Oh no. You are causing global warming and the hole in the ozone layer. How do you live with yourself? There's no excuse not to drive a hybrid you know. -

I guess a newpaper columist wasn't engouh. He must have been lying. Of course, a columnist that predicts global warming with no evidence, just theory.. well.. that's 'different'. -

It's not. I just want something for the kids I might have in a few years. I already have a 3.8L V6 car, so why not just get an SUV. I liked the van that had the motorized sliding door on the side.. but I swore I would never own a mini-van or put my kids in soccer. I loved the Jeep Cheroke Elderado becasue it had extrememly heavy soundproofing. It was so quiete inside. I want this I think. I just want a very soundproofed ride and extrememly soft suspendion. And an LCD would be nice too for the kids.. I like to go to StarBucks on the weekends and get my coffee and need to take the kids in and out of the vehicle.. i don't know if a small economy car would do that. Then there's strollers and stuff that need to fit in the car and be taken in and out easy. I might need to go to Bloor St, Younge St, Jarvis, Gerard, or hit the 401. This is the GTA. Any ethnic food you want in the world you can have here. All the hot latin, portrugeuse, italian second gen daughters at the mall in tight clothese. I can't have a van! Meh.. but Canada is so poor I don't know if I should have kids. -

I don't think a lot of Canadians know that the gov't is in the publishing business. It was news to me. Thus, I'm against gov't funds going to all books. This book was the kicker of course. The left have an agenda to break the family, break the father figure, and break apart Christianity and Judism. (I say the latter because the left will defend Islam so they aren't nesessarily anti-religion). The left is about social control, censorship, and disctatorships. The environment first, economy last. -

That's not true. I don't believe the gov't should be in the business of publishing books. This is not the role of the gov't and I am very against it. -

Yes he was. He ruined the country. Can you list what he did that ruined the country? Where would you like me to start?? Wow i'm watching Little Mosque on the Prarie! The give many many references to ARAR! FCK! It's completely anti-alberta, anti-christian, anti-Canadian. -
Wow. Still watching, It's unreal.. it's no wonder people don't support the CPC with publically funded shows like this. It's litterally an Anit-Harper, Anti-CPC television show. The crowed isn't even laughing that much. Pay attention and you'll see. That Rick guy is just grasping at strasws trying to make the CPC look bad.

Well I have satellite and just saw the Dion spot. Wow. He has no sense of humor. You can see the Dog Kyoto. It was obvious it was a Libearl Ad campaign and against Harper. They also show Dion's WIFE! Next I'll get to watch Little Mosque on the prairie. Watch CBC-A (atlantic) if you want to see the shows early and have BEV sat.

Trudeau to run I do believe that he'll be Primeminster. I think he's far too young right now, but I think that Pierre Trudeau has had the most influence on Canada in its history. People equate the Canadian flag, CBC, and Canada with Pierre Eliot Trudeau. I think Canada has a love affair with this politician. Trudeau messed up for our country and he showed that he did not have the ability to govern our country. He was out of place. Trudeau part II will prove to be the same. When he govenrs our country he'll run wild with his idealisms, place immigrants in the west and east, and make sure the whole country votes Liberal. He'll destroy Canada like his Dad. I wish he would go straight to idealism Hell. A place where all the left wing agenda driven people belong. -

Yeah. By the people who own them. That is, of course, assuming the stickers actually exist and are in fact funded by the CBC. Ok so let me get this straight. Let me understand left wing agenda mentality. So that sticker is made for people to put on their own SUV to make an environmental statement. So people who feel very strongly about the environment.. people that feel so strong they will put a sticker on their vehicle own gas guzzling SUV's? Lol! I plan on Getting an SUV for my next vehics. I couldn't care less about my emisssions. It's not Canada's problem. Well the CBC has to take responsiblity for all it's guests and website content. They recommended this book for Childrens content. It was also funded by our gov't and so is the CBC. We need to get rid of them both. And then let them burn in hell. -

