Gabby...Gabby....Gabby.... You still dont understand what the Supreme Court decision was all about vs. what transpired in Gitmo. Perhaps if you stood back and thought about it all, you'd realize that how silly all this back and forth arguing is. It was the CANADIAN guys who were deemed to have contravened Khadr's CANADIAN rights. Anyone with a modicum of common sense would understand that the AMERICAN guys are contravening their own constitution and of course international Human Rights. We cant do anything about that. Its up to the US folks in charge to deal with that. In the mean time, the US folks seem to have some concerns after all these years to actually bring Khadr to trial. Of course, the reason behind that is obvious....

Of course Blair would say he had no regrets about lying the Brits into a war. Thats what politicians and former politicians do.

Why the delay? I suspect that they dont have a case. The changes made as a result of the 2007 ruling are still likely to be challenged. The changes made included access to security-cleared lawyers, permitting the accused to attend the hearings, challenge government evidence and generally protect the rights of the accused. You know, the kind of stuff that you disagree with.

Harper to prorogue parliament AGAIN?

Hi Jerry, I wrote it with tongue in cheek. To calibrate is simply to test a measuring device and adjust it as necessary so that it measures accurately to a national standard so that accuracy is supported by objective evidence that it indeed meets the national standard normally held at NRC. In politics, to calibrate means to move the bull shit pile to another location. To recalibrate is to move it again in the hope that the public will forget where the original pile was located. Harpo has a habit of not telling the truth to our faces.............. Harpo passes a law requiring fixed election dates. - You can be sure he will call an election ignoring the legislated date. Harpo declares before the last election that there will be no recession - We were already in recession when he said that. Harpo says that he does not "cut and run!" - He gets in trouble in Parliament and with the help of the GG he cuts and runs. Harpo tells us that he is by profession an economist. - So just when he needs the money he cuts the GST. Harpo when opposition, declares that the Canadian Army needs to be sent to Iraq. - In government he says that he only said that to scare Sadam. -

Harper wasnt in the least trying to protect Canadians. He was only trying to protect his PM post. Lets us not forget this letter by Harper in 2004 to the Govenor General suggesting a possible coalition which included the separatists... "We respectfully point out that the opposition parties, who together constitute a majority in the House, have been in close consultation. We believe that, should a request for dissolution arise this should give you cause, as constitutional practice has determined, to consult the opposition leaders and consider all of your options before exercising your constitutional authority...".
