  1. Liked the mw series of games that I can finally play online. I'm a sniper and mw3 is not sniper friendly unless your a quickscoper. Many a profanity has been uttered at me because i like to dust people off halfway across the map. Hockey is all right. I do prefer the ps3 over xbox. Played both. I am debating buying a new PC if Rome 2 total war comes out later next year. I'm wondering if it will be available to buy on a Mac because it's PC upgrading time. I don't need a laptop because the iPad does the tablets job.
  2. Except that winning is a very efficient solution. Right now we have two major thought processes opposite in nature trying to solve problems and improve lives for everybody, however they are polar opposites and have their supporters. I'd say the competition is the process in which a solution comes about, and the process is continuously ongoing.
  3. No your model has failed, other people around the world are doing the same work at a competitive price, it's why we have massive growth in southeast Asia and south America. The business has to make money. ThEre are other places to work other than north America. We can't pay GM workers huge salaries because the demand isn't there for GM vehicles anymore. So we are supposed to pay huge wages for cars to sit in a lot or are some workers going to have to be laid off so other workers can still get high wages? Are you willing to pay 40 dollars for a burger and Fries at McDonalds so their workers get paid more?
  4. And go and read the classified section of the western producer and key in on the help wanted section.
  5. Tell that to the people of Zimbabwe, they believe they're doing productive work and are getting paid millions of Zimbabwe dollars for it. What of there's no demand for that work, shall they be paid high wages to dig holes and fill them the next day?
  6. Farms don't pay minimum wage anymore, wages have to increase to compete with the oilfields and potash mines. If those unemployed Canadians are so smart, why are they unemployed and protesting. Simple logic states that some money is better than no money, and that might mean those entitled occupy type protestors might have to get their hands dirty. For all the education they have and how smart they think they are, they really lack in thinking and decision making skills.
  7. Ask Mugabe what happened when he tried that. One million dollar bank notes anyone?
  8. We are only sitting on piles of money because of all the unpredictability there is in the world right now. Nobody in their right mind is making decisions like hiring anybody because nobody knows what the regulatory regime will be like in a few years and the economic situation of Europe and the USA. One only needs to look at how well cutting rates in Canada has gone in improving our economy. When there was stability and rate cuts happened, businesses grew more and hired more. One could also look what happened in the oil patch when stelmach raised rates and wall dropped his. If you put the screws to the corporations by jacking up the rates, they take their business elsewhere, ask stelmach. Unfortunately many people in the USA are going to learn his lesson the hard way when unfortunately Obama gets re elected. Why people want to go with the Chavez style economy is beyond me.
  9. Portugal isn't a success, that country is broke. There is a huge problem of prescription drugs being sold through the black market. Ever hear of dilautids? People hard up for cash start selling dilautids for 20 bucks a pill and away we go. We have tried a system when everything was legal and it was a literal circus, why go back to it? If you think taxpayers are going to want to foot the bill for a ridiculously expensive treatment program for junkies and tying up doctors which could be used for more constructive purposes, your missing the boat. By making anything legal, that removes an incentive for some people to stop, and if it's all legal the taboo goes away and then society has more junkies to deal with.
  10. The only thing that is failing is your conspiracy theory
  11. What did they destroy, by cutting the public sector and attacking the deficit. The only fiscal capacity that's being destroyed is you and your I'll trying to put the kibosh on oil sands exports which would be a large boost to tax revenues and the economy. What's worse is the economy didn't need stimulating in the first place.
  12. The NHL is still in growth phase, the growth of the game since Bettman has arrived is in disputed, it has grown and grown huge. And a part of that strategy has been expansion in southern markets. A painful part of that strategy is that it costs money to gain new customers, and that goes for everything. Like I said these owners are billionaires and know more about business than Joe Canada hockey fan who clings to the glory days when the league was in financial trouble. The board of governors is aware that growing the game down south will take time and money, and I'm sure an expansion down there of that magnitude wasn't thought up Of in a scale of years, but probably decades. Given that the NHL and NBA have similar attendance and comparable tv ratings shows that the NHL is gaining ground on the NBA. As the NHL grows it will get more favorable tv contracts. The NHL is growing down south whether you want to accept it or not. The thrashers moved to Winnipeg because the owner sold the team. In case you haven't noticed, there is a recession down there which has hurt some owners more than others. Not only that, the move to Winnipeg had a lot of caveats as in the stadium needs to be sold out all the time at inflated prices or it's game over. The team in Winnipeg failed just like Atlanta did, and why teams in every league get moved around including the NFL. Unfortunately Joe Canada hockey fan isn't seeing the forest for the trees and that the league is in competition with 3 other leagues for an audience, and those three other leagues all have 30 teams spread out over a wide geographical area.
  13. And protection, money laundering, smuggling, intimidation, etc.
  14. I actually don't have a problem with Romney playing the religious right in the republican party for suckers to win the nod. He's a capable manager that has a track record of getting the job done. Would I want mr. Nice guy to win or mr. Get the job done? I didn't believe Romney's comments in the primaries because Romney's main belief is being the guy in charge and staying there. He didn't become governor of mass. By being like mr. Canada. Politicians will say anything to get elected. I'd even go further to say it's refreshing to have somebody with his ear out and going with how the electorate is shifting. It's just smart politics.