Well I read the article. Quite an over reaction on your part. Much Ado about nothing. Yeah our gov't is funding stickers to be put on SUV's. Nice one. Then there's the black book of sex for girz that the gov't funded: "The Little Black Book for Girlz: A Book on Healthy Sexuality". Parents were outraged when they learned of the book which gives detailed instruction for teens to engage in lesbian sex acts. The manual was further condemned for using obscene and derogatory language. Examples include a section entitled "My First Time F***ing a Girl" and the statement "If you need someone to represent God The Holiness, then for me, it's a fat black dyke." And what do you know, it's a recommended read by the CBC! "Children's Book Panel - Suggestions for Young Adults - December 11, 2006" http://www.cbc.ca/soundslikecanada/features2.html -
Train 48 was the worst show I've ever seen on Television. We questions how it got the timeslot it did. We did talk about it at work back in Ottawa and mostly discussed 'who watches this?' The Canadian actors went on strike yesterday saying that they were making minimum wage. They need to realize that they don't sell advertising and all actors in second and third world countries are paid very little.

CBC to air comedy "Little Mosque On The Prairie"
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I find that hard to believe given your endless anti-immigrant diatribes. If politicians thought like you 20 years ago your acquaintances would not even be in the country. I'm from Ontario. Since childhood my best friends have been refugee's from Samolia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. For me immigration isn't a social buddy issue. Back in those days we could swallow the cost of immigration and stats show that they enjoyed the same pay and quality of life as other Canadians. This isn't the 70's though anymore. Also, the main over riding factor in these debates is people get emotional and let that over ride facts. I'm not anti-immigrant, I'm pro work-permit. I'm pro immigration policy. We have no policy right now. In my personal life, I'm living Trudeaus dream. The difference is, when my Fiance dad came to Quebec in 1968, he came because he was a teach and there was a shortage of teachers in Quebec. He came young, never used healtcare or services and paid into the system his whole life. People at this stage are just 'wandering in' from the airport with no jobs, no prospects, and no future here in Canada but to vote Liberal. This has to stop. Again, immigration isn't a socially buddy issue, it's an issue of protecting our welfare state for our own. If you care about Canada's social programs, healthcare, and welfare state, you won't open it up to the world and watch it crumble without objection. After all, this is the sole reason why every country in the world has an immigration policy. I dont see why Canada is the ONLY country that lets almost anyone just wander in. We all know here on the forum that Canada is not some job booming place with white collar jobs galore and growth. We're actually a pretty poor country with high unemployment, and are about to lose G8 status. In the last 15 years, God.. just 8 years our systems have drastically headed downhill and fast. Canada is in real bad shape right now. In every aspect. 18,000 full time jobs GONE in the last 2 months, yet 50,000 poeple entereing the country. This continually compounds until one day everyone realizes 'wow we live in a sh*t hole'. There is already sedimant on this very forum that Canada doesn't feel like home and there is a desire to move to a functioning country. This is despite the CPC being in power. I've never fealt so strong about wanting to leave Canada but I feel very strong about it. I feel trapped here.. like this isn't where I belong. I only wish the US had Canada's open immigration where I could fill out an application and just walse in. Hahah.. i wish. I put my resume on Yahoo jobs once to see what would happen. I got contacted almost on a daily basis, some jobs paying in the $70,000 range because they have white collar jobs there. Head hunters were very agressive in trying to get to move to a state that I guess no one wanted to work (New Mexico, parts of Texas, Wyoming) etc. Of course, these companies were smaller and not willing to bring poeple over on work permits. One staffing agency said that only the larger corperations with legal departments are known to do that. Either way, it was just nice to see how many jobs there are in the US. Here, with the same credentials, in Canada's largest market I don't know even If i'll be able to get a job let alone anything close to a white collar job. I could get a job in the US and be sucsessful. I could get a business loan and open up my dream resturaunt - something the banks refuse to do here in Canada without 45% of the downpayment(!), AND despite that the gov't garuntees they will fully pay back the money if I default. Nope. My country likes to hold back Canadians dreams, it likes to tax companies and kill jobs, it likes to leave our own waiting in hallways and emergency rooms to die. It likes to fund a network that makes a show about Muslims potraying them as great people while fellow Canadians get potrayed as racist hicks. My own country doing this. Self hatred. We shall always put an immigrants dream before out own. They must succeed. Arar must be made rich. We must make others' dreams come true, just not our own. Dreams are reserved for already rich policial elites and immigrants. Meh, who gives a damn about the working Canadian that funds all this - they can die on a waiting list for all I care! -
When Dion whips Harper in the next election.....

