Typical liberals, their eyes are only on manufacturing scandals instead of the real important issues like the EU deal

The Senate Scandal is manufactured?..The only one manufacturing his own problems is the PM with his ever changing story of knowledge on the subject...

He most certainly isn't a victim and I don't know anyone that has so much as suggested that.

  4. Has he really, check out the interview withy John Tory on newstalk 1010 haven't heard it all yet.
  5. Agree, at least he seems to know what's best for Canada and the economy, in this particular regard. -
  6. You are living in dream land if you think this is a real scandal, it’s third rate at best, driven by the media and opposition. A guy, who was the worst vicarious crook last week, today is your best buddy. To sum it up The three musketeers stole public money through illegitimate claims The PM told them to repay One of Harper’s employees gave the money to Duffy to pay it back cos Duffy is broke Now the three of them are fighting to keep this money. The PM wants to kick the 3 of them out So now the left accuses the PM of (something) for asking the stolen money be paid back and is turning a 4th rate ‘scandal’ into a circus. None of these recent revelations proves anything other than what – the PM isn’t as controlling as he’s made out to be. His Staff didn’t inform him of events when they should’ve done ? Mulcair did get it right when he asked why he found out about the plan he didn’t fire the lot of them. A decent piece here... http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/jj-mccullough/senate-scandal-duffy-brazeau_b_4151851.html?show_comment_id=295307879#comment_295307879 excerpted A Few Selfish Senators Do Not a Scandal Make Ta da! -- the crux of the shocker. The good people of Canada are supposed to be outraged, nay, demand the resignation of their prime minister, over the fact that this country's elected government was more concerned with the opinions of its "base" -- i.e. the voters of Canada -- than upholding the corrupt and loophole-ridden expense rules of a disgusting and worthless political institution with a 5 per cent approval rating. Responding to the latest allegations in question period the other day, the Prime Minister didn't say much, but what he did say was precisely right: "We've been very clear that we expect all parliamentarians to respect the letter and the spirit of any rules regarding expenses and if they do not respect that, then they can expect there to be consequences and accountability for their actions."
  7. I'm not sure that the savings would outweigh the cost of buying new appliances realy, uness I can get an exceptionally good deal on them. Ontario dumps hydro and pays others to take it away. Meanwhile Ontario taxpayers are paying for this surplus or dumping of hydro. Add to this the higher costs for unreliable wind and solar energy the overall effect is causing financial hardship for many on tight budgets. Makes no sense at all as to why anyone would vote Liberal again.
  8. Golly gee - Can you imagine how powerful the conspiracy stories would have been had it been supported by documentation? But really, when do we get to see Mulcair questioning Mike Duffy, demanding he produce documents backing conspiracy claims?
  9. We have a gas water heater and furnace, I'm thinking about switching to a gas dryer and stove, although I've never been comfortable with a gas stove. We've seen a huge increase in our bill over the last year or so, and I do watch the usage. When is that debt supposed to be paid off, do they even know how much is left, if at all? It's all been a big lie http://www.obwf.ca/ontario-hydro-has-increased-81-because-the-meters-are-so-smart/
  10. That is only your opinion which isn't necessarily fact or worthy of comment.
  11. I agree the Senators should have due process before having to leave/resign... Would Justin Trudeau be treated in the same manner? This writer has some good points, Duffy/Wright issue highlights yellow journalism & opposition desperation. http://cotmblog.com/2013/10/22/duffywright-issue-highlights-yellow-journalism-opposition-desperation/
  12. That's the problem, this all seems to be more about trying to bring down the gov't over 90k while real achievements are overshadowed. Talking about criminal. The RCMP allege ex-Sen. Mac Harb committed fraud re: expenses, and still no more on the other Liberal Senator Collin Kenney who abused his expenses. Don't know about incompetent, what indications are there that Wallin and Duffy would abuse their expense accounts, none that I know of. Brazeau, dunno, he had achievements and is Native which was a good thing for Senate appts. and representation. Did Chretien know about Mac Harb et al., was Trudeau incompetent for appointing Kenny, What about Raymond Lavigne I bet if a full audit were to be done on all Senators there would a few more squirming, but does that make all the PMs who appointed them incompetent ? I just think that this is minor and is just turning into a feeding frenzy with the sole purpose of unseating Harper, not really because anyone cares about Senate ethics.
  13. Note that the last few weeks/months the left thought Duffy was a lying you know what, but now he’s a really credible source of information who should be taken completely at his word.
