I don't feel that cars which will hold up traffic should be on our roads. Canada has a crammed in, over stuffed infrastructure unlike MANY cities and suburbs in the US. If we had a comfortable flow of roads and traffic then maybe they can be allowed on non-highways, but we're just too packed to have costly slowdowns. Every city in Canada is. This isn't Colorado.

I disagree with that statement. I know several Americans and most of the time they are considered Canadian becuase we are culturally similar. Americans are the easiest immigration cases into Canada and if you want to come, you can. I wish you guys had the same system so I can get out of Canada and move over there!!

Yeah I already got a DSLR a couple years ago. The quality ofyour photos will almost exclusively be on the lense you use. A good lense can very easily set you back +$1500. Without a good lense your shots will never look pro. I find there's always something better to spend that much money on rather then a lense you'll use twice a year. Oh come on. You missed the point. He would be spending money if he actually had it.. despite what he'll tell you. I find it appauling that there's someone here on the forums with somewhat reasonable intelligence who is living in that kind of poverty. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a similar situation on a US political forum. Moxie can't go back to school and enrole in something because immigrants have completely taken that portion of our system over and have unreasonably driven up enrolment grades. I find it troubling that someone is posting on a forum and dumpster diving. That is a symptom of a bigger problem this country has.

Geoffery? Where are you? What do you think of this post. What does this tell you about our country and the shape we are in?

Conservatives Admit that Daycare Progam

Child care is a catch 22. If you don't provide it, they will not work and we might spend more on welfare payments. As far as getting people to make wise decisions, many people don't. Many people don't go through the bother of getting condoms and take chances. I don't think we'll be able to stop that. So if someone wants a handout to put their kids in PRIVATE childcare (like in the US), then I'll have to support that so I don't have to pay more. Basically, if you make minimum wage, and you want your kid in child care, you get $30 a day to spend how you please. And guess what, just like in the US, you will all of a sudden see all these childcare providers pop up and demand will be met. But In Canada we have the ongoing sickness of trying to play Daddy and running programs that we cannot manage. Canada should not be in the childcare business. It should not even regulate childcare. You just get the money if your working and it's up the parents to put their kids where they want. No regulations. Canada's gov't does not = childare business and subsidies. Housing, Childcare, Healthcare - NO BUSINESS OF THE GOV'T. -
Lol that's such BS and media spin.

If I had to pick, I would chose the day laborer any day. ANY DAY over anohter non-needed 'skilled' genious from the 3rd world who we do NOT have jobs for.
-
Our current immigration is already doing this to our white collar and gov't jobs - LEGALLY.
-
I agree to a small extent. They are coming here to work the low paying labor jobs that we need them here to work. Many have already moved to Alberta. What we need to do, is get the point system 'intellectuals' from Asia/South Asia out of our system. The family sponsorship from Jamaica, out of our system, and especially the refugees from Samolia and elsewhere abolished form our system. I'd glady chose Christian Mexicans here to work our labor jobs over the latter.

Of course he would. The media cherry picked the Arar story yesterday and mislead everyone into a story that wasn't there. I still cannot find a video of the whole questioning. Arar should not be allowed in the US or Canada. I've never heard more mis-truths from the media in my life when it comes to Arar. The CBC calling Arar the 'Canadian telacummications engineer'. I mean the VERY FIRST thing in the story is a lie. Every aspect of Arar has been fabrications and lies. Him and his family have contributed 0 to Canada and has been a major burden on all the people on this forum. Both never working a real job in their lives. (unless you consider running for the NDP and civil servant 'insider jobs due to publicity' to be real jobs (that only the wife worked and never Arar). Arar. A joke of life in my opinion. And he has the wool over all your eyes. Over the CBC's eyes, over our immigration systems eyes, and him and his legal team and laughing all the way to the bank. He's not just a liar, he's a living lie. He's the definition of a lie IMO. And all you 'believers' are just suckers at the end of the day. He's lauging at all of you.

