess has actually given us one thing, the insight into what the left really wants, and it ain't pretty.
-
All I know is that the media is reporting about some 'secret meeting', anything I or any one else say is speculation and hypothetical. It's not 'Fox News North', it's Sun TV, another deliberate misnomer.
-
Since it was secret we don't know what was discussed, anything we say is hypothetical musing.
-
Obviously if everyone knows about this so called meeting between Harper & Tenecyke then it's not a secret, and if it is such a secret, how do we know what they discussed. Really folks, this is all supposition and hypothetical musings. Maybe what we need is a petition to do away with the CRTC.

You are welcome, there`s another one from Kory at the Sun. It's interesting to see that the NP and the Sun are picking up on this, so far I haven't seen anything in the Red Star - I have to wonder why this 'petition' is coming from the U.S., and why anyone would want to expose themselves as being anti freedom of press/media and speech. Surely, this really does expose the left wing to accusations (and rightly so) that they do not want diverse opinions or any opinions other than their own. Surely this cannot be - http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/2010/09/02/15230201.html

Sure looks like that, and why would a U.S. funded and based organization interfere in our world ? The NP has a good piece on it, worth a read Tyler Anderson/ National Post http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/09/02/kelly-mcparland-margaret-atwoods-selective-support-for-press-freedom/#more-10543 go figure -

So it seems LOL I guess some folks will read anything or believe anything they want to believe.
-
That's because she signed a U.S. based petition http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/09/01/15216861.html so did a lot of people including Tory Teneycke LOL he tweeted about it. Whoever is behind it obviously doesn't believe in freedom of speech, at least, unless it's left wing. -

Democrat To Stand Trial On 13 Ethics Violations!
scribblet replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Another Democrat - oh no - say it isn't so LOL -
Contrary to the attempts to paint the Beck rally as white only, racist yadda yadda , it was not so white as advertised, there were many creeds, colors in attendance which refutes charges of racism against the rally. There where prominent black speakers, including Day Gardner and Alveda King. My take on the reason for the rally is that a large portion of the U.S. are fed up with expanding big gov't and what they perceive as growing socialism. They got more than they bargained for with the Obama admin. and are not happy with the state of the nation, so to speak. I admire them for speaking out for what they believe in. What I find interesting is the lengths that the left will go to demonize anything the protesters and opposition have to say.
-
Sure it is LOL what else would they say, they need to keep the buck rolling in You do know that it's not the whole bill that would be repealed, it's only long gun registry part, the rest of it to do with licencing, checking backgrounds etc. etc. all remain. http://www.lowe.ca/Rick/FirearmsLegislation/charterViolations.htm The RCMP’s abandonment of an earlier long-gun registry is further evidence of the marginal utility the new registry. Beginning in the early 1970s, new firearms legislation required that every firearm sold by a dealer be registered to the FAC of the purchaser and a copy of this record be sent to the RCMP in Ottawa. By 1991, the year of the Montreal Massacre, this meant there should have been a registry of every long-gun sold by a dealer over the preceding 20 years—including the Ruger Mini-14 used in the École Polytechnique shootings. But, as recounted by a former Justice Department official when he requested these records, he discovered that “the RCMP had stopped accepting FAC records and had actually destroyed those it already had.” Why? “Because the police thought that it was useless and refused to waste their limited budgets maintaining it. They also wanted to ensure that their political masters could not resurrect it.”[1]13

I haven't heard any hosts engage in 'hate mongering', stations wouldn't allow it, you obviously don't listen to talk radio because if you did, you would know that Muslims do listen and phone in. As I said, I have never heard any of them actually condemn the terrorists outright. If they care about their faith and community, they would speak out, unless they are really afraid to do it.
-
No, I don't have anything else, I don't imagine they would deliberately fabricate something like that so publicly. The report will be released soon, but expect a lot of turd polishing, the Chiefs et al need to keep their money coming in.
-
check this out - now the chiefs are going after law abiding citizens in retaliation for opposing the registry. http://nfa.ca/operation-zero-tolerance cont...
-
Do you have a source and data for that ?
-
Almost nothing - you are not serious, at the very minimum there are about 240 federal employees working in that dept. If you use a minimum salary of $35,000. each, plus benefits, work that one out, and that's only a start. With benefits I bet it's 5 million, some of those would be supervisors and managers making a lot more than that.
-
I'm pretty sure they would have solved it without the registry, however, my question about how it has prevented a crime has not been addressed.
-
A buildup of weapons? Obviously legal weapons if they are registered, but the convictions of the men involved there where only convicted for involvement in the incident, neither was the shooter. The shooter, James Roszko, was a convicted felon, but he committed suicide at the scene. The registry certainly didn't prevent the crime.
-
Costs aside, the big argument from those who favour the registry is that it helps prevent crime, but so far I have not seen any evidence presented to that, has anyone hear seen evidence or proof that the registry will, or has prevented a crime ?

Right on - note they have changed the name from Cordoba Park 51 because of negative symbolism of Cordoba. -
I too admire Tareq Fatah, it's too bad there aren't more like him willing to speak out against the radicals. I see that as a problem, even when listening to a talk show about the recent arrests, none the Muslims calling in actually condemned the alleged terrorist actions, I've rarely heard any of them condemn any terrorist outright.

It's funny how some like to downplay the numbers, I've seen aerial pics also, the crowd size was huge, more than 100,000 by any count, far bigger than the other rally, it should send shivers down the Dem's spines. Also note that one of the speakers was Dr. Alveda King, Martin Luther King's niece. NBC News estimated the turnout at 300,000, size does matter, and should give a heads up to what might happen in the November elections. IMO from various sources it would actually be around 200,000 Beck -- who derisively told the crowd "I have just gotten word from the media that there are over 1,000 people here today -- LOL he knew what would happen.