  14. I don't know anyone,' sycophants' or otherwise who would not object to such a thing, so don't impute thoughts and ideas that don't exist. It’s funny when miscreants are caught they try to blame everyone else but Duffy is a former media member so does know how to pitch an issue and stir up the public. I wouldn't believe every word Duffy says, especially under Parliamentary privilege. Personally, Harper knowing anything is just a mountain out of a mole hill. Why should the PM resign if that's what they want over a $90,000 cheque? Maybe we should have an inquiry then Harper can take the stand and carry on about his golf balls. Canadians lapped it all up when Chretien did that. - The PM has just concluded years of hard work with the signing of a free trade agreement that will benefit Canada greatly. It’s the best gov’t we’ve had in a generation or so on many fronts. It’s a shame because if Wright wants to float Duffy a loan fine, end of discussion, end of news story.
  15. So far Duffy has not provided documentation, though he claims to have written notes to back up his allegations. Don’t forget a few months ago Duffy said he really didn’t know if the PM knew about the Wright cheque and the PM said he didn’t know the details, Duffy has not said otherwise but is letting the media put words in his mouth. A matter of shady business by a Senator is being used by the opposition and media who are latching on to every word from Duffy/lawyer. This in order to bring down the PM, it’s not about the money, ethics or Senate business any more, it’s just a malicious scheme to bring down a gov’t rather than doing it at the ballot box.
  16. I'm inclined to agree with that too as it is often used to disparage and putdown members. I'm not sure if the sidebar really is the reason for lack of content and degradation of the forum. Facebook and Twitter have taken away a lot of people from forums IMO.
  17. I watched the CBC National News last night. They where all like kids in a candy store hardly containing their glee. Harper has always said Duffy should repay the money while Duffy sounds like a man trying to preserve a pay cheque all along and looking for others to blame for his need to do whatever he thought would keep it coming. Mr. Harper himself said I believe in the House that he looked at it initially and it looked like the expenses were in line, Duffy is saying the same thing about the expenses being in line and that’s about it. Most of this has been manufactured by the media and has little to do with propriety of Senators and spending but is focused on unhorsing Stephen Harper no matter what. That’s all they care about. How can one tell? The story focuses on Harper’s Senate choices, Duffy, Wallin and Brazeau, yet recent Senator Mac Harb, who allegedly owes more than the other three put together, has been virtually ignored and thus invisible. Same goes for Raymond Lavigne another corrupt Chretien choice who is now serving a short jail term for “breach of public trust” for the same activities as Duffy and the rest are accused of. Look too at Liberal Sen Colin Kenney who was mentioned briefly this week as having abused the Senate’s funds and resources. This is simply the malicious media and opposition scheme to bring down the best PM Canada has enjoyed since Bennett. It could cost the CPC re-election especially when the pretty boy Justin Trudeau with a joint hanging out of his mouth is leading the charge for the Liberals. . Hold the flames please.....
  18. This isn't on a reserve it's on crown land which the Natives want to 'claim back', they have a right to protest but not violently. Maybe other people want this as it will provide jobs and help the economy. tp://halifax.mediacoop.ca/story/elsipogtog-chief-issues-eviction-notice-texas-base/19097 NDP calls for an end to violence http://www.nbndp.ca/node/862 http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/nb/news-nouvelles/releases-communiques/13-10-17-135208-eng.htm At least 40 people arrested for firearms offences, threats, intimidation and violating a court injunction, Rexton, N.B.

Oh sure - right everyone knows that. http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/molotov-cocktails-thrown-as-shale-gas-protesters-clash-with-rcmp-in-eastern-n-b-1.1500986 one of the comments NOT a peaceful protest: 1) petrol bombs 2) weapons present including military grade rifles and bayonets 3) military grade ammunition for weapons 4) explosive devices 5) a large number of knives, hatchets, machetes, etc. The RCMP were correct to act. And I AM AN ABORIGINAL CANADIAN!
  23. Beyond a reasonable doubt, I don't think so. As the NB Premier said, burning police cars and defying court orders doesn't help their cause or public relations.
  24. Some people have seen their bills increase as much as 100%, we are being scammed. The Green Energy Act is the cause of this http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2013/05/10/power_plant_cancellations_green_energy_act_looms_behind_gas_plant_mess.html# Then there's the fact that Ontario consumers have been charged $1.2 billion over the last three years to subsidize power for customers outside the province. http://www.thestar.com/business/2012/07/30/ontario_consumers_pay_millions_to_subsidize_electricity_exports.html#
