  1. I find it so appropriately coincidental that the rejection of Iran embassy's "request" was promptly followed by threat of violence. So, if we receive threats that polling stations will be bombed if we hold our election....we cancel our election out of concern for public safety? That's your opinion. But are you one of those who must think terrorists have their own legitimate gripe against the bad, bad West....that therefore we deserve what we get? As I understand we have a policy not to pay for ransom in kidnap situations....and I assume you understand the logic behind that? IF JAMES MOORE did not reverse the decision....do you think that will be the end of demands we'll ever get from Iran...or any other dictatorial countries? Doesn't it even bother you that this embassy attempted to impose their censorship in our own country? From what I gathered from a newscast yesterday....somebody already sent letters to Tehran. Let's wait and see what happens next.
  2. It's bad enough for a radio station to back down to just a single complaint from a listener who probably forgot to take his med....but for a federal establishment to wimp out and take orders from Tehran is really shocking! Indeed, what's happening to Canada? With just a threat of a violent protest, the jelly-kneed unceremoniously backed down and meekly obeyed! I'd hate to think how it will be if ever foreign enemies come knocking at the gates or above.....what, will we unceremoniously raise the white flag?? UNBELIEVABLE! Who knows how many more of these same-minded, spineless individuals are head of other federal/government establishment. Although the decision was reversed by an angry James Moore, the damage to our image has been done. Federal employees meekly bowed down and followed the dictate of Tehran, and displayed cowardice. Whoever made that decision should step down! And we should kick the Iran embassy out of Canada to send a clear statement that we do not take to intimidation so lightly! I applaude James Moore.
  3. Thank you for providing us a political forum which I find one of, if not the finest there is, online. You've done so well, Greg and company. God bless and wishing you guys all the best.
  4. Why do they even need to spend money to advertise at all? All they have to do is just ignore all religions. To fund-raise and to advertise as a collective group clearly indicate that an atheist is now no longer just a description of someone who don't believe in the existence of God.....but clearlyt is a group believing in the non-existence of God. It is another "religion."
  5. It is the "judgement call" on which rights trump others that I am talking about here. From what I observe, the capability for extreme aggression by radical Islam is prompting that "judgement call" by the liberal society to have Islam trump the rights of others.
  6. And I am not a Catholic too.
  7. How about a strong protest? The same kind of protests against the Pope....George Bush....Harper.. Even when the Canadian journalist woman named Kusemi (?) who was tortured and died in Iran, I don't think I've seen hundreds of marchers burning effigies and hurling insults to Iran. Now, there's a woman waiting execution....and so far the only protest I know is the gathering of signatures! Why not make a strong statement? You know Muslim women.....you'd hazard to guess???? And you call that evidence??? Now, that is pure hogwash! Why should your guess be even mentioned in this discussion? On the other hand I've heard from those who should know....like Tareq Fatah, and from muslim women too, who say that there is coercion done on some Muslim women living in the west to adhere to the old ways!
  8. ON OTHERS! But not on those who show aggression and capability of extreme violence! Like the radical Islam! THAT IS my point! Have the liberals who bravely marched everywhere burning effigies and chanting insults to various political figures such as the Pope, George Bush, Harper etc.., burnt an effigy of any prominent radical Muslim such as the Iranian president as an example, in protest for the treatment of women? ESPECIALLY women who have been executed, murdered or about to be executed? Let's face it, when it comes to squaring off with radical Islam, liberal activists and politicians are all walking on eggshells....their protests comes out like a mere sqawk, hardly ever heard.... If this is an example of how the liberals react and "impose" their values in THEIR OWN SOIL....it doesn't require a stretch of imagination what happens if there ever comes a time when an aggressive radical group such as radical Islam becomes too powerful and decides to aggressively impose FULLY its own values and way of life. Which values do you think will be repressed....and die?
  9. That's why I'm saying LIBERALISM is not upholding its own philosophy! You see liberals demonstrating left and right for every cause on the planet...EXCEPT for the gays and the women that need help the most under the thumb of Islam! Liberalism actually offers a false hope for Muslim women who migrated to western societies such as UK thinking things would be different now that they're on western soil.....only to find that a UK-sanctioned Sharia Law is alive and well in England and they're back to square one!
  10. Well, isn't it obvious? Liberalism wouldn't want to impose its own culture/laws/morals/values on any group....which poses a conflict when one particular group is aggressively bringing and imposing its own culture/laws/morals/values that are against the very philosophy of liberalism. As we see it unfolding now, liberalists are bendind backward....appeasing...hoping that these will suffice and calm the radicals. If liberalism cannot uphold its own philosophy...it's kaput!
  11. Apparently, listening to an interview of Melanie Phillips, there is Sharia law in England. In Europe, it's only Denmark and another country that had the balls to tell immigrants that they have to live by their societies' law. Sharia Law almost got accepted by McGuinty in Ontario.