I disagree in a moral sense. Canadians are already shopping on ebay and shopping in the US. Guess what that does to our Canadian economy? We'll never know. All I know is that a book store in Toronto decided to charge the US listed price on his books and his business is up 89% since the same time last year. He was featured on the CBC. He said it was a concious decision and now he's making more money than ever. But he's a rarity in Canada. That is not the Canadian way of thinking. The Canadian way of thinking is 'how can I screw over my fellow Canuck'. That's how we think. Lowering prices is the personal choice of the seller in Canada. The sellers are deciding not to lower prices unjustly so they can grab more money. WE ALL SUFFER BECAUSE OF THIS. That is the piont. Even though I'M PERSONALLY NOT SUFFERING because I'm just buying off ebay, but make no mistake, I realize that damage this does to our economy and country as a whole. But it's not MY fault, it's THEIR fault for not lowering prices. In the last 2 years I have probably sent $10,000 out of the country and into the pockets of some American. This money would have went to Canadians if they played fair ball, but they chose the path of self-hatred so what do you expect me to do?

I said this before and I'll say it again. We are a self hating people that love to rip each other off. We have a class based society that are out to screw one another. Self hatred and our gov't programming is the real issue.

You won't get many clothing deals in the US. If you buy shoes at Nine West/Hush Puppies that will be cheaper. Levi's is cheaper. Anything at Ikea is 50% cheaper in the US and you will get a steal if you shop there. Diamonds are an amazing deal in the US right now. Mostly everything except clothing, produce, and dairy and are cheaper in the US. The best deal is a real estate investment in Florida right now in a cold market. By the time you get a %50 increase on your property, the dollar value should be back at 70 cents. That gives you 80% return on investement. Possibly in 5 years if you pick your property right.

Conservatives Admit that Daycare Progam

You know I gotta ask you. You've been around for a while and seen everything. Why do you still beleive that Canada is capable of running any kind of functioning social system? Where does this belief come from that maybe one day we'll get it 'right'. Do you HONESTLY, HONESTLY beleive that our gov't and politicians are capable of running a centralized daycare system when they can't even run a damn gun registry? Get with it. -

Condoleezza Rice addresses Meher Arar
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Canada / United States Relations
And that's good that they have proper leadership and security principles. I don't want trash like him in my country either. He's now a multi-millionaire off my tax dollars. Tainted blood victims? Walkerton water victims? meh.. who cares. -
Condoleezza Rice addresses Meher Arar
mikedavid00 posted a topic in Canada / United States Relations
They have little Mosque on the Prarie, next show coming out of the CBC will be Little Sikh's in the Surrey. But all kiding aside, did anyone hear about Condy Rice and Arar? Basically the news reported only that Rice admitted that Arar was treated unfairly and deported when he shouldn't have been. Well those were Canadian news orginzation lies. Condie (who I respect and ador) said that Mehar made CLAIMS to torture, and that the US and Canada have a difference in opinion to the threat of Arar and he will continue to be banned on the US no fly list and is NOT allowed in the US because he poses a threat to US security. She said that the commincation between Canada and the US could have been handled better, but that's ALL SHE SAID. She made no appology and did not say that Arar was not a threat. The CBC had a lovefest all day proclaiming that this was some victory for Arar and really slanted the story and cherry picked the news bytes. I honestly hate no one in this world. But Mehar Arar is an exception. It scares me a bit that I have true hate for someone, but I think I can say so confedantly about Arar. I really do hate him. I have feelings for him that I do not have for anyone else I know. I would give every possesion I have to get him and his family out of the country. And would probably even give up my house and car. I did email him saying I would pay his air fair to get him to leave if he revoked his citizenship. I truly hate him for what he has done to the country and the tax payers. Those are just personal feelings though. I congradulate the Americans for keeping him out of their country. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2007/10/24/rice-arar.html -

mikedavid00 replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's how it's done in the US. Each state pays for childcare. But make no mistakes, they are NOT in the childcare business. There's a big difference between a supplemental handout, and being in the daycare business. I don't mind paying a handout if someoene is working and needs it. I refuse to have my gov't in the daycare business. -

THe gov't should not be in the daycare business. They should only give out monies to those families who cannot afford it and work and the families can spend it on the daycare of their own choice. This is how it's done in the US. Do not confuse the latter with being in the healthcare business. Canada trying to 'create spots' and manage some centralized daycare system is something we should all know that our country is not capable of doing and none of us should be looking at Big Brother to look after us. Do you want Ignatieef being your dady? Let politicians do their role and get out the Daycare/healthcare business. -
Who is the most Republican candidate
mikedavid00 replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Everyone knows it's Ron Paul who's the most right wing. But he can't win an eleciton. Ron Paul also my hero. I personally believe that the Republicans will win if Hillary runs becuase Hillary is a female and regardless of policy, Americans wont be ready to elect in a female and that will most likely be the last we ever here of her..
