73% of New Canadians fear for their children lives around water
Hydraboss replied to RB's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The government installing laws regarding the mandatory use of car seats is a far cry from the government supplying car seats. If you wish to make this equation, then you would have to change that to "government subsidies for car seats for new Canadians". -
Again with the "socialist"??? I don't always (read: rarely) agree with Toad, but he is far from a socialist. Please cite or link to quotes where he made socialist comments. Not left-of-center or right-of-center, socialist. Time to put your money where your ever-bullshitting mouth is.

Tories scrapping long form census
Hydraboss replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Please supply a cite or a link to ANY case where police are involved with the census. I've never, ever heard of cops enforcing the "mandatory" census. Ever. -
Mr. Canada - three points: 1) You are correct that there are far too many rapists/murderers and their ilk that receive minor or no sentences. Take for instance the "new Canadian" mother that brought her daughter to Canada for a better life, got mad, and strangled her to death with a scarf. Sentence yesterday.....three years probation because "time in jail would only serve vengence". 2) You are full of shit. "Spent 5+ years in prison", "watched gay intercourse in public", etc, etc. Are you actually under the impression that anyone believes you? If so, you are deluded. 3) Why must you insist on sounding like a goddamn moron on this board? Calling everyone that disagrees with you a "socialist" reinforces the common belief that you are mentally retarded (not completely, just partially). I, and others like me, are "the right wing" in this country. Posters like you are the ones who give fodder to the "other side" for their comments that we are extremists, mentally deficient, have small dicks, and like barn animals. Please stop typing what you're thinking. Just stop. Go somewhere quiet and try to read your favorite book "See Spot Dick Jane" or something. If you don't like what I write, please complain to the board admin. I will abide by their judgement if necessary.

Tories scrapping long form census
Hydraboss replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They "lost" my info three times in two years, so tell me if you think I should be concerned. The last time they came to my house with their little clipboards (to follow up because I throw the form in the shredder), the little half-wit tried to use the "it's a federal offence to refuse" BS to which I answered "feel free to charge me". They never came last year. Any organization that can lose information of that nature doesn't deserve to receive it in the first place. I will never fill one out again. -
73% of New Canadians fear for their children lives around water
Hydraboss replied to RB's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This IS a joke, right? You want Canadian taxpayers to have their tax dollars (you know, the money they EARNED) to help pay for immigrants to learn to swim???? Have I summarized you correctly? Is there anything else you think we should pay for? Maybe dance lessons? How about bungie jumping? Darts? Water polo (oh wait, they might drown...scrap this one)? Is there any limit to what you feel we should be responsible for? -
Now that shit is funny. I just sent it around our corporate office (major oilfield services company). Should get some interesting replies from the VP's.

Ignatieff's magnificent summer tour...
Hydraboss replied to capricorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
"Please God, let the Liberals appoint Justin as leader. I don't ask for much but this is something I REALLY want (more than that bike I asked for last year). The Conservatives need to get every single seat in the West and some more in Ontario, and this would be the easiest way for that to happen. p.s. - would you mind putting another boil on Jack's ass if you get a minute? Thanks...err...amen." -
It's a matter of scale. 50,000 liters of oil in the Atlantic would be minor...50,000 liters of oil in your mom's kitchen is another thing altogether. If you look at the physical size of the area affected, this is a major incident.

And I doubt Tony Hayward was on the brake handle of the Deepwater Horizon. Doesn't matter, this is Paul's mess and the timing couldn't be better.

Whiny Toronto Wants More Money
Hydraboss replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
August, even though I'm a "shrub" from Alberta and am revolted at the thought of paying cash to anything going east, how can you blame this on Toronto (god, that hurt to say)? Harper is the overspending, Trudeau-ish moron that spent the cash on this abomination and he should be held accountable for this bullshit. It's not the responsibility of one city to cover for a federal government's screw-up. We all pay the price for our Prime Minister and his Happy Band of Retards in Ottawa. -
We all know how Mr Chretien was best friends of china
Hydraboss replied to PIK's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So does that apply to all immigrants and countries that are culturally backward, or are you just singling out China? Does that make you a racist? How about a xenophobe? Is it the same for Pakistan and India, or just those YOU don't like? Are you a bigot, Eyeball? -
Well, Norm, since you're so good at math could you please figure out the following... What would the CPC/Liberal numbers be if you didn't include the greater Toronto area (since they only deliver 22 or 23 seats to the Liberals)? What about if you didn't include Ontario as it only gave the Liberals 38 seats or maybe Kwebek because it only delivered 14? Lets see...2008 election the Libs only got 77 seats; minus the 52 from Ontario and Kwebek and that gives them 15 seats of a possible 256 = 5.86% of seats. If we calculate the same thing for the CPC, we get the 143 they got in 2008. Deduct the 61 they received from Ontario and Kwebek, and they're left with (143-61=82) 82 seats elected out of 256 available = 32.03% of seats. There. Fixed that for ya.You're right Norm, it IS fun to play with numbers until they say something you like...