  12. We're talking about liberalism. And the examples I've given above are fact. Can you explain why Sharia law has become acceptable in our Western world, under the noses and compliance of the feminist movement? Is homosexuality acceptable and not punishable by death? Such as? BUT, the liberals would not dare fight for the rights of women and gays in the face of Islam. Even the liberal media are corked when it comes to dealing with Islam. I understand that there must be this fear...who wants to live like Rushdy or Hirsi Ali (with fatwa over their heads) forever in hiding from would-be assasin. What this tells me, Liberalism is only too willing to surrender its tenets/belief when faced with threats of violent aggression. The message this gives is that aggressive intimidation truly works.
  13. You keep saying "it's not true..." and yet you offer no other explanation as to why you think it's not true. Should I assume therefore that you repeat this mantra in order to convince yourself?
  14. How can liberalism continue to survive and flourish when it conflicts with its own philosophy and its own tenet ensures its own demise? Liberalism believes and enforce that every culture and religious belief must be equally tolerated and accepted, and that no moral values/culture be deemed superior and imposed over others. So how can this kind of "equality" be explained under liberalism: Islam religion trumps women's rights and gay rights. And if the recent firing of a black tv journalist simply for expressing his own personal feeling of insecurity everytime he sees a Muslim on board a plane is an example of things to come, then Islam also trumps race. The recent provocative display of contempt and insult on Remembrance Day in London, England when a group of radical Muslims jeered and taunted the people celebrating Remembrance Day by chanting: "Our soldiers are martyrs. May your dead British troops burn in hell...," and and all that time the police were there to ensure the safety of these Muslim radicals from retaliation from the public. This is a brazenly provocative display on a solemn ceremony. Liberalism cannot even impose its own value of equality and tolerance, since by doing so it breaks its own philosophy that no culture/belief should be imposed on others. So when faced with this kind of threat....what's a liberal supposed to do? -
  15. To tell you the truth it crossed my mind they're one and the same. Oh well....
  16. You see what you want to see. Another classic symptom of extremism. I tell ya, you got the bug! Here, to make it easier for you....let me show you the transcript. It all started on Page 12. I responded to one of the posters. Betsy replied: Wily butted in with this on post #177: Betsy replied to Wily on #194, providing the links that backed her statements. She also explained why she mentioned Gore. The other poster and Betsy indulged in small conversation: Betsy responds to Gosthacked on #205 Wily butted in again on post #206 and started the first mispelling of Betsy's name and the tone became deliberately insulting. Waldo joined the fray on #208 Clearly...the first deliberate insult was thrown by Wily. As for the rest of your post here.... .....like most of your previous post....still the same immature, senseless rant. Btw just out of curiousity, which is the clone....you or Wily?
  17. Liar. You deliberately called me other than my name a couple of times before I started calling you Wily. Well actually I like the name Wily better than the mis-spelled wyly. It suits you. "Wyly" can also make others think you just didn't know how to spell. Start a fight my foot. Anyone who goes back to read the flow of this thread can easily see who started it. Who's really being dishonest. Anyway, did you hear me complaining when you started calling me Betty or Bitty or Bitsy? Nah. Bullies like you are all the same. When push comes to shove, you couldn't even take it like a man....assuming you're a man, of course. When given the same dose of medicine....you couldn't hack it. You whine and groan and scream bloody murder. Well kindergarten Wily....boo-hoo-hoo...run along to your mama. Baloney! I was responding to another poster when I mentioned Gore. You deemed it was offensive for me to even mention his name! You challenged my credibility by wilfully ignoring my reason for bringing him up and wilfully mis-interpreting the article...and I called you to it. You couldn't defend your posiition. How can you? It was just a senseless rant, really. So you resort to name-calling. Now you try to play the victim? Now you're even resorting to degrading seniors! Profiling seniors as "knitters," or "square-dancers?" Why do you include the seniors in this discussion? Why do you hold seniors in what seems to be such contempt? What do they have to do with this? Mind you, it's exactly the same way you included Harper....and religion.... SO who's the troll?? Y O U! But then of course, you're just a little boy.
  18. So what if I'm a "denyer." By your tone, you think it is a grievous sin. I feel your wrath....and I quake in my boots. Besides, you make such an ignorant assumption! I admit to climate change....but I don't believe that it is solely man-made. What....is his name taboo? You consider it blasphemous to utter his revered name? Jumped into the fray? Surely you misunderstood. Will you go back and see how it transpired between Wily and me. Do you consider a debate, a fray? Anyway, heated arguments are part of a mature debate....it's immature personal attacks and childish trantrums that are not. Who usually throws the first personal insults and character assasination towards fellow-posters on this thread? From what I see....they come from you....and of course, Wily. Excuse me, but who made himself an easy target? Sheeskabob, another "blame-anyone-but-the-one-responsible" attitude and mentality! As for Harper....I thought I was just correcting Wily when he blurted out his irrational fears for a PM - which I assumed he meant Harper - over his religion. Gee, by your insensible and irrational argument....I say you are a clone to Wily as far as not understanding what you are arguing about. It is weasel-like the way Wily and you seem to distort or translate the flow of events. That, or you got such short attention span! Why do I have to respond??? What's there to respond to? That's her suggestion....her opinion. That's how she envision it. So she say we drag those kicking and screaming into the future...Maybe I agree with her, considering we've already dragged people kicking and screaming in our everyday policies and law, what's so new about that? All you need are powerful lobbyists these days and there ya go....everybody gets dragged kicking and screaming. You got the theophobia too??? You and Wily seem to equate GW/Gore to religion/God. In keeping with your distorted reasoning, I knew I was right....like the extremist religious people that you fear, you are a GW/Gore-worshipping fanatic!
