The kid is Korean? Now, that almost makes it funny. He was offended by a kid saying a dirty word in a language that isn't even his! Just who is the racist here? How much more ridiculous is this story going to get? (Actually, I'd like to know the Chinese word for f*ck too. Just curious.)
-
According to the Chinese kid that was interviewed on Chorus radio, that was what caused all of this. But what would he know; he was just there.
-
The real point of this story is that there was no racism involved, but people are trying to make a capital case out of it. Kids will find whatever they can to egg on other kids. It may not be right, but it's damn true. The white kid said "f*ck" in Chinese. That's it. From there, both kids followed the path that others have taken for thousands of years. They had a scuffle. If the school rules say they are to be suspended, then suspend them. If one or the other is found by school officials to be the instigator and the school has expulsion rules for that person, then expel him. If someone picks a fight with me, should I run to the news and say "my great grandfather was German, so this was racially motivated!"??? What a load of shit.

Evolution classes optional under proposed Alberta law

Do any of these have a place in school? Don't know, don't care. Reading, writing, arithmetic, science, social studies. The rest should be optional...like art class. Or french. -

Thank God. Neither of my kids are lazy enough or stupid enough to qualify as teachers. No doubt they'll get jobs where they actually earn a living. -

Got news for you, sport...parents already have that choice. As for your "sign", try reading a school charter once in a while. Pretty much everything you want to expouse is already written. Another genius. -

Read the post again. I never said that. What I did was equate how various people will use the same shakey logic to prove just about anything. Gays irk me. That's it. Pedophiles deserve lead poisoning delivered through a long, metal tube. Does that sound "equal"? -
...and so are the days left until the Earth explodes. I'm not going to lose sleep over either. Every leader in history has been plagued by rumors of their untimely demise. The proof always surfaces at election time.

And a certain (sicko) segment of the population would use the same argument to support pedophilia. Still doesn't make it right to teach to children. -
Wow. That was SO packed with proof, it nearly made me cry. Here's a newsflash...Iggy needs to buy and use some conditioner. Gasp!!!

It's only wrong in your opinion. Don't tell me you're trying to "force" your beliefs on others? Say it ain't so..... -
The fact is, the Asian kid hit the non-Asian kid and got caught. Assault. Screw the racial "problem" bullshit. If the non-Asian kid had done the same, all the Asian special interest groups would be calling it a race-based assualt. It was two kids fighting. Suspend them both. Charge them both. I couldn't care less except non-Canadian (white, whatever) "groups" are all of a sudden up in arms over a poke in the nose/mouth. Give it a rest already.

There. That should fix it up for you. I beg you. Please speak English. Your posts are becoming painful. I suggest you PM mikedavid00. He should be happy to give you an English primer.

Give me a minute. I'll go back and change my answer.

Evolution classes optional under proposed Alberta law

What's the big frickin deal? Catholic schools in Alberta teach evolution, but you have the right to pull your kids if you don't like the subject matter. Always have. The bill is simply a legal instruction to teachers that they're not allowed to fail a kid on a "gay" test or one on "evolution". Parents have (and should always keep) the right to decide what their kids learn. -
I listened to the interview on Chorus radio today with the kid that was charged. He overheard the other kid say the f-word in Chinese, and since the aggressor is "the only Asian kid in the school", it offended him. A pushing match ensued. The other kid punched the Asian kid and cut his lip. The Asian kid (who is a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do) punched back and broke the other kid's nose. Schoolyard fight (although it happened in the gym during gym class) and that's all. This is about as racist an act as I am a Liberal. Charged with assault? Why not. The act he committed WAS assault. But racial motivation had bugger all to do with it. Electric chair for the little bastard. Fry him for being a racist. Damn Asians.

First, parents should retain the right to raise their kids. The NDP doesn't run the country yet. Being aware of homosexuality is one thing. Being taught that it's okay is another. Only the dangerous breeds need to be licensed. The velociraptor, tyrannosaurus and spineless-backed liberal should be licensed. The rest are okay with just a muzzle on walks. -
Nailed it. Good job sharkman.

I think the evolution thing is wishy washy at best. As for the homosexual thing, my kids can learn what is "appropriate" from my wife and I. The last thing they need is some gay-loving liberal teacher telling them that this is natural behavior. The bill says parents have the right, not that they have to pull their kids. -
Ummm....where is the large number in Alberta? The Liberals only stand a chance in two ridings (both in Edmonton). Landslide Annie's old home, and David Kilgour's immigrant-rich Millwoods riding. Both are now Conservative. CTV Harris Decima Where is the large number in the West? Not seeing it.

I have to comment on this one. My wife is a nurse in an Emergency Unit and I've asked her about this kind of thing on numerous occasions. First, let me say this: bjre - learn to speak English. If you're going to type a comment, it would be nice if the rest of us could at least understand it. Now....they haven't exactly given the details for this specific case, but... (My comments only apply to Alberta. I'm not familiar with other jurisdictions.) When you show up to emerg, you are required to enter the building on your own/with the help of whoever drove you there. If you are unable to make it inside, the staff MUST call paramedics to transport you inside. Doctors and nurses working inside emergency are not always equipped to stabilize and transport someone who may or may not have spinal injury/neck injury/etc. That's what EMS does....emergency medical services. That being said, if the situation is critical and they are TOLD that it is likely critical, there is absolutely no law or regulation preventing staff from doing what they have to wherever they have to. Part of medical training for all doctors and nurses is the doctrine of LIFE OVER LIMB. It means that there can be no prosecution in any respect (with the exception of gross negligence) for any negative effect from providing life-saving medical care. Ie. EMS drags you out of a burning car to safe you from burning to death, and you end up paralyzed from the neck down because they didn't have enough time to immobilize you on a back-board before the car burns up. There would be no remedy through the courts for you to sue the EMS workers. Now if you collapse, but are conscious outside an emergency room (on the road or sidewalk), the nurses/doctors can come out to ensure you are not in a life-threatening situation but cannot move you inside the hospital unless you are. EMS would arrive, immobilize you (if necessary) and once inside the hospital you would be cared for.

I'll take a Black Angus ribeye over just about anything else on Earth. Beer is good. Mmmmmm. Beer.
