My sense was that the gun registry was a oondoggle to start with and was politically based to secure the feminist vote after the 1989 Montreal killings. It was an unknown expense which likely indicates that it was much more than the Libs indicated. I recall that the Auditor- General could not idenrify the actual expense cuz the government of the day concealedthecostsunder several different ministries. All it did was to turnhunters and farmers into potential criminals while the gangs and criminals continued to use unregistered guns. Good riddance to this white elephant.

what you say is exactly how a lot of Canadians feel about Quebec. I agree with all you say except one point.. Quebec will NEVER be financially independent cuz they have become too reliant on the generousity of ROC much like the eternal welfare recipient.

Lets look at the facts; 1. he was governor of a state that was 47 out of 50 for job creation. 2. He closed companies and ignored how many jobs went offshore 3. He has numerous bank accts. to avoid paying US taxes 4. His party has Mitch McConnell whose stated goal was simply to obstruct Obama no matter what he tried. ( so much for bipartianship.) 5. He has ignored the fact that the first stimulus was by George W. and blamed Obama. 6. The recession started under George W. and Obama has faced many unnecessary obstructions. He is neither ethical nor competent which his record proves.

I agree. The Quebecois make demnds and then threaten to leave Canada unless the Fed's bribe them. They are a petulant bunch that will never be satisfied until Canada asks them to leave and they see reality when they lose the billions currently given to prevent them from leaving.

No, the issue is whether the rule of law should apply to natives as well as whites. Pursuimng a land claim does not entitle the natives (or welfare bandits as they really are) to ignore the criminal law and heap much physical and other abuse on whites and not be accountable. I am appalled that the Ontario government allowed it to happen.

You may or may/not be correct. However, it seems to me that the maritimes AND Quebec have had 100yr+ to create their economy

Alberta is sustaining our standard of living and Canada would be in a depresion if not for Alberta. Having said that - I have felt that Alberta would be better off if it left Canada.

I am surprised that you consider me a hazard becuz I feel that some of our population prefer to coast on the dole rather than be self-sufficient