  19. Just for the record, here is a good example of distortion. What Wily...being Wily indeed, by the looks of it....conveniently left out was this: And the date this was written: 2009 My point is, being a leading mover for the GW movement...and him saying we've got only about 10 years to do something about it, my question is.... what took Gore so long in leading as an example? If he really believed that we're faced with a ticking time bomb he'd be scurrying to do everything in his power to show how serious this is! He acted only after he got criticised! So I replied to one of the suggestions by another poster....we cannot rely on everyone to do their share. How can we when one of the leaders for GW (a poster boy at that, at the time) does not provide an example as to how. How do you win and convince those who do not buy into this GW in the first place? Wily does not understand what he's arguing about. And sadly, that is the inconvenient truth!
  20. It's apparently a pattern with Wily. He tries to engage in a mature debate....but he gets rabidly insulting and embarks on personal attacks whenever he couldn't persuade his opponent to his view, or when he couldn't do any sensible rebutt. I just ignore those type and let them do their childish tantrums. At least now I know how he engages.
  21. Sorry, I can't help you with your theophobia. You've got to try and contain it....it distorts your reasoning. Your resentment towards people simply based on their religious belief that obviously does not coincide with yours is a form of bigotry. And your last statement, "it's time to be afraid..." smacks of promoting or inciting hate/fear towards people who believe in religion. As long as the Prime Minister does not break any laws and as long as he follows the Charter of Rights....it shouldn't matter if he believes that homosexual act is a sin against God or that the world is 6,000 years old. He has a right, like you or anybody else, to his belief! I don't have names off-hand.....but there are groiups of scientists who've complained about this quite sometime ago. That's your opinion. But I tell ya....better get that phobia fixed. Obviously I touched a very sensitive nerve with you by bringing up Gore. Gee, by the way you're going, if GW was a religion and Gore is its god....I swear you make a fantastic devoted fanatic! And lo, you seem to be mimicking your hero....you lecture to me about having "no grasp" or understanding, and yet it's you who demonstrate the qualities. You still going on harping about why I brought Gore into this topic....and I've already explained to you why! Aww...give it a rest, Wily. It's you who keeps prolonging what's turning out to be really irrelevant now to this topic. Let's not further derail this topic. If you want to go on and on about Gore, better create a separate thread for it. Don't take the Gore-thingy too personal...I bet he's used to criticisms. He's been a politician after all! End times....again? Heh-heh-heh....just kidding. Bye.
  22. Same way that Harper is being demonized for his religion. Since when is being religious a bad thing? Then the same Harper bashers muzzles scientists that opposes GW. so who does that leave to keep us informed and advise us? David Suzuki? Because it was really politicized along with Environment issue! From GW....they changed it to "Climate Change"...now it's back to GW again. Oh boy, let's not get too carried away with this! FYI I have not even seen that docu by Gore. We're discussing this now because that's what we've been hearing politicians - specifically the NDP, the Green and the Liberals - who just cannot, and won't let go of the environment issue since it's one way to poke at Harper! Let us please give the credits to our fellow-Canadians Elizabeth May, Jack Layton and Michael Ignatieff! At least we agree on that. If only politicians left the sacred temple of science to do its noble work alone....and not use it and drag it down to the dirty path of politics.
  23. Qatar isn't exactly nextdoor, isn't it? If a newspaper such as Al Jazeera is welcomed with open arms....then there shouldn't be any questions raised at all about Fox! At all! Anyway, I'd like the right-wing to have a voice! Let those who don't like it switch to other channels. There are a lot of other choices. After all this is a democratic country....!
  24. He was the poster face of GW. And yes the relation to the thread is still there....what do we do about it? Let me ask you, how can you expect everyone, especially those who never bought into this GW prediction in the first place, to do their serious conscientious share in reversing the damage or stopping any further damage? Why do you think he no longer has any real influence today? Anyway, if you guys really want to see people getting in on the bandwagon.....somebody ought to tell Mr Gore to maintain a very low profile. True, he's become a target....a caricature....there's that good reason why he should voluntarily get back into the background....for the sake of the planet.
  25. Look at the year my article was published. You mean his house is still under renovation after all these years? Still? WHAT'S TAKING HIM SO LONG???? Probably now....AFTER he's been criticized! That's the whole point, isn't it? It's a reflection on how seriously he believes his dire prediction, and saying we only have about 10 years to do something about it! Just see the comparison with Bush several years back. What's Gore's excuse? Talk about the mother of all procastinators. Well Mr. Gore, time is ticking!
