26% of Calgary are now visible minorities. When a riding turns 20% visible minority, they elect Liberal (and sometimes NDP). This is factual. Go look it up. I've been saying this for years to you guys and it goes in one ear and out the other. It's so frustrating talking to you guys because you let your inner biased ideals overcome the facts of math and reality. Eligible voters were 665,045. The voting turn out was %53.24. There was 354,070 voters. NOW LETS BREAK DOWN THE ACTUAL NUMBERS AND DEAL WITH FACTS: Winner - Naheed Nenshi Actual Votes - 140,263 Runner Up - Ric McIver Actual Votes - 112,386 3rd place Barb Higgins Actual Votes - 91,359 --- Total VISIBLE MINORITY (majority in many parts now) poplution in Calgary: 232,465 The difference in votes between the winner and runner up is only 27,877 people. Total ISLAMIC population in Calgary: 28,920 TOTAL POPULATION IN CALGARY: 1,071,515 --> THE OUTCOME WAS WAS SWAYED BY 27k Votes ONLY 15% OF CALGARIANS WANTS THIS GUY IN OFFICE. Why do the left here on the forums love immigrants? Because they know they are the only people who keep the Liberals elected. The 'party of immigrants'. That's why they are so loved and adored. We do not need these people here, they aren't required here, we have high unemployment, and don't have work for them. BUT AGAIN, THIS GOES IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER. HOPEFULLY ONE DAY SOME OF YOU WILL 'GET IT'.

There's lots of water (and power) for everyone, there just isn't the government doing their jobs and delivering power and water to the people anymore. As far as amalgamating and the EU, I would suggest that you not compare that with what is going on over here. The EU is simply to make life easier for everyone in Europe. If the US and Canada were to separate into distinct countries, sharing a currency and easier travel between our countries would be very beneficial to us. Greece is Greece. Italy is Italy. France is France. They will never become a single country. Don't skew what is going on in the EU to mean that they are somehow one country. That will never happen. When I was young and stupid I used to be so 'afraid' of Quebec separating. I felt that somehow we wouldn't be 'safe' if Quebec separated. The best thing for Quebec and the people of Quebec and the culture of the people is to separate. Hopefully we could share a currency and have easier access to work in each others countries with much easier border passing, but Quebec will have it's own sovereign country and it's own culture. Quebec's socialist welfare attitude will come to an end VERY quickly. They simply cannot afford socialized medicine and welfare checks for the 3rd world. I can assure you they will no longer allow rift raft wandering into Quebec. Who knows, they might lower taxes and businesses might move there. I know for sure that they will allow private healthcare as they are already leading Canada in that regard. Anything is possible. Who knows.. it might even be.. BETTER over there in given time. Separation works. Small borders work. I don't see why we have to operate like China and Russia or act as some 'super power'. That certainly doesn't benefit us. It actually makes us POORER and ruins our local culture. Maybe we need to embrace our borders and who we really are as people. I have nothing to do with Natives up north. I have nothing to do with Quebecer's. I have nothing to do with Easterners. Give them their oil that belongs to them. Let's give Alberta their oil money and they can immigrate the whole world into their province and see how well they do. They can take their lands back and we can go our separate ways. This is just natural and way it should be. This federal gov't stuff is nonsense that helps no one.

Wow I'm proud of you. You've come a long way since years past. You are finally understanding the real gov't and what they are about. This is why I am FOR separation of the Americas and Canada. Smaller countries = less gov't and more accountability. Also Allows competition. Do you think if Quebec separates, it will be able to afford to have thousands of Haitian and Islamic indolents wandering in each year to have kids and sit on welfare and get free healthcare? Hell NO! The money wont be there anymore to give freebies out to the world. Quebec will be forced to fix itself and its local culture will grow stronger. This is why I'm for breaking up the Canada and the US. We are too different and divided. The heads of state get way too much money and are too powerful.

