Now that's funny. I don't care who you are. Although to be clear, the conservatives will likely take their cars....

Layton found nude in massage parlour!
Hydraboss replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Would it then be just as legitimate to question if there would be sway to John Layton's parlimentary decisions (should he become PM) concerning human smuggling, prostitution, and organized crime? Would that be acceptable based on your assertions? Is this a goose and gander stance? -
Done.

Simple. Keep the chatter out. How many seats will the NDP end up with after the election? I say 67. Punked? 67 Hydra 82 Bonam 65 Canadien 68 Shady 72 Bloodyminded 100 Punked 74 blueblood 66 Posc Student 75 Smallc (was 100) 58 Mr Canada 42 Capricorn 101 Battletoads 65-70 Moonbox (we'll call it 65 ya waffler) 308 Cybercoma 81 TTM 130 Nittany (was 131) 107 WWWTT 31 Scribblet 57 Derek L 95 Kimmy 136 Rick 72 Molly 77 Dave_ON 65 Bryan 96 Shakeyhands 78 Molly 100-110 amorris1123 (100 it is...another waffler) 108 August 83 BC_chick 70 Sandy MacNab Cyber - I think you should have gone with 309 (cause there might be bonus seats) No Derek, the one who guesses closest gets to take mikedavid to "immigrant sensitivity training" every Friday night for six months. Lucky bastard. Sorry, the "his and hers" jet skis are just "hers" now. Stockwell took the other one.

No it isn't. The dips will gain big in Kwebek (which is awesome) and will supplant the libs (which again is awesome), but that's about it. They will likely pick up a few across the country, but there will be no "mindblowing" seat gains outside "la whiny province". So, Punked, just for fun...post the number of seats you think you guys will get tomorrow. And then I'll post mine. Actually, I'll start a thread.
-
Punked, the newest poll shows it's a statistical tie on federal percentage. Take a closer look at regionals.
-
Layton will not be elected to power. Period. Your little propaganda routine is beyond stupid.
-
Go back to the sandbox and play with Mr C. This crap is eating up bandwidth. Post something worth discussing or return to the pit where you, Harry (Maplesyrup) and Mr Canada were spawned.
-
I don't disagree that Kinsella is probably not that far off (except for the NDP seat count is too high). It just seems shocking that he would put the Libs at 55. Usually the super-neo-partisan-freaks would rather overstate their party's chances and then make up some crap to explain why it never came to be.
-
You got nothing. Link broken, but thanks for at least trying.

Anyone actually have a poll result to post or are we just going to discuss what a scumbag Douglas was? My boss landed in Toronto yesterday and emailed me a picture from the Toronto Sun. This is weird - pundits call on seats tomorrow: Lorrie Goldstein CPC 145 Lib 40 NDP 95 Bloc 28 Mark Bonokoski CPC 156 Lib 59 NDP 66 Bloc 25 Oth 2 Monte Solberg CPC 149 Lib 65 NDP 56 Bloc 38 Warren Kinsella CPC 130 Lib 55 NDP 93 Bloc 29 Green 1 Threehundred CPC 144 Lib 65 NDP 59 Bloc 40 Kinsella really shocks me. Can you say throwing in the towel?

