A lot less... but by applauding I meant that they were applauding the misinformation in that piece, they seem to believe that Fox News isn't in Canada and or that SunTV is not coming to Canada - both are. Not to mention that 1) no one has ever been charged under that regulation and 2) it was about the constitutionality of the act, Kennedy Jr. seems not to know any of that. Speaking about Kennedy, I didn't realize how bat sh.t crazy he really is, I read some other pieces and learned today that just recently an earlier piece he wrote had to be retracted. http://retractionwatch.wordpress.com/2011/01/16/salon-retracts-2005-robert-f-kennedy-jr-piece-on-alleged-autism-vaccine-link/ http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/02/25/crtc-false-news.html ( strange ? )
-
Much of the piece is not factual, Fox News is in Canada, but even if he means SunTV, that too has been approved. There are other errors which is too bad because the Americans on there are lapping it up.
-
The link to the Huff Po piece in the first post is an example of yellow journalism, although the majority of the article is actually demonstrably false.
-
No it is not, the first link is about the CRTC and 'false news', no mention of SunTV, the second link from Huff Po is a complete farce, I thought it was from The Onion. LOL

No different than the "The Paul Martin Government' but these things are only bad when the conservatives do it. -

Okay, it's not a 'crisis', a staffer made a mistake and is now gone. I don't think people (other than the opposition) are getting too excited over any of these because they know it's all been done before by the Liberals, they likely see it as simply double standards and faux outrage which gets tiresome - there are far more important issues they should be worrying about. It's just not a major issue, IMO and obviously others feel that way as the polls are still up for the CPC. -

Of course it will drag on as the opposition has nothing else going for it, no alternatives or anything to offer the voters. All they can do is keep manufacturing that outrage and hope some mud sticks at election times. -

The staffer who sent it out has resigned, not that it will stop the Liberal heads from exploding all over QP -

If the opposition had anything worthwhile to say or present as options to the voters, they wouldn't have to keep manufacturing a crisis  That foaming at the mouth bit they are good at doesn't help either -
I have to say that from what I've seen on the news, the behaviour of the protesters in Wisconsin is to say the least, bat crazy and pretty ugly, if this where a tea party protest the media would be all over it. 41 rounds of hollow-point rifle ammunition found outside the state Capitol. http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/03/03/wisconsin.budget/index.html?hpt=T2

Actually, the in and out thing is perfectly reasonable to me as I understand that the Liberals used it for years. It only became illegal when Conservatives used it. Consider also that Elections Canada pressed charges before they supposedly knew that the decision was being overturned. hmmmm -
No where is there any evidence that the CRTC's decision or the committee's request which has been asking for years, is tied to SunTV. There maybe speculation and the public may be buying into the media and left wing narrative that it is, but that does not make it so. Again, the committee requested CRTC to make the change long before SunTV's application.
-
After ignoring the committee's letters for years, CRTC finally relented and said in December it would consider changing the regulation
