Howard Dean speaks for Canadian Liberals
gerryhatrick replied to geoffrey's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That sounds like Iggy talk. Are you an intellectual? When you say "the Republicans are irrelevant" do you mean something else that only you can understand? -
Yeah, but you can't tell the difference between yourself and the influence you wield, and that of an American Senate committee chairman. Think on it awile. What you say does not shape the opinions of others. You aren't endangering anyone with your "nothing to worry about here folks" ignorance/deceit (whichever it is), whereas Inhofe is. He's delayed action through his actions. That's a crime.

Bob Rae out ahead in poll of Canadians
gerryhatrick replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nice try at a drive-by, but I don't call Conservative MP's "idiots". And that's not an "argument", btw. edit: In your post "your" s/b "you're", as in "you are" rather than the possesive "your". Imagine you, learning something from a Lib! -

Advisor to the party, that's funny. If it were the case, which it's obviously not, I'd rather have him advising than Frank Luntz. EDIT: Republicans are irrelavent in the US? Geoffrey, your youth is displaying itself with comments like that. -
After watching this for a few days, I am convinced that it's a bad idea to respond to this crap. Greg, even if you only log on only once a week the spam for the past week will still be on the front page. Responding just to say "reported" just makes the impact of the shit worse for everyone. Report the garbage, sure, but leave it alone. It won't "sink into oblivion" like I mentioned before, Greg will see it either way.

There is a rule here concerning insults against 3rd parties, and you've broken it with this. Try and elevate the intelligence of your posts. -
Liberal resolution on Quebec nation withdrawn
gerryhatrick replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nice try. You mean they didn't vote for it? No, I'm aware of the facts as you are. All but 15 Liberals voted for it. That doesn't change the fact that it was Stephen Harper's brainchild, and if negative fallout ensues it belongs more to him than anyone else. -

Liberal resolution on Quebec nation withdrawn
gerryhatrick replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You attack Liberals, but you don't make any sense in doing so. Why should they bother with the resolution after the vote held the other day? And where is your critisism of Harper for his stirring of the pot, which argueably is much more responsible for the continuation of the mess and for making it much more of a problem. The BQ are pinching themselves, they can't believe the good fortune that boy brought them with his foolish vote. -
It's sad to see kids indoctrinated like that.

I'm a left-winger and I regard it as bad. If I want fascism I can move to Iran. multi-culturalism = fascism now?

I watched it the day it came out. Should be required watching in schools. Inhofe is more than just ignorant...he's willfully ignorant. He is knowingly spreading misinformation from his influencial pulpit that endangers us. It's time to stop allowing it. If you or I misinform people about something that endangers them we can be held criminally liable.

In my time on the internet I've have never seen anything quite as odd as this. It is odd, but most certainly hateful.

Ah, more slamming of Canada. Even a movie like Borat presents you with another opportunity to mash your heal in the face of our great Country. Love it or leave it Jerry, love it or leave it. He makes some valid points about multi-culturalism in that post. Right. multi-culturalism = bad. Real valid point.

Stephen Harper using the troops AGAIN.
gerryhatrick replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I guess you figure this thread needs new life. Normally, I'd suggest a new thread but that seems to come naturally. At the time of my post the thread was at the top. Don't polute the forum with your sour grapes please. Everything I've posted is reality. If you're a Harper supporter and resent it, then address his words not me. -
Liberal Party of Canada Policy Resolution:
gerryhatrick replied to Cameron's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If there was ever an example of the reluctance of this forum admin to take action when it needs to be taken, this is it. > Liberal Party of Canada Policy Resolution:, Allow "Anal Intercourse" with 14-Year-Olds This take on the reality is highly partisan and twisted and slanderous. There is a rule here against insults levelled at 3rd parties, and this fits that bill. WHY? Because the policy resolution was not as it was described in the topic title. It is a lie. It is slander. -
Stephen Harper using the troops AGAIN.

Take note that the original topic post has been updated with more information -
I must give Canada's NEW Government some credit here, it sounds like a good idea. But with most Conservative ideas it should be looked at carefully because it might not be as great as it sounds. For example, the proposed law is to make it harder for those accused of gun crime to get bail. Will this reduce gun crime? Harper says it will with this reasoning: Of course that's poor reasoning because that 40 percent he refers to is not necessarily someone who was on bail for a gun crime, and likely most of them were not. Another question of concern here is the impact this might have on trials. If you're asking a person pre-trial to offer proof as to why they should get bail then could the proceedings involved in that be used by defense lawyers? Will this be similar to all those daycare spaces that Harper said he'd create which are not materializing (as they didn't in Ontario under a similar tax-break plan)? Will it also prove ineffectual after it's provided some short-term election benifit?

"Democracy" in Afghanistan
gerryhatrick replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If by "West" you mean pick a spot on the globe and head West until you come back to that same spot, then yes...because that shit is sold accross the world. But yes you're right that most of the profit is made outside Afghanistan. As with all drugs the highest markup is the one the one made just before the consumer gets it....or the one directly after the farmer sells it. -
Good lord, you are either retarded or trolling as a bandwidth leech. Choose one, it can't be anything else. Greg himself has stated that the spammers are manually signing on. This forum does have the validation code 'test', you would have taken it to sign up. Again, you are either incredibly thick or pretending to be. Actually Greg did not say that the spammers are manually signing on, he said that they are manually replying to the registration email. See, you made a mistake. I would not now presume to call you a retard, as you called me. That would be ignorant/rude/small-minded - take your pick. I see that the forum has a validation code test for registering now. In that case I was mistaken. If that is how you react to someone when they're mistaken then I pity your husband.

Rae calls for Harper's defeat over spending move
gerryhatrick replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And when was that site updated? The CPC is on a public relations mission and their website is constantly having things striken/added/changed. Before you accuse a media story of inaccuracies you'd better have some proof, and in this case you do not. -
Rae calls for Harper's defeat over spending move
gerryhatrick replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How so? Is that your stock indiscriminate attack on him now? Expressing opposition what Harper is planning here has nothing to do with being socialist. Tell me geoffrey, if a person is in favor of ANY social programs does that make them a socialist? Further expansion of social programs? Absolutely. I guess I should have expected an evasive answer like that. Why engage in dishonest generalizations? If you don't have anything more intelligent to say about Rae than "He's a socialist" then maybe you should refrain. -