Wow. He pulled her arm down to get his face on tv. Or maybe to see the tv. Garbage. (and I think John's an idiot).
-
Uhm, considering the NDP were apparently running a 5% gap behind the CPC, how does a 6 point spread equate to "narrowing"? If the gap widens to 20% today, and then late tonight it shrinks to 15%, will you be claiming that the NDP "narrowed" the gap again Maplesyrup?
-
Correct. I do not, however, claim to represent the "healthcare" views of the CPC. I represented my own views of how the system is dysfunctional.
-
Bubber, I know you posted supporting info (you were the only one) and I know I snipped it for effect. The point of my post was to show how in this thread (re: the NDP constitution) there is a huge push to just believe what I say cause it's true. When conservatives try to use that tactic because people use the same wide brush to paint the whole party, it doesn't hold water (ie: the moron in Sask that made the crack about pulling funding for abortion - suddenly the CPC absolutely will reenter the abortion debate and strip women of the right). You obviously don't see the connection. I could give two shits whether or not I see the NDP constitution, but I think it should be out on the table for those non-NDP supporters that are about to vote for them. If there is a "socialist caucus" in the party, then I guess when they publish that they represent 20% and the official NDP website doesn't contradict it, then they represent 20% of the party. As far as I'm concerned, until the NDP state in bold letters what they stand for, they stand for whatever people say they do. "Trust me, I know..."
-
So, just so we're perfectly clear here...if anyone who supports the NDP says "that's the way it is" then we are to stop questioning and just accept their statements as fact. If someone who supports the Conservatives tries the same tactics when allegations of candidates/MPs being "bible thumpers" or "against women's rights" or "support taking away abortion rights" or "all being creationists" or "going to throw everyone who smokes a joint in jail for two years" or "have ulterior motives to utterly destroy other parties" or whatever....even if it's completely without basis....THAT is to be taken as gospel because of some anecdotal "evidence". The existence of metrics or documented proof only counts if you're right wing and trying to defend yourself. If you're left wing, then everyone MUST take them at their word. Especially when "only 1%" of a party believes in something....it's okay to accuse the entire Conservative party of following the beliefs, just don't try it with the NDP.

Realistically, how big a majority could Layton get?

Thanks. I was having a not bad evening till you screwed it up. -

Jesus Harry. You really are nothing but a spam-bot, are you? For christ sake, give this shit a rest already. This thread is a joke, your posting of NDP-blogger polls are meaningless, and you're just really fucking annoying. Either start having real conversations where you actually add something of value (doesn't matter if people like it or not) or shut the fuck up. I can hardly wait until this election is over so you rabble idiots go away (until the next election). -
It should be that way, but it's not. It's really fast care for those that can afford it or know the right people, and it's roll-the-dice for everyone else. It won't be "fixed" because the people that can fix it already fit into the first group. Like Layton.
-
You've nailed it. It happens all the damn time. If you're "one of the patient masses" that believes we should all wait politely in line, you'll either get better or you'll die. There isn't a nurse in the world who's kids wait in emergency waiting rooms for very long. My kids have never waited longer that about 10 minutes. Medical staff take care of medical staff they work with. Doctors take care of nurses faster than anyone other than their own families. People still want to believe that in Canada, everyone is equal and we have this one-tier medical system. What bullshit. They are naive.
-
I'm not pretending shit. I've lived it for the last 14 months. Initial emergency surgery is a no-brainer, but all the expensive follow-up is metered out as the medical department sees fit. I had to bring an intensivist over from another hospital (friend of my wife's) to get certain tests and procedures done. Did you know that if someone were to attain a patient id number and accidentally send it to another medical professional in another hospital in Alberta, there would be the ability to have department heads in other facilities review the case asap (unofficially of course) instead of the attending doctors having to wait a month or two for a consult? Apparently it would also allow a surgical specialist to look at an entire case file, surgical notes and test imaging. So I've heard. If my wife had waited for the first consult, she would have died in the process. Wonder how many of "the poor" can say the same thing?
-
Well, let me tell you this. If I hadn't done what I did, she'd be dead. The doctors told me in very clear words. I will NEVER trust a loved one's life to "the system" and "fairness". Ask a nurse that does what my wife does...people who do nothing but trust "the system" gather around a bed right before they turn everything off. Constantly.
-
Got a news flash for you...I'm definitely not "poor" and when my wife nearly died last year, I would have walked over the bodies of "the poor" to get her in as soon as I could. And I did. She's a nurse and I pulled every string in book and called in favors that have taken me years to earn. She jumped so far over the queue that the poor bastards waiting in line couldn't even see her. We jumped every line for surgery. Every line for imaging and tests. Every line for surgical rounds and specialists. I don't fucking care about "the poor" or anyone else when it's my family at risk. If you disagree, you've never had anyone you love in that condition.
