  1. You are right about the tri-lateral agreement, but it is nothing like a union (managment and workers). Think more along the lines of the Cold War. We agree not to shoot each other in the foot, and we all prosper. The whole Amero thing ranks right up there with Area 51 (bring on the tin foil hats.....)
  2. Uhmm...I know you're 16 and you are doing admirably well on this board so far, but you have no idea whatsoever of what you're talking about in this post. Please research what "NAFTA" stands for and try to draw a line between it and unions. Thanks,
  3. Don't misunderstand me. The Cons are just as big of meatheads as Happy Jack's Club Members. Difference is, they have the ability to represent some of the country (a portion that actually matters). The NDP throws a party when they think "Oh my (or our) non-denominational, possibly omnipotent (unless that's offensive), multicolored being that has nothing to do with creationism.....we might actually get through this election with close to 18% of the 60% who decided to vote!"
  4. This is Canada. There is Left (Cons), Really Left (Libs), and Looney Tunes Left (NDP). Doesn't matter that public health care is a disaster of a proposition, or the Canadian Bill of Rights would have existed anyway in one form or another. Dippers will always claim that "this" wouldn't exist, and "that" was brought in under pressure of a party that has no application in these years.
  5. Continue the way we always have...Liberal>Conservative>Liberal>Conservative>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The NDP is completely and utterly irrelevant. The two (main) party system works in the US and it (kind of) works in Canada. When was the last time we had more than two contenders to lead the country? Personally, I would like to see Taliban Jack get around 25% of the vote. You know he won't steal it from the right...
  6. If the RGC is receiving $1Mil for renovations to a private facility, I have a problem with this. On the other hand, would the Legion be considered private? I know that I can go there for a beer anytime I want, so I think the debate would be whether or not federal tax money is being spent on places that the public does not have access to. That is not right, in my opinion. If they're going to spend my taxmoney, it had better be on public "works". Unless of course, they would like to do some major renovations to my house and property. They're "shovel ready" too you know. For the record, Mayor Idiot Mandel and his little band of ex-busdrivers has continued a legacy of stupidity in Edmonton. They will gladly pave over Churchill Square (got to get rid of all of that annoying grass and trees!) to the tune of, what was it? 17 million? No, wait, the $17 mil was for the new museum. That was when they were bitching that there was no money for food banks and homeless families. Morons.
  7. Prisoners should be paying for their accomodation and meals, not the other way around.
  8. It's not a win-win. It's a win-lose in favor of the idiot Harper. He gave Iggy a way to back out of his grandstanding without going to election. The Liberals were hoping that Steve would back down and cower, but instead he did nothing. The "stimulus review" was already planned, and the EI "panel" means the square root of f**k all. Iggy got lucky that Harper didn't decide to call his bullshit bluff.
  9. How about Turkey? That should do it.
  10. It can only be grandstanding now on the part of the Liberals. Happy Jack (for good, bad or other reasons) has already said he will vote against the government on a confidence motion so that has effectively taken the wind out of Iggy's "the NDP are to blame for the election call" stance. If the Lib's vote against the government, we go to an election, and that is the last thing they can afford (politically or financially) right now. Iggy has two choices: Openly state that he will not force an election, or continue with all the bluster and then instruct "just enough" of his MP's to "accidentally be somewhere else" during the vote allowing for a slim majority on the confidence motion. Either way he looks weak to both Con and Lib supporters. It's no win for him. It has nothing to do with Harper crossing a line or not; he can simply stand his ground and let Iggy decide whether or not to go to the polls. As long as he's public about his decision, he won't wear the negativity for the call. First man to the tv cameras wins. Of course, there's always the Bloc. Who knows what the hell they'll do.
  11. The goal is incarceration...also know as punishment...also known as consequences. Keep a criminal inside for his entire term, goal achieved. Maybe not, but three rights make a left...
  12. Absolutely.
  13. As long as it's optional.
  14. What the hell was so ignorant about it? You cheerlead for the CBC, which is paid from the tax dollars you DON"T pay. What conclusions did he jump to?
  15. Ya Borg! How dare the Tories spend so much on that fountain in Shawinigan! Damn fools!
  16. Funny how if a position favors your view, it's based on logic. If it opposes your view, it's based on "feelings". Interesting indeed.
  17. So you're in favor of Canadians paying poor countries not to immigrate to Canada?
  18. That's okay. The machines are one thing, but what we really need are soldiers with lots of experience running over people (especially students). Those Chinese tank commanders would be, what, 40 or so by now?
  19. So you're saying the tanks have low hours? Excellent.
  20. Then that should be taken from them as well.
  21. Bah. The Conservatives support in western Canada can be summed up neatly in one statement. They're not Liberals.
  22. Never asked you to. I simply said that I can't find credible numbers. If you can, feel free to post them.
  23. ...which you have to be able to afford (either the cost of the activity, the cost of being away from work, or both).
  24. Let me fix that for you.. Killers don't deserve freedom, and least of all any kind of hope. Their lives are forfeit.
  25. I have, and can't find credible numbers to support either.
