Would the transfer payments replace the billions they get now, or be on top of ? -
Woman Denied Gov't Job Because of Race
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You stated that it's ok to discriminate against a are as long as it's whites who are being discriminated against. I'd like to understand how that is equality. It isn't equality, we are now on a road that says anyone who believes in equality for ALL, is racist. As I said in the other similar thread, race is not supposed to be the first criteria under the law, it is supposed to be the deciding factor when all other things are equal. -
I believe we are long past discriminating, especially in gov`t and large firms, there is no longer any need for quotas. Even so, if we stick to the actual terms of equity hiring, race is the not the first criteria, qualifications come first, then, all things being equal, ethnicity would be the deciding factor.

Guilty by association - give me a break, really !! I think this whole thing says an awful lot of our dear media today - and it's not good.
-
Can you imagine the opposition opposing this and causing election because they are against ending discrimination LOL
-
Well, a lot of people won't be happy, watch accusations of racist start up. e.g. today's if anyone believes that ALL people should be treated equally - then that equates to racism

Woman Denied Gov't Job Because of Race
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Someone started another thread, it appears that the gov't is taking notice and will review affirmative action. -
It's about time, merit and qualifications should be the deciding factors, not race. Maybe it has something to do with this http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2010/07/20/14772656.html

Conrad Black.....will soon be home.
scribblet replied to Oleg Bach's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why would you care if he has a peerage, the only thing we should be concerned with is whether or not he was guilty. I kinda think that Mr. Black was not completely innocent. However, I found this quite interesting http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/06/25/wall-street-journal-apologizes-to-conrad-black/ Wall Street Journal apologizes to Conrad Black Newspaper concedes it may have been too eager to jump on anti-Black bandwagon Friday, June 25, 2010 12:28pm - 5 Comments Wall Street Journal -
Atleo calls for end of Indian Act within five years
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't think ending the "Act" is a possibility either, my guess is he's dangling a carrot with the expectations of more money $$$$ -
I knew this was going on but maybe not so blatently, reverse discrimination or affirmative action is wrong, what happened to qualifications and meritocracy? http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2010/07/20/14772656.html

Nice video here worth a listen to Only Israel

Then again, we know questioning GW is not politically correct, that the demonization and labelling of people who dare to question or are skeptical about the GW hysteria is going on. then again, as Tim G said: If you listen to the entire interview the facts seem to be: 1) There is a real plan for an 'International Environment Criminal Court'. 2) During a committee meeting on the topic Griffen asked if the court would be expected to prosecute 'AGW deniers'. 3) The presenter refused to answer (any response other than absolutely not is unacceptable in my POV). 4) After the meeting Griffen asked the presenter for his opinion. 5) The presenter said that the court definately should prosecute deniers.

I haven't seen this anywhere else, but I don't doubt that some moonbats would love to do this. Don't like opposing opinions, suppress them, don't like what people say - throw 'em in jail. http://cjunk.blogspot.com/2010/07/climate-fascism.html Climate Fascism Do you still doubt it? People who are sceptical of climate change could soon be facing criminal charges in the European Court of Justice, British National Party leader and MEP Nick Griffin has said. Speaking in an exclusive Radio Red, White and Blue interview on this week’s “Eurofile” report, Mr Griffin told interviewer John Walker about a recent sitting of the European Parliament’s subcommittee dealing with the matter, which had passed a ruling which in effect placed legal sanction against anyone who dared question the origin, cause or effect of “climate change.” Mr Griffin revealed how he could not get a straight answer out of the committee while it was in session, but that afterwards it was admitted to him that that intention of the rule was to criminalise dissension on the topic of “climate change.” Listen to the full Radio RWB report by clicking here, choosing the RWB player launch icon and clicking on “Nick Griffin 14 July Brussels” in the pop-up menu. Exactly. They aren't committed to social justice or making the world a better place. These morons are only committed to their idea of what is actually social injustice- (communism or hard left socialism). Making us all equally poor.

Good grief, how can anyone in their right mind think that They made a decision to use restraint, they seemed to allow property damage rather than retaliating more violently which could cause harm to innocent people. If anyone had been harmed, even the moronic thugs, the usual suspects would be screaming police brutality. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. BTW, does anyone know why they can't or won't use the U.N. building for this, security is allready in place ?

Obviously the prosecutor didn't do his homework, or, there really wasn't anything they could convict on other than obstruction of justice. (removing files)\ The WSJ has something on this http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704289504575312512968461310.html?mod=googlenews_wsj http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704289504575312512968461310.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Of course, we should all empty our measly bank accounts and hand it all over to those who have less than we do - sure.. Meanwhile the Liberals are going off on a junket to China, but that's okay. Can you imagine the optics of using the military instead of the cops, I can see it now soldiers on the streets with guns yadda yadda

So here we have it, the truth is out, it's not what the media has been portraying it as. The only alternative is to not have a summit at all, is that an option?

Exactly how is it 'fair' for a group of people who pay a lot less than others do, to receive the same benefits ! Low retirement incomes should be addressed with large GIS payments. http://www.thestar.com/business/article/826622--bigger-cpp-should-be-fair-to-low-wage-earners?bn=1 Any expansion of the Canada Pension Plan should be fair. cont...

This guy is nuts, a real whack job who advocates killing homosexuals and beating your wife as well as supporting terrorisim, especially terorrism against America. !!! I was listening to Tarek Fatah on this subject who agrees with this decision. http://news.nationalpost.com/2010/06/22/controversial-muslim-televangelist-zakir-naik-banned-from-toronto-conference/ Controversial Muslim televangelist Zakir Naik banned from Toronto conference cont...