It's been a few years since I looked, but wow have things changed. Can someone please give commentary on exactly what is going on here. USA and Japan no longer leader the pack. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2004rank.html?countryName=India&countryCode=in®ionCode=sas&rank=163#in

Unheralded "Eco-Tax" hits Ontario shoppers
mikedavid00 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Ah I see. So we should hit up with fee's on items that are recyclable. Why didn't I think of that. I guess that is 80% of the grocey's we buy. I guess we can move to that next. We can have a surcharge on all packaged material. The gov't really needs the money really badly. But those TV's. You know they also drain energy. I think we should be hit up with a NEW surcharge ontop of the tax and other surcharge for an 'energy wastage' fee. We can put it on the big TV's. I guess this 'Works for me'. -
That's all I've done here these past years and my HOURS of research go in one ear and out the other. All I do here is source claims.

I hate it when people are disingenuous. It's a very low life thing to do to lie and promote an agenda. We should all be here to find out the truth and learn. Go visit the site again and do some reading: Skilled workers - principal applicants 40,735 You can do the rest of the math.

What about the TV's? I'm just curious if you really think they are putting the money toward this. -
August I've been saying this for years and years and no one 'gets it'. 1 in 4 people work for the gov't who work full time in Canada and pay taxes. About 80% of the combined household income over 100k a year, is from the gov't workers. The majority of private sector workers actually make about $16 an hour if I remember correctly. Each gov't worker workers will cost the tax payer (private sector worker) between 3 million and 11 million dollars through their lifetime. We 'Reverse Robin Hood' system where we take from the poor and give to the rich so to speak. The gov't workers pay dues to their union to protect themselves and promote their interest. You should read a fire fighters publication. Or some of the teacher magazines. They have huge political motives because it's the politicians that will determine their salary raises. This is the reason why Mayors like unions and always give into them. These are why public workers never get laid off. I'm suggesting that there are SO MANY public workers in Canada, that they are a voting bloc that matters and can sway any election so they are treated well. Basically it's a form of corruption: a conflict of interest. I've said over and over that gov't workers should NOT be allowed to vote, and unions should be outlaws. The key to higher wages is to STOP saturating the labor market with immigrants and let the natural law of supply and demand take place ($20/h Tim Hortons workers during Calgary's boom). But I can talk about this until I'm blue in the face but people simply don't get it. It's intellectually not on their level I guess.

That's the thing. She's not needed. Remember the key word is needed. Tell that she's needed to all my educated friends with degree's who can't find work in their field. Educated immigrants are NOT needed in Canada. -

Wow you're so unintelligent. You have the logic of a 15 year old. Like a high school student. -
Stop spreading mistruths. 70% of immigrants are family sponsored. Even those under 'economic' are a joke. 70% of those cannot find solid work within the first 5 years they are here.

Why does Ontario need all this extra money? -
So being anti-immigration is all of a sudden 'radical'? funny I just came back from Montreal and am wondering where all the immigrants were. Some Chinese people here and there? Was it the 2 dozen Haitians I saw who are Christian and spoke French? The immigrants they have there is NOTHING... **NOTHING** compared to here in the GTA. I still fail to see what Quebec is so upset over. There are so few immigrants that it's almost like there isn't any. All I hear is French being spoken and the rare English. Come here and you will hear neither being spoken.

I disagree. It disrupts the natural law of supply and demand. -
So larger populated countries will provide a greater quality of life to their citizens. There are factual statements, and then idealism. You just spouted off an idealism that made sense to you at the moment, but anyone who knows anything will tell you that population does not equate to a better quality of life. Go tell that China, Russia, India, etc. Go to Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and ask people on the street if they are satisfied with where their live and are happy over all. Ask if 'life is tough'. Then ask the same to someone here in Canada. We need to start embracing our local cultures and separate into our own nations all through North America. If we have a north american union and common currency, it won't be bad at all. Europe will always be a collection of smaller countries and cultures with their own immigration policies. I dont see why we can't do the same here in North America. Now that I'm older I have to say that Quebec got it right all along. Quebec separating is very natural. They'll be in for a shock though when they realize that they have to get tough on welfare, lower taxes, and start to speak English. If they don't, then they'll become a poor country which is good because any lumber for sale will be cheaper for us to buy and it would be cheap for us to visit. The poverty would enhance their culture and the gov't would most likely legalize 'everything' for a quick cash grab. See how well it works out? Separation works.