  15. Because we have fools like you on our team who don't know their head from their ass and are a branding nightmare who scare away independent voters.
  16. I wouldn't say it's wasted. Portugal isn't an example I'd recommend given their financial situation to pay for this treatment which costs taxpayers a fortune in itself. As we all know Portugal isn't the beacon of finance. Then there's addicts in general. In order for treatment to work, addicts have to truly want to go through with it and put in the work to succeed. Having arbitrary terms set by govt doesn't work either. For example x months of rehab then out you go does not equal a successful rehab program. Have we seen any court proceedings of drug use. I think one would be hard pressed to find a full six month conviction under the cdsa for Schedule viii on a first offense let alone a fine. One only has to look at some northern communities to look at what could happen when legal drug use gets out of control. Taking away an incentive for people to stay away from drug use would IMO cost society far more than opening the floodgates and legalizing everything. given western society's fondness for getting "f***ckd up" and removing the social taboo of being labelled a criminal, legalizing everything would be damn close to a zombie movie given the adverse effects of some drugs out there. One only has to look at the wild west of the late 1800s to observe why there was such a huge push to criminalize ALL intoxicating substances. They didn't call it the wild west for nothing. The only way drug use is nixed starts at the bottom. The sooner people realized that drugs are bad and that one lives a far healthier life by staying away from them, the demand dries up and we have fewer and fewer zombies which are as big as a drain on resources as fighting organized crime, however given western society's spoiled brat attitude, that isn't going to happen. Organized crime has existed forever and has always found ways to make money. Take away drugs and they'll go into other avenues to generate revenue.
  17. Precious metals, commodities for the time being. Some goes to emerging markets which is a far more efficient way of bettering their situation than govt foreign aid. Other than that it's pretty much a freeze given uncertain conditions in the macro-economy. If there's one thing worse than oppressive govt regulations that go to far it's the threat of oppressive govt regulations that go to far. In Canada we are seeing the effects of the increased money supply through sky high house prices, energy, food, etc. Part of me used to smile when the USA announced QE1 and 2 because the price of commodities I sell took off. Just because Tvs and computers don't cost very mich anymore doesn't mean other things haven't increased. That along with a nation of 300 million people trying to square away their debt doesn't help inflation either. They're not using borrowed money to buy crap anymore, thheyre using their paychecks to pay off their debt. To put it simply. The USA is hungover and the powers that be are trying to end the hangover by the "hair off the dog" method of providing more "alcohol" so that e party can get started again. Essentially, the powers that be want the American people to be on a nonstop bender than having a few social drinks.
  18. To me that sounds like borderline harassment. However it is pretty light evidence to take to court as the perp. Can state somebody else was using the account. The other problem with constant bombardment in social media is the fact a person doesn't have to face their victim which also depletes any hope of remorse when confronting someone face to face. Also social media provides a greater platform for what I call "the tough guy from 25 yards away" or the suddenly tough person who freaks out in the back of a police car when the door is closed. My 2 cents would have to be a regulation for Facebook in that users would have to require a password confirmation every x amount of time to ensure that the users are who they are and that nobody is messing around with their accounts sort of like an electronic sig. That some organizations go through. That would help with law enforcement obtaining warrants to get a users information which should lead to an arrest. I know Facebook is prickly about fake users and shenanigans regarding people using others accounts. I'm wondering if the RCMP are in the middle of an ITO to the JP or judge to get a warrant to go through mr. Pervs Facebook account. However from my understanding of the ycja, it's quite a process to get a y.o. To serve jail time and rightfully so. I wonder if the cops are in the process of
  19. The trend over the past 20 years suggests that the expansion down south and current management has done well for the NHL. He numbers are stating that the league is growing and is on par with the NBA. That's a big accomplishment for a league that started in Canada, and I like it's growth prospects. The league can't grow in Canada, there are already hockey fans there. As you know business takes some losses expanding in new markets as it costs more to gain customers rather than retain old ones. Like I said I trust the judgement of billionaires running something like the NHL over Joe hockey fan. Maybe they know a little something about business expansion. Better billionaires running the NBA as they are better suited to turning the ship around than Joe basketball fan.
  20. Care to elaborate other than "he's lying"
  21. So just because you don't agree with what he said he's lying and that's your guys major defense? Cripes Obama said he'd cut the deficit in half - he lied!
  22. And people who have billions of dollars say otherwise. Does Joe hockey fan know how to make billions of dollars and grow a business? I doubt it. I like the direction the owners have taken, the business side of the game is doing far better than before.
  23. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/940655-nba-lockout-5-reasons-the-nhl-is-surpassing-the-nba Looks like trouble to me. The trend is your friend and the trend is favoring the NHL to the dismay of whiny Canadian purists, thank goodness they are disposable fans.
  24. Nope, the govts of Alberta, sask, mb, bc, nova scotia, and Nfld do.