Alberta Fails To Update Wait Time Data
Hydraboss replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Which it does. In a very expensive, taxpayer-funded way. The left-wing PC's in this province are to cowardly to do anything that might actually improve the health care system. Don't expect much from Special Ed and his Merry Band of Morons. -
Feds Want to Tighten Citizenship Requirements
Hydraboss replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But then what's next? Are you going to require that they able to drive a car before getting a license? Will they have to prove that they will be anything but a drain on welfare and medicare? If you're going that far, you might as well insist that they not practice Sharia Law, cover their faces or sacrifice live goats in their front yards. Methinks you ask too much. -
Feds Want to Tighten Citizenship Requirements
Hydraboss replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Agreed, but I have lost any faith that the CPC would move any farther ahead even if they didn't have the Liberal scapegoat available. They look more and more like the Mulroney Tories every day. -
The Liberal Party Must Be Destroyed
Hydraboss replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maybe, but if I were to guess at the true impetus behind the merger talk, I would "follow the money"....right to Bob Rae. Who stands to gain more than the sort of-NDP, sort of-Liberal that can "save everyone and mend fences"? If I were Bob, I'd push for it. None of the other "leadership candidates" (including Iggy) would stand a chance of uniting the left. -
Feds Want to Tighten Citizenship Requirements
Hydraboss replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Wonderful, but what will it accomplish? As long as Canada allows immigration via family reunitement beyond immediate members (grandparents, cousins, etc), the crooks will simply go that route. Have the super-clean brother jump through the hoops, and then apply through the family-thing and skip the 3 out of 4 year requirement. I'll give them credit; they're trying. Just not going far enough to protect Canadian interests. He was right when he said Canadian passports are valuable...they're easy to get and you don't have to actually give up your current citizenship to get one (you can live where you want and scream at the Canadian government when all hell breaks loose and you need an airlift out of the shithole you live in). -
Mosque going up in NYC building
Hydraboss replied to a topic in Federal Politics in the United States
World Trade Center You mean the OTHER muslims that attacked America? You mean THOSE murderous muslims? -
Well, the ONLY assumption that makes sense here is that you are gay. No one else viewing/responding to my posts has continually picked out what they perceive to be "feminization" in the statements. You have nothing else to offer in response other than "why are you so hard on queers?", so either respond or shut up. You seem to take it very personally when someone refers to "knitting", so I can only draw the conclusion that A ) you are gay, and B ) you knit and feel it somehow marks you as gay. Please correct me if this is wrong.
-
Are you daft? Feminizing? Are you refering to the "knitting" reference? Ever heard of "mind your knitting"?

So, Alta is your target of choice even though he would rather Alberta stay in Confederation? Tell you what skippy, if others won't "articulate as harsh a position", then I will. You want to hang an Albertan? Come and get it. I'll be sitting at the border with a little gift for you. And so would thousands of "secessionists". Don't ever question MY patriotism to ALBERTA. I'd die to defend it, and I'd kill to defend it. Is THAT "harsh" enough a position for you? Want to call my bluff? Try it and find out. Who exactly do you think is going to storm Alberta and "put down the rebel scum"??? The military? We've got one. The RCMP? Not fucking likely. You? Ha! With what, your registered long gun? Alberta DOES have the right to seek secession, and I for one seriously hope we go after it. Working in a broken confederation with a bunch of "entitled to my entitlements" types makes me physically sick. Join with Montana? You read my mind pinhead. At least the US would respect the State of Alberta. Look at Texas, Louisiana, and other oil/gas producing states. Think the feds walk in there and take what they want? If so, you better brush up on your US politics. So why don't you shut your fricken yap about things you know nothing about. Stick to knitting or lattes.

Oh come now! I'd insult the Queen of England is she stopped by. Just returning stereotypical insults. Minor affair. Give me a break. I CAN'T make complete sense when I'm answering "GHG Rainman". It would confuse him. The guy has probably never left Mom and Dad's basement, so how can anyone hope to counter his "arguments" with anything coherent?
-
Yup. Yer dead on the money Cletus. Only we have geetars now instead of banjos (two more strings you know!) First - No one ever says "oil, oil, oil" and "money, money, money". They're the same thing. We just use the "money" one. Guess what; everything IS about money. The world revolves around it. Your fake little GHG bullshit revolves around it. Your beloved social programs and "hug-a-thug" system relies on it. The ability of you, and people like you, to only work when it's convenient requires it. Where does it come from? Alberta and Ontario (just not this year) with a little from BC and Sask. Second - It must be fun for you to sit in your little coffee house in whatever metropolis you live in, drinking half-caff lattes and deciding which insults you can try to come up with for Alberta. Just so you know, no one here actually gives a rat's ass about you (or what I assume is your boyfriend?). You wouldn't cut it trying to become an Albertan, so you keep your distance and wisely so. Third - Nobody actually still looks under their beds for Trudeau. He's dead. We all know it. We all celebrated it. A bunch of us were going to send "get well" cards to his house but couldn't find the mailing address. Glad he's dead. 'Bout time.

Would the Libs and NDP really join?
Hydraboss replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And what would it take to finally realize that there ARE only two parties in Canada? Perhaps the NDP, Greens, etc, etc should finally wake up and denounce their party status and officially become what they really are: Lobby groups. Same with the Bloc. They might actually have some influence if they did that, and the rest of us can watch the only two real parties evenly split the airwaves come election time.