Tamil refugee/terrorists must be close
mikedavid00 replied to eyeball's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
They come to Canada because their relatives are here and they know that we are suckers that will let them in. It's a VERY far land to travel to considering all the other possibilities. Funny how people think that they are the 'innocent' just 'landing here' aimlessly. Oh no. Tamil refugees have been steadily taking advantage of my tax dollars and hijacking our political system since 1985. They target us out because our politicians want their votes and we let them in easy. We have whole Tamil elementary schools in Scarborough where they teach about Sri Lanka in class. We promote Tamil trash coming to Canada. Tamils have a very bad reputation within the South Asian community. They are known as being welfare indolents, criminals, liars, cheats, etc. If there is a night club with Tamils, then my friends don't want to go in it. The women get sexually harassed. I could go on and on with stories about this. In Ottawa we had Samoli's. But Samoli's were much less aggressive than Tamils. It is true I saw the Tamil's grabbing womens arms and standing by the washroom. Nah I wont go into stories. Anyhow, we need to ship these people out that are here currently. Forget about letting them in, we need to deport them. Whole cities. GET THEM OUT -

I don't see a problem with the statement at all. Of course, some of you should read up on the funding sources of this forum. Again members of this forum are always mis-informed or beside the real issue. The owners of this forum cannot do things to jeopardize funding. That's the real issue at hand here. -
I heard about this on that Russian news station. An intellectual of some sort said that he believed the US would break up into 4 countries due to growing cultural differences. He was seriously about it too citing historical evidence etc. After all the Glen Beck protests and all the tea parties, maybe there is something to this. After all I've reached a point that I want to move to another country or area and leave this province. This place is no longer my home and I already feel like I'm living in another 3rd world shite hole. I would love to see the east coast separate into their own country and create new provinces. Quebec and Ontario would be separated also. Northern Ontario would sperate into its own state. Who knows what would happen out West. I would lump California in the BC. You know it's not really such a big deal to separate into smaller countries and share a similar currency. Some countries would have private health care (Quebec), some would have no taxes. ALL would have their own immigration policy and we'll see how much Ontario with it's limited revenues are going to be allowing immigrants from the 3rd world to wander in. The federal gov't is bad in general and the smaller the country, the less powerful they are (ie military, big spending, huge federal buildings, etc). For instance, Ontario makes a lot of its money through the federal gov't protected banking. We'll see how long that lasts when a neighboring country like 'Manitoba And Saskatchewan' open up various loop holes to ensure banking moves there. This kind of competition is a good thing. I'm all for separating Canada and the US into smaller countries and sharing a currency. The good that would come out of it is too numerous to list. One thing for sure though, we would embrace our own culture. I'm talking local native culture. East Coast, Prairies, etc. In my estimation, the East Coast would fair the best in Canada and the west would be the most wealthy in the US. What do you think?

I've never filled out a Census. I do like the information because it uncovers how many Canadians actually do not work.

Toronto Municipal Elections 2010
mikedavid00 replied to August1991's topic in Local Politics in Canada
That's good for her, but Canada doesn't need her here. We don't even have enough jobs for ourselves. This is again a 'number's factual thingy' that the far left don't like discussing. She does a lot of damage by being here that is too long to get into. Her dreams came true here, but at a cost to a Canadian. We are the only country in the world that allows this 'crime' to happen. (Australia arguably also). Let's put it this way, I would MUCH rather have welfare indolents from Somalia here than your wife as your wife causes MUCH more damage to our country than the indolents. But that is probably a bit over your head to reason with you exactly why. (and no it's not your wife in specific of course, I'm just using her as an example.. people like her do not benefit Canada at all, but rather do 'extreme' damage to our country). -

The far left always do what you do. Do not address the issue at hand, but bring something totally off topic into it in order to pull at emotions etc to convince people of your argument (Hitler, Nazi's, war crimes etc when discussing a topic of cup cakes). It's so easy to see through and it's amusement to me. It works on other simpletons, not myself though. -

The whole country is messed but a normal part of Canada is a place where people speak Enlgish or French around you when you when you are going about your day. That's the simplest way to describe it. And you probably live in a normal part of Canada. That's great. Now get us out of here!
