Voter intelligence is being insulted again
Hydraboss replied to WWWTT's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Don't sell yourself short. -
I've got a link right now that works, but I just shut it down. Weird, but it feels like opening your gifts on Dec 23. Huh.

Screw that. I'm gonna start alluding to results at 7:59 MST. Damn coppers will have to catch me...

Oh. I thought he was your evil twin.

Don't be so quick. I'm seriously considering voting NDP in my Alberta riding. Won't make a difference, but if the Liberal vote falls apart and goes to the NDP, it might actually be enough to send a small message to that pompus ass of an MP (James Rajotte) that he should try and remember who put him there. 2008 GE CPC 33174 LPC 9234 NDP 5994 GRN 4081 Even if the entire opposition went together, it would still be in the neighborhood of 33173 to 19310. Wouldn't change the result, but the message might be a little clearer for that dense piece of driftwood to understand. Ideally, it would end 26242 CPC to 26241 NDP.

NDP Spokeperson throws an empty promise

Addler's on SunTV? Awesome. That guy makes all too much sense to be on the Canadian MSM. -
Green Party members no doubt. Heard the stations were "moved" to the forest.

Two words: Wood paneling. Ya baby.

Uhm, ever hear of sarcasm? Okay. Thanks. I never could remember which party had that in their platform. You saved me some a-looking. But what if I'm not smart enough to realize it quickly? Would slowly do?

Final Seat Predictions Contest
Hydraboss replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think the CPC will make the gains necessary for a slim majority (and I mean slim). I think the NDP "surge" will be felt in Kwebek and then sporadically after that. I think the Bloc will hurt a lot. I think the Liberals will fall back to safe ridings (and they still have more than the NDP ever did). I think May will finally win a seat. At least this time it's her own. Whatever else happens in this election, I think all the "surging" and "diving" will cause voters to solidify around their choice of party. What I mean to say is, I think there will be less strategic voting and more voting for the party ideals that people actually believe in. The NDP have done something that has never been done before - made people realize that maybe, just maybe, Cinderella stories exist. Of course, I AM NOT REFERRING TO JOHN LAYTON AS CINDERELLA. The wording was chosen for effect only and does not and should not be construed as implying Mr. Layton is in any way, shape or form similar to or reminiscent of, Cinderella (copyright Disney Corporation). -
Final Seat Predictions Contest

CPC 157 NDP 67 Lib 56 Bloc 27 Green 1 Still holding out that the death of Osama Bin Hiding may give a small bump to a couple of teeter-totter ridings. -
Make sure your NDP seat predictions match what you put in Nittany's Election Seats thread.

Layton found nude in massage parlour!

Or more importantly, no one outside of hyper-partisans really care if he got his rub&tug. Obviously, Olivia was okay with it (to all outside indications). If this is what happened, whatever. If he was supposed to be "pro women's issues" guy and paid for the geisha treatment, then that may not have been smart, but people should let it go. Any damage that this "issue" could do has been done. It's election day. If John's actions had the potential to sway voters, consider them swayed as far as possible. Mission is over. -
Correct Topaz. They are nothing like the Mulroney Tories. So now that you've said it, you can quit harping about how the country will go down the same path Brian-Baby took us down so long ago. Thanks for the admission.

What I'm hoping will not happen... In the 2008 GE, voter turnout was 58.8%, and while we on this board are getting all excited about tonight (I'm buying beer and popcorn) there is still the chance that we may wake up tomorrow and find out that only 59% of people cared enough to vote. Even though that would definitely benefit the CPC, I have to say I would still be disappointed if it happens. To think that there's actually a chance that youth take time away from texting to mark an x would be nice. And for a bunch of whiny bastards that sit on a couch watching "Hoarders" to get off their collective asses and vote for someone (anyone!). PEOPLE OF CANADA! PUT DOWN YOUR HOAGIES! CAST OFF YOUR BATHROBES AND VOTE! I really, really hope that Canadians get out today or these polls won't mean a damn thing.

Okay, I was gonna stay out of this one...but not anymore. How would these "tools of destruction" have helped in Rwanda? In a million different ways. Let me tell you something sparky, the Canadian Armed Forces will go anywhere, anytime and kick the shit out of anybody. But they can't unless the government of the day gives them the go-ahead. In Rwanda, the government, not the military, chose to turn their collective heads and ignore the issue altogether. Give some of those flyboys a couple of F-35s and you'll see ass kicking on an epic scale. Got high speed response, armored tactical vehicles? Great. Let the forces put them on the ground over there and all those little bastards doing the raping and killing would soon be hamburger. But, no, the government of the day chose not to. You actually think the UN gives two shits about Canada? Turn our back on them? Whatever. The UN is about as useless as a bladeless knife without a handle. They won't come "crawlin back to us" because they barely know we exist unless they happen to be publishing a list of "worst places for immigrants" or some other bullshit. Want atrocities to end? Quit tying the hands of the guys who can prevent them. The Canadian and US Armed Forces. -
[quote name='punked' date='01 May 2011 - 09:32 PM' timestamp='1304307168' post='666389' Just by the way our system works when the government changes you get a majority of the caucus is new. Okay but we're not just talking "new". We're talking about a group of people that accepted the nomination as a prank. They (and everybody else) never imagined they would even register when it came to results, never mind win a seat. Some of your people are doing bong hits at parties or keg stands on vacation while the votes are cast.

I am going to vote Liberal today

Trudeau was barely worthy of a bullet. His name will always be "remembered" around here. He was a bastard, and deserved a much earlier death than he got. -
