  1. I will not be voting for Trudeau. He is empty headed and leading the same old Shawinagan-handshake Liberals.
  2. Don't let waldo deceive you with this simplistic chart. The Liberals governed under much better world conditions. The CPC reign has been more challenging. Also, remember what the Liberals did with the EI fund to make things look better than they actually were. To me the liberals and NDP represent the further erosion of private property rights. be careful listening to the charlatans here.
  3. FINALLY! A fair piece by the Canadian media. http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/colby-cosh-if-theres-a-scandal-in-the-duffy-affair-why-cant-i-spot-it
  4. Wynne tweeted that Mulcair does not have a clear or workable plan. She said his promises are unaffordable, misleading, or impossible.

When Ontario Teachers are on strike this fall JT's going to be avoiding Wynne like the plague coming election time.

  5. These are the beliefs of the NDP Socialist Caucus.
  6. I think the trial is beginning to make it clear that indeed it was Wright who had nothing to gain from his payment to Duffy, other than having tried to sort out an issue, which was his job. Remember, not anyone was clear then or is clear now on what expenses Duffy could legally claim. But one thing IS clear, at least to PM Harper (and to me) that regardless of vague and outdated rules, expenses claimed but NOT incurred is wrong! Wright mentioned that again, in his defense, of not wanting to go along with Duffy in trying to say that his home in PEI WAS his primary residence. It was Wright who completely understood and still understands, as PM Harper does, that such excuse would not do the trick of justifiably claiming expenses which Duffy did NOT incur. Period.
  7. The proper electoral thing to do if one is dissatisfied with all choices is to write Decline on the ballot. That is official.
  8. But Chretien lied about the GST and got elected and re-elected. That was a proven lie. Right now with the current situation it is a left wing hope.
  9. There is absolutely no proof Harper lied about the Duffy affair. But other politicians HAVE lied. Here let me refresh your selective memory. How could you tell when Chretien was lying? I mean, he lied by saying he would scrap the GST. How many of Chretien's advisers at the time were in on that lie? And how many more years did Chretien govern and how many more times was Chretien elected after he lied to the Canadian voters???
  10. PM Harper has never changed his story. Give us one example of how Harper has changed his story, according to you. You can't because you have nothing.
  11. Could you provide a link to your allegations because you are clearly pulling things out of thin air: Harper never fired Wright. You can never show me any direct quote by Harper saying that he fired Wright. Harper had the full confidence in Wright BEFORE Harper became aware of the details. Wright did resign and Harper accepted such resignation, thereby having dismissed Wright. You have no proof whatsoever that Harper changed his story. You simply concoct some strange time line out of context and then simply believe Harper changed his story. Show us some proof of your allegations or stop misleading people.
  12. Do you think Wright is telling the truth when he speaks under oath? Yes or no?
  13. I guess you need a little history lesson, Hudson. Here it is in simple English. Different decades produce different intangibles. You choose to deceive. Paul Martin and his Liberal Party were only picking the flowers planted by the Progressive Conservative Party. To wit: on the sound banking, in 1987 the PC government changed the Bank Act to permit investment banking but with traditional leverage ratios; and, on the current good economic performance, that PC government developed NAFTA and brought in Canada's VAT, both of which have been fundamental to the superior economic performance which has been falsely credited to the aforementioned Liberals. Denouement on the 'innovative' spelling: As they have been doing for the past half-century the Liberals exploited the voters' ignorant rage over the 'increased' taxation (the country's 'books' show it to have been, as promised, tax neutral with the removal of a manufacturer's tax) on the hustings with a promise to repeal it, won the 1993 election and then conveniently forgot that husting's promise.
  14. Where did you mention "the terrible NDP party in B.C."?
  15. In the shadow of Paul Martin... A few will actually recall that Martin chopped 40 per cent off the federal contribution to social programs ...... that the 1990s under Martin's guidance was the worst decade of the century (except for the 1930s) in terms of growth, productivity, productive investment, employment and standard of living. The economy was booming around the world, and they still had to steal from the EI fund to balance the budget. Liberals are addicted to stealing.
