  1. Yes, many are fleeing war but many of these will be religious people tied to vicious rebel groups or allied with a nasty regime tied to ethnic/religious violence. Their attitudes towards women is just one sticking point, why would we welcome such a socially regressive culture. We have to screen these people very carefully, to not do so will end in tears and civil war for the host country.
  2. According to the U.N. report 75% are male. Denmark is rejecting them. http://news.yahoo.com/denmark-sends-first-group-refugees-back-germany-155642263.html
  3. That`s exactly what this is. The left is politicizing a tragic event for their own gain, with no thought to consequences. At least Harper has said he won`t let them in without processing/vetting.
  4. Why do you say that, I had one - no problem, but I merged my members with another stand alone forum which pays for hosting... I don't see the point, pro boards was fine.
  5. The UN says 75% of migrants are men, only 12% women, 13% kids. So: the opposite of “women and children first .... http://data.unhcr.org/mediterranean/regional.html

Some maybe, but there are thousands of male migrants cell phones and all taking advantage of Europe's hospitality.

It's amazing that they have the latest iPhones, and some have t-shirts that say "fear for your wife". I'm looking forward to their positive impact on society.

      On Guard for Thee

It's not amazing at all. When I was in Kabul a few years ago, I reckon more people had cell phones there than they did in Vancouver. It's because they never did have the hard wired service that we grew up with in the west, so when wireless technology entered the market, everybody that could bought in. The T shirts you speak of could well have come fro UNHCR or RC. Doing a little research before posting helps.

