I don't give a damn about truth and reconciliation
myata replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It may have been wrong. Even terrible. But I have not done it. And I have no affiliation to the bureaucracy that was responsible for it, and perpetrated it. So stop peddling the notion that I should have any notion and any trace of responsibility for their act and its consequences. Them is not me, a wrong logical connection. What they say is not a connection: a true connection should be a lot more. They set up the system the way that I de facto can change nothing in it only token push the button ritual every so many years. So they'll have to carry all responsibility. Obviously. None of my fault and nothing to do with me. That was easy. How a democratic government should deal with responsibility for its acts, and failures? In a democracy, it's a notion. Not here, obviously. Just another piece of evidence. That makes sense, to me at least. Every little thumb getting into a tall chair and begging assigning duties, guilts and responsibilities to me the moment their a$$ lands in it, none, really. It wasn't their job and it makes no sense but they forgot and why wouldn't they. If anyone still wants to remember. -
No, seriously how can one respond to this? Only with a very genuinely looking attack of dumbness, right? For a human with a brain and at least some sense of what is right and the principle though, the range of logical possibilities for such cases is very narrow: - dumb to the core, or - devoid of any traces of integrity or principles liar rotten to the core. If there are any other possibilities let's discuss them; but I don't see any. One cannot agree to the above, let it slip silently and pretend to have intelligence and principles. This would be a logical impossibility, nonsense.

I don't give a damn about truth and reconciliation

There's a general problem in Canada: a tradition, and a pattern of failure. Every massive failure even worse, one that affected many lives is a failure. There's nothing honorable, no achievement at all in crying over it, decades or centuries later it's is a worthless tradition that trivializes and normalizes failures, making them a permanent staple in the country's history. No, nothing can be done now. But here's some worthless money and some useless tears. That was the problem. You won't fish anything there along the ideological divide. Both parties are complicit and produce failures as a regular pattern. Because of the culture of entitlement and near absolute absence of accountability and responsibility. Not to mention competition for the best skill or even basic competence. It guarantees that it will happen again and again. So save your tears and do like those happy bureaucrats do not that they say. Just doing our job, nothing personal. And nothing to do with us. -
Nope. Done, confirmed and stamped. They just can't say a word about their Prolific Lying Idol whose every fart they have to take as an absolute and ultimate revelation. Just doesn't work in so many attempts, and no further hope. About Putin, a fascist dictator following Hitler in every footstep: "and I said, ‘This is genius.’" "You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.” "I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him." And about another bloody dictator: <diot> praises Kim Jong Un as "very honorable" Guess the author? No they couldn't see because the organ of senses isn't there anymore neither the eyes, ears, brain totally disconnected. Look at the mindless puppet crowd. Do you want to be anything like them? Do you still need your brain and the dignity, respect, honesty, will and responsibility, everything that goes with it?

WSJ: Bidens Profited From Family Name
myata replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The link in the OP is to "newsmax" not "wsj". Can't get one sentence or a few words without a lie. As in chemistry there are water-repulsive materials so these folks are repulsive of honesty and truth. Organically and naturally. Never take one sound of what the lying mob is telling you without checking it crisscross and over again. Just common sense with a repeated, pathologically lying mob. -
Indeed. And it's just too bad we cannot figure out that a partisan political system greatly exacerbates this risk by bringing any whiffs of authoritarianism in the mainstream parties right to the top of the social agenda. Partisanship, populism and authoritarianism, erosion and decay of democracy. So easy. Seen so many times. Yet for some reason we can't seem to grasp it - or actively avoiding it?
-
It saddens me to say it because a binary political system can no better function without a decent opposition to the power than clapping with one hand, but it appears that GOP is entering an irreversible downward spiral into the ground by listening to, following and giving in to an authoritarian populist mob with zero integrity, responsibility and attachment to the democracy. The time is high to renew the democracy to avoid a real and serious risk of decay. If it wouldn't be realistic to modernize the political system to widen the range and spectrum of representation, a renewal of conservatism on the principles of responsibility and democracy can be the only option. I hope that conscientious Republicans are thinking about this. These questions cannot be muted or avoided.
-
No, seriously, say it why wouldn't you? Let everyone see how your brain works, your honesty, integrity and responsibility. Why wouldn't anyone with a milligram of a brain and conscience say it? A fascist dictator invading a neighbor independent state, "This is genius." So can you say it, yes or no? It's that simple it will show you for who and what you are, unmistakably, and no volumes of duplicitous hypocritical chat could hide it. Unless you're brainless sheep in a lying herd led by a pathologically lying buffoon. No, no other logical possibilities, I insist. Just admit it.
-
No seriously just say it. We want to believe! "We hate Nazis with all our heart. This is why we disagree with our pathologically lying Clown Idol whose every fart we take for an ultimate revelation when he calls Hitler of today "a genius"." Why couldn't you, it's so easy. What if you try again, what could be the problem? The tongue stuck or a sudden spasm in the throat? What a bunch of sad hypocritical to the jokes. You have the brain for a reason. Just try to remember, it can be important.

