Someone need tell this composite, that no country HAS TO take in refugees. They have sovereignty. They can do what the hell they want. International agreements are not binding. They require the consent of a nation who signed the treaty to follow them. Any nation can walk away from the treaty they signed at anytime and many nations refuse refugees such as Russia, China, Hungary, Poland. If the world had any intelligence they would have taken out Assad long ago and placed some complacent puppet everyone was happy with in Syria to stop the flow of refugees.

Its hard to know who is responsible in government for positive or negative effects on world markets. I mean we speculate certain comments can cause stock market panic, and certain policies we speculate stimulate and discourage economic growth but do we really know? We speculate that tax cuts and tax increases both stimulate and discourage economic growth. The same economists say both depending on their mood. I quite frankly do not think any economist can truly say a policy or law helps or does not help. They guess right? I am willing to guess the stock markets and business in general prefers Trump to Obama based on stock prices and what businesses say but I am like you-I read this. Do any of us really know? I am convinced certain Trudeau policies hinder the economy but I am conceding its based on probably my bias that too much regulation of markets and too little regulation of markets are equally as negative in impact on markets. I personally believe though Trudeau has zero on his economic policies and is a mouthpiece. I speculate Harper had more control simply because he had a Master's in Economics so would have had a personal interest in it unlike Trudeau who seems to be as deep in thought as a dim light bulb.

Not so quick. Some cultures cultivate and insist on collectivity. Argus is on point about "modern" or "urban" civilization. The co-relation between not only mental but physical illnesses and loneliness is well documented and behavior such as certain crimes, suicide can be exasperated by it. Most physicians will tell you loneliness is at the root cause of so many of the things they see, particularly with seniors, teens, immigrants, homeless people, people with disabilities. It is a phenomena related to cultural, religious, social, economic and so many other factors and cohesive, healthy, supportive family units... call me old fashioned, they have always been a building block to a healthy society. Religions used to cultivate and support strong healthy families. They and families have been replaced by other faith belief systems such as cults, conspiracy theories, gangs, the cell-phone and internet. We have allowed new external elements to suck out our individuality and souls and I always said show me a lonely person I will show you someone lacking in spirit and sense of self, sense of pride-individuality-purpose-meaning. Loneliness when it comes down to it is a spiritual disease. We are by nature meant to be social creatures not isolated ones. Homo sapiens are meant to be pack animals as all apes are. If we can't eat each other's fleas and share bananas its not good.

Italians are always kissing and toughing each other and their private parts and driving fast cars so they spread it that way. Seriously I was supposed to go to a wedding in Northern Italy this summer. They are telling people not to travel there now. I will have to wait and see but I am not worried seriously. Erdogan tried to continue Muslim Brotherhood extremist financed terror cells in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Chad, Dahomey, Syria, Bahrain, Yemen. All he managed to do is piss off Saudi Arabia in Yemen, the UAE and Jordan.