  6. And that is really the crux of the matter. Call it any name you like but while people want to help feed and house people and are willing to take in a few thousand, I doubt they would not happily accept tens thousands of people who in those numbers would eventually change the face and culture of our country - and not for the better IMO. Europe is going through this now and it will only get worse, if you think the riots in Sweden and France were bad, wait for a few years to see what happens as the demographics change. Once the demographics change it won't be long before they will start advocating for more and more accommodation.
  7. That's a useless reply... As A. Jolie said Refugees from war are distinct from economic migrants
  8. As more and more pour into Europe and more Iraqis are lining up to join in, Merkel is starting to tighten up. They will have to, they (et al) cannot possibly take in that many and more to come. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/598924f0-555d-11e5-9846-de406ccb37f2.html#axzz3l42K7w5F Germany’s governing coalition moved on Monday to tighten benefits for migrants as Angela Merkel, chancellor, displayed a sharper tone towards those drawn to the country for economic reasons. Just read this from a Euro Blogger, a first hand account of what is happening and good reason to get a better handle on the numbers. http://m.niezalezna.pl/70607-granica-z-austria-wstrzasajaca-relacja-polaka-z-autokaru-napadnietego-przez-imigrantow translation: "The coach in which I was in the group, tried to swing. Was thrown at us g ... banging on the door to be opened driver, spat on the glass" - reports on Facebook Kamil Bulonis, the author of the travel blog. Author entry leading blog travel "citizen of the world", it is difficult to be accused of right-wing, Catholic and nationalist "oszołomstwo." Kamil Bulonis openly because he writes about himself on Instagramie: "journalist, globetrotter, gay," and on the Facebook page shows your photo in the colors of the rainbow. Yesterday night Kamil Bulonis posted a travel journal bus ride from Italy to Austria. It is so moving that we quote it in its entirety. Especially since not count on it to the mainstream media wyłamały the scheme narrative talking about "bad Hungarian nationalists" and "poor immigrants". Here the relationship Kamila Bulonisa: One and a half hours ago on the border of Italy and Austria with my own eyes I saw a great many immigrants ... With all solidarity with people in difficult circumstances I have to say that what I have seen, arouses horror ... This huge mass of people - I'm sorry I'll write - but it's an absolute wilderness ... Vulgar, throwing bottles, loud shouts of "We want Germany" - and Germany is now a paradise? I saw how the older Italian women surrounded the car, pulled her by the hair out of the car and wanted the car drive away. The coach in which I was in the group, tried to swing. Shit thrown at us, banging on the door to be opened driver, spat on the glass ... I ask you, what purpose? How does this wilderness is to assimilate in Germany? I felt for a moment like a war ... I really feel sorry for these people, but if they reached the Polish - I do not think that they will receive from us any understanding ... We have three hours to the border, through which ultimately passed. The whole group of police cordon was transported back to Italy. Coach is butchered, faeces smeared, scratched, broken windows. And this is supposed to be an idea of the demographics? These big powerful hordes of savages? Among them it was actually not women, no children - the vast majority of aggressive were young men ... Just yesterday, reading the news on all websites. subconsciously compassion, worried about their fate, and today after what I saw, just afraid, and at the same time I'm glad that you do not choose our country as their destination. We Poles are simply not ready to accept these people - neither culturally nor financially. I do not know if anyone is ready. EU walks pathology, which has not had a chance to ever see. And excuse me if anyone offended his entry ... I think that drove up the car with humanitarian aid - mainly food and water, and they just rolled their car they ...
  9. Oh sure... of course - just another thinly veiled jab
  10. There is a big difference between a refugee and an economic migrant.
  11. I thought it meant I am a Roman citizen which guaranteed legal rights
  12. Some snapshots here of mostly male migrants with designer clothing and cell phones, two different classes are trying to get in, real refugees and economic migrants. Merkel is starting to tighten up now too. http://inbalkans.info/inbalkans/web/?p=7300 and now Iraqis are lining up to get in on this so will to the huge numbers - Europe cannot handle the numbers, there will be tears and blood in the near future. http://www.npr.org/sections/parallels/2015/09/05/437727526/with-eyes-on-europe-iraqis-line-up-to-leave-baghdad
  13. Yeah, like the one in Windsor hosted by the union which requires pay for access.
  14. Actually, Canada’s response is in line with historical patterns.
  15. Of course the refugee crisis is the fault of the west, nothing to do with this http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/07/02/isis-executioners-spare-no-one-killing-74-children-for-crimes-including-not/
  16. Yeah right. I've just confirmed with a campaign manager that his riding in BC has confirmed 3 debates, and another one two, they are certainly not accepting invitations to all debates, nor should they. Essex has at least one confirmed to which the union is selling tickets and Quinte West has one confirmed so far. This and the lies about the refugee family are good examples of media lies, not just shoddy reporting. Actually, these debates rarely if ever are worth the effort and time. I stopped going to them several elections ago when I witnessed poor behaviour at debates. These meetings are always stacked. Just about everybody in the room, including Conservative supporters, have made up their minds and are only trying to score points so that the media will pick them up and write about them. Our candidates are wise to avoid them if they can. It is far better and more productive to main street or work the doorsteps then to attend those gong shows.
  17. Exactly, there's a current Liberal candidate who has admitted to deliberately overspending during this election and let's not forget the NDP's millions they owe.
  18. The failed Arab Spring and ISIS are the main reason for the refugee influx, the migrants crossing from Africa are fleeing Boko Haram, other violence and poverty. Moral outrage is fine but we know we can't take in tens of thousands without it affecting our economy and infrastructure (schools and health care for example) Without borders in Europe, there is no hope of ending this migrant crisis. The principle of free movement cannot withstand this influx of refugees and the criminal efforts of people traffickers http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/11846760/Without-borders-in-Europe-there-is-no-hope-of-ending-this-migrant-crisis.html
  19. Oh no, not the Fraser Institute, then it cannot be right -
  20. Really, you know how many debates are being held in ALL ridings...
  21. I suppose we should just invade Turkey, put them on planes and bring them all here without due process. The manufactured ‘crisis’ over the tragic drowning of a Syrian boy is incredible. Those demanding that Canada to “do something immediately’ are unreasonable. Who decreed that we are responsible for the world’s bloodthirsty dictatorships, terrorists and tyrannies? We have committed air support and now ground troops to help combat ISIS terrorism and have provided generous humanitarian aid to the victims of warfare in the Middle East. The weeping and wailing about our ‘need’ to bring thousands of refugees to our shores are made without any concern over how we deal with them when they arrive or the potential effects of unregulated mass immigration. UNICEF estimates that there are over 11,650,000 displaced persons and refugees in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. That is more than the combined populations of Metropolitan Toronto and Metropolitan Montreal. How do the social and mainstream media ninnies clamoring for us to open the doors wide to these hapless people expect to clothe, feed and shelter these refugees? They have to learn a new language, adapt new laws, develop working skills, find employment and become productive citizens. That is not going to happen overnight or without massive government aid and inevitably higher taxes. Adding a few million people to our welfare rolls overnight is not without repercussions. We do not have the social services or infrastructure to deal with a massive influx of refugees. Aiding refugees does not entail joining them in poverty.
  22. It should be, but as I said, I didn't see anyone going to bat for the millions of black migrants trekking across Europe.
