The majority of these communities are immigrants that you speak of. But the Jews are different. Jews and Israelis especially are a tiny minority living in a part of the world where their neighbours want them killed due to Islamic teachings and mulah's which say they should harm Jews: cite Most jews are secular. Watch a wedding show in the afternoon and you can see all the mixed marriages. The orthodox jews are segregated yes. But I have MUCH personal experience with them that I don't want to get into. I also dated a secular Jewish girl too. She was vice president of the JSA at Ottawa U. These Jews feel that they are fighting to keep their religions alive. They are hero's. they are being killed innocently and tortured in their own land. I support Isreal. I support the state of Isreal (seing as Jews have been living there for 1000's of years) I support Judism. I consider the Jews a brothers as I do a Christian and place no preference over one another. Jesus of Nazareth was a Jew. Allah akbar. Hazbolla. ALLAH! -

You know what I mean. There are work permits, and then there is just.. well... living. People abroad hold our citizenship incase they need a triple bypass. They should not be Canadian citizens. -

The list if fully posted now that I'm at home. X portions represent minority ridings. 2 hour till countdown. I decided not to vote becuase it's raining outside. The voting ceter is a block away also. But I know how my riding will vote so i'm not concerned of the outcome. Well.. I do have till 9pm I guess.. but why go out when Liberals are going to win. My Conservative MP is an immigrant from the UK who sells insurance to other immigrants. So typical. So immigrant Canadian. http://www.ninatangri.com/ She attained a Bachelor of Music, and read law for a year. In 1986, she immigrated to Canada. She is married to Ashwani Tangri, and they have three sons. Nina Tangri is the Vice-President of Tangri Insurance. In the 2000 federal election, Tangri ran as a Progressive Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Mississauga Centre, losing by a convincing margin to Liberal Member of Parliament Carolyn Parrish. She had sought the PC nomination in Mississauga West, but lost to Raminder Gill. In the 2003 Ontario provincial election, she ran as the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party candidate in the riding, but was defeated in the province-wide swing by Liberal candidate Bob Delaney. In the 2004 federal election, she was the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Mississauga—Streetsville. She lost to Liberal candidate Wajid Khan. Tangri is presently running to be the Progressive Conservative candidate in the Ontario general election, 2007. -
Ok yes I remember that. You had to bring up the ONE exception. If you remember, there were people who refused to leave their homes and people threatening to take arms. Law suits everywhere. Here? People just take it. Remember the Oka crisis? Sure enough the tree huggers in the US threatened law suits and stepped in. This was all during OUR despute. I think Canadians should encourage law suits. We should sue very quickly like mad when someone infringes on our rights. IMO, the more law suits you have, the more of a free democracy you have. Think about it.

I agree. People should not be voting who are abroad. Again. The Liberal party of Canada loves to have voters vote with no ID. They love to have people voting in other countries. It keeps them elected. Harper = Canadian. Dion = A guy who holds 2 citizenships and refused to comment on why and would not even admit to renouncing is French citizenship. Dion feels that he does not have to answer to Canadians why he is a citizen of another country and refused to renounce his citizenship. I guess he fealt that was more important to him than his own Canadian people. (wow.. what other modern country does this sort of thing happen). -

The list is completed. Now we just need to get results. I spent about 2 hours today on this painstakingly looking at the visible minority composition of each riding that I doubted was a minority riding. There were many suprises actually like all of Ottawa and other parts of Ontario that I never know had so many immigrants. I have the sheet finalized here and will post it and upload it as an attatchment. I also have a .com i can use I think and I can put it on the web. -

That is an assumption on your part. I feel the ideal system would be like this. If you paid taxes for the majority of the previous 4 years between the election, you get a vote. If not, then you don't vote. If you have lived in Canada less than 10 years, you simply do not get to vote. If you are a civil servant, you do not get to vote. This alone will exclude over half of all voters. The rest get manditory voting. There would be things like open voting (gay marriage, banning religions, etc. where anyone could vote on a referendum issue that doesn't involve funding a social service). But only those who FUND the social services get to speak on how the money is spent. I get to vote becuase we are the providers of jobs for civil servants, and all the social programs. The civil servant should not have a say on their own paycheck so to speak because we don't get to vote for our paychecks now do we? You will also see that a great many of these voters will be low income working people struggling to get by in life. They will certainly want to have their money spent wisely. i find it troubling when 30% of people working in Canada are living off private sector tax dollars and can vote down lines that will enhance their payckeck. This is a problem in our system that needs to be remedied. -

I'm still deciding wether I should vote. I just may not. I mean.. lets get real Libearls are a shoe-in in my riding because I live in a Muslim, Pakistani riding.. about 15% of my area is Pakistani and that is enough to tip the vote one way. -

You must force people to vote or get a fine. It's the only way to ensure that everyone democracy. Immigrants vote proportionally higher than Canadians so democracy is not working currently. I will be completing a data analisys study of all the ridings in Ontario and link the vote to ethnic origin to I can PROVE TO YOU ALL what immigration is doing to our electoral system, and country. Maybe Jennie will learn something. I support McGuinty because he's not going to mess with our schools. That's the only reason why. And MMP? HELL NO! -

If you are don't pay taxes, you should not vote. If you are a benefaciary of our social system without paying for it, you should have no say on how it's run. I truly beleive that. -

Your wrong. There is a written English test under many categories of Immigration. Go to the internet and study like I have on these issues. Atleast your willing to read up on stuff which is good. Eventually you'll be conservative minded. But you need to learn some life lessons first. You need to go into a job and loose it to an immigrant. You need to have a loved one die becuase our joke medical system is clogged with people from the 3rd world who cannot speak english.. Why not go read up on what an insurance policy is and how one works. Then see if our healthcare is insurance based. And then see how it's bound to fail. So you see, I have fact, you have a lot of reading up to do. -

mikedavid00 replied to Moxie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes they can certainly get a mortgage. People who can afford to come here come here with a life savings also to put on a house. THat's how they do it. The ones who do not end up in apartment buildings. Welcome to Canada - For New Immigrants This program is directed to new immigrants who have obtained landed immigrant status within the last three (3) years. Must have a down payment of 35% from own resources. In some instances, the lender may except a 25% down payment (if employed and not on probation). No requirement to prove income with mortgages under $500,000 And that was a difficult place. The ethnic brokers will get the mortgage with 5% down. Trust me.