Well your pro immigration, socially 'progressive', pro environment.. sounds like you should stick with Liberal party of Canada. I dont think any gov't in recent history is capable of being fiscally responsible. IMO, getting the best balance of all the above would require electoral reform. The system must change or we'll always be stuck with dictators running things. -

I'm sure you have some form of derogatory name for every ethnic group. Lol.. You don't hang out with ethnic people and second gens like I do. The chinese have the most labels and lingo's. For instance, someone from Hong Kong is called a 'Honger'. They also have much more lingo. Like they rate a guy by saying 'he has good stats'. That means his car, his school, his money. That sort of thing. And a further funny thing is that I learned all these things FROM the second generations becuase they use these words. (except for Dirka.. everyone just says that). And everone ignores the part of my post where I say that every community has a nick name for Canadians. I'm the racist despite the fact that I have not made up any of these words and am reporting that people DO used these words. But unless you hang out with visible minorities you wouldn't know any of this stuff. -

That is absolutely horrible. We need to stop the funding to the CBC. Our tax dollars shouldn't be paying for a political agenda driven party. The CBC is not respected world wide as being a credible news organization. They should stick wtih reporting news at a much, much, lower scale than they do now. It should be more like a PBS or CPAC. A very small portion of our media market. Also I was reading through the Calgary sun. "The Calgary Health Region is now seriously considering forcing all city restaurants to remove artificial trans fat from their meals" What the hell is going on over there? -

Because the Muslims daughter isn't a prostitute. She's a Christian. The evil 'white girls' that are sluts. (If I only had a dime for everytime a second gen Canadian girl told me 'white girls sleep around' 'white girls are ho's'). That's how ethnic girls (ones born here) view white girls. We have names for them: CBC - Canadian born chinese. ABCD - American born confused desi (a brown person born here). Consfused because they watch bollywood movies and somehow beleive they are Indian when they aren't. FOB - Fresh of the boat. (just an immigrant. Used in Ottawa by second generation kids of immigrant parents. Dipper: Term used from Sikh's and other south asians all the poeple I met from BC. Say 'Dip' for short. Dirka's: Here in Toronto this is very common. People say this to refer to dirty looking refugee's pakistani's, dirty looking muslims. Etc. People who can barely speak English. And yes, they ALL have similar names for the 'whites' or Canadians. The Italians, Portragues, and all of the others have their own words to discribe native Canadians. This one old Syrian co-worker simply called us... "Foreigners". -
True. This is one of the reasons economists can't agree on anything and are wrong half the time. Even the talking heads in the investement world are wrong half the time. It's this very disagreeing that makes stock prices go up and dow. IF everyone agreed a stock would go down, everyone would sell and there woulnd't be a stock left. So the market is based on disagreement. Economists are the same sort of thing. Either way, they are just book taught. They have no real experience half the time and try to say things that they feel are logical but the real economy is extrememly complex. Probably even more comlex than the average economist can hanlde. No. Interest rates or something more simple and singular then somewhat, but not their views on any kind of real gov't policy or anything along those lines. Yes. Definately. Depends on the economist. Some believe the poor are a target market group (Rogers cable, calling cards), and others believe that the reason why they are poor is because they don't have a degree. Working poor are needed in society and coulnd't function without them. People who just choose to have kids and not work (ya'll know what I'm going to say), do NOT help out our economy. They are just a burden. No. Economists are arm chair quarterbacks. Most who graduate from economics do not find work at all in their field and sit under/unemployed. I have a couple of friends that took social economics so they can get their foot in some sort of gov't job. Didin't happen. Now they have nothing. Not myself. Economists hold personal opinions. That's all. For instance, I believe that income trusts are a positive for the oil sector only, and not for a company like Telus or Bell. However, Economists say that income trusts shouldn't have been there and it was something that had to stop all together. Then there's the odd 1 that came on the radio and said that it was find the way it was. Unlike most on the forum, I base my opinions off numbers. Published numbers. Not opinion. If it is opinion, it has to be backed by numbers like somethign from a study. Numbers show that Canada makes 2% of GHG's. Thus, my opinion is that this should not be a priority for Canada. Everything else is emotion and anyone like Suzuki who says that this is manditory and a top priority is promoting his own agenda of feel good things that are not based off numbers. You don't have to answer all questions any of the above you fancy is fine.