  16. JT was in Ajax today touting his plan for fairness for the "struggling middle class". On August 26th he will be back as the guest of honor along with York Centre candidate Michael Levitt at a $1500 per person fundraising cocktail party hosted by billionaire Bernard Sherman and his wife. Oh, the irony.....I mean the middle class spends $1500 on a cocktail dinner regularly, right?
  17. Will this actually be a part of the NDP platform? Or would it be something they don't talk about during the election, but adopt these ideas if they form government? Anyone can sign the petition. We, the undersigned, applaud Federal NDP Leader Tom Mulcair for advocating a national childcare plan, a $15/hour minimum wage, and for opposing repressive Bill C-51 and the extension of the bombing of Iraq, and into Syria. At the same time we call on Tom Mulcair to advance, as a priority, the following policies, which we call the 4 P's, as part of the current NDP election platform: Pharmacare – a national drug plan will save Canadians over $7 billion, and is urgently needed to improve public health, especially of seniors and the poor. Pipelines – the big drop in the price of oil presents a golden opportunity to oppose pipeline construction, to re-tool, and to go for green energy conversion (wind, hydro, solar, geothermal and biomass). To fund that gigantic energy shift it will be necessary to conscript the enormous accumulated wealth of the resource corporations by nationalizing Big Oil and Gas under workers' and community democratic control, while respecting Indigenous peoples' rights. Progressive taxation – it will cost much money to provide $15/day childcare and other vital social expenditures required. The federal NDP should insist, not only on plugging tax loopholes, but on steeply taxing big business, the banks and the super-rich, while phasing out the regressive HST. Palestine – over 2,000 residents of Gaza were slaughtered by Israeli forces last summer. Benjamin Netanyahu and his racist Likhud coalition were re-elected after promising there will never be a Palestinian state. The two-state solution is dead. The alternative is a one-person, one-vote, democratic secular Palestine. We ask Tom Mulcair to support the demand of Palestinian unions, civil society and unions across Canada and around the world which call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against the Zionist state until its apartheid practices end. The petition is here for all interested. https://www.change.org/p/federal-new-democratic-party-leader-tom-mulcair-we-call-on-tom-mulcair-to-advance-as-a-priority-the-following-policies-which-we-call-the-4-p-s-as-part-of-the-current-ndp-election-platform-2?recruiter=21578311&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive More information about these outstanding, nation building -to prosperity planks can be found here. http://www.ndpsocialists.ca/
  18. Yet you claim all left wing governments are good. You pretend to be fair by saying you like Brad Wall, but between the lines you credit his success to coincidence. Look what Wynne is doing in Ontario. Ontario is in big trouble because of Wynne's left wing ideology.
  19. The industry is doing very poorly. Notley has put herself in a tough spot by raising expectations for a royalty review (code for jacking up royalties). The pleasant atmosphere will not last. It's not a collaborative process that counts, but a collaborative result.
  20. What are your views on public education? Be truthful instead of using angry rhetoric.

  22. Brad Wall has turned Sask. into a have province after years of struggles under an NDP government. I'm non-partisan so I will also say Devine was a disaster, as was Alison Redford in Alberta. I call it like it is without the partisan hackisms of most members on this forum.
  23. Substitute "climate change" for "IS" in his rant and you see a great example of how a different political bogeyman is being used by the left to bring fear to the voter to their advantage. But the science is still in dispute on climate change, whereas the science is most definitely settled on ISIS. Perhaps he should be called an "ISIS denier". Funny how thestar.com didn't permit comments on that article...I wonder why oh why?

  24. One wonders just how many heads Burman thinks that Harper, Abbot & Cameron have cut off? This drivel is over the top, even for the Star, and well into tinfoil hat moon-bat territory. Just another reason why I never read the Star, the poorest excuse for a newspaper in all of Canada. And he claims to be a "teacher" of journalism. What a laugh.
  25. Tony Burman worked at the left-wing CBC for years. The left-wing CBC must be de-funded.