Jonathan Turley lays an egg.

The (formerly) respectable Republicans are in a big conundrum these days: how to handle possible nomination of an obvious "zero integrity" pathological liar jerk now also indited of multiple offences? Like how to explain, rationalize this, and show to the public? No. You cannot. There's no way of explaining the insanity. Either the Republican party will go off the rails of sanity and decency. Or it will take the democracy with it. You choose. -
Maga folks here are little but a bunch of brainless hypocrites. Look how they're up in arms against Nazis. But don't forget to look at these too: Trump praised North Korea's Un and Russia's Putin calling him "genius", the dictators. His North Korea adventure was an accomplished failure, achieved perfect zero nothing. Hungary's Orban is a known admirer of Trump. Trump praised Orban. Hungary is the only Western country that just recognized Belorussia's dictator Lukashenko. So who hates violent dictator thugs here? Can you figure it out based on the facts, not the volume of the chat? Every human is born with a brain. The mob has decided, voluntarily and consciously, to part ways with it. They don't need it really, because their world is very simple, only two labels: yes, yes our dear Idol whatever comes out of your throat (or ar-e); and oh horror, horror anathema for anyone who chooses to stand their ground and oppose them. This is not some baseless fishing expedition about "corruption" of which no evidence has been shown. These are recorded facts of the reality. They don't know the difference anymore, past that. You can though. Just remember: every human is born with a brain. What you do with it, is only your choice, and responsibility.

In those times Europe was ruled by empires. Cultures and people were brutally suppressed like Polish rebellion, that was the peace of a concrete parking lot. If you see that as you ideal time then you are an authoritarian with an admiration for empires. Then you may not see the crimes of another neo-imperialist for what they are in the reality. It makes sense, while your ramblings, none really.

Is popular democracy doomed in the time of instant news?
myata replied to myata's topic in Religion & Politics
There are no quick fixes to evolutionary dead ends. One has to change or fade away. Repetition of the default modes, worshiping the leader/elites and mob rule will get us there, eventually. -
No, no there's a difference! Many here (especially those with starry eyes fixed on the tongue of the Red Lying Clown) would love to hug and kiss murderous thugs like Putin and Un. As one of them mentioned here, Hitler was in the past, just forget it - and do all over again. Do what He says, not what you know and see.

No. It would only be the millennia old handout thing, and for an obvious reason: it would provide a survival-level, probably second or third rate living standard and not shared, broad and sustained prosperity. So, it would fix nothing. We will need to find a way to involve citizens directly in important choices and decisions. Like in juries, only for political matters. Broad citizen panels to understand and discuss problems and solutions with reason, intelligence and responsibility. More referendums, way more. Or back to the default options: rule by elites, or mob. The same thing more or less, in the history perspective. -

Ah I see it was a well-veiled irony. Well, irony means nothing to the evolution. Whoever fails to change, renew and adapt will be replaced by something else eventually. Talking never counts. -

What, CERB? Bread and circuses, like two millennia back? -

And looks like you're missing the point too. The old model of relative prosperity is stagnating. The folks down below already felt it and for a while. So band aids may not work. That just may be why they are following big mouths and deep throats promising them to bring back good old times, except in this reality time isn't going back. The only way forward is to come up with a) new and b) working better. And here, we have a problem: who's thinking? And who is interested and invested, in working positive change?
