  1. I wonder how the landscape will be 20 years from now. What kinds of problems would we be facing by then? I cringe at the very thought.
  2. Montreal prides itself as a sanctuary. Let them handle all the illegals! Just don't have us non-Montrealers pay for their stupidity.
  3. "Trudeau is giving mixed messages," says one of the news channels. His "welcome mat" is confusing would-be applicants, and causing the mass exodus of refugees to Canada. Haitians fleeing the USA, are under the false impression that everyone is welcome. They don't know that Canada had already started deporting Haitians who were temporary refugees (Earthquake) about 2 years ago. In the meantime, we'll have to house everyone that comes here.........while they go about the long process of applying as refugees. Imagine the monumental cost that comes with that! From board and lodgings, to health care etc.., Can they work while they apply? If not, do they get welfare? More likely, screening and vetting will be lax just so to be able to keep up! The Liberals are really saddling us with future catastrophic problems!
  4. The late Sam Shephard sang most songs from the movie Blackthorn.
  5. Can you believe this bull about Sears?   They're ripping off pensions of employees....and giving bonuses to executive officers - who no doubt had everything to do with Sears' failure!

I hope these employees win in their lawsuit!  Companies like deplorable Sears ought to get knocked down!

Maybe if they had a union this wouldn't be happening to them.

Perhaps, but the union sure wasn't any help when McCain foods pulled out of Edmonton.  Unions don't carry as much productive weight as a lot of people think.

Not sure about Edmonton, but compare what's happening at Sears with the most recent McCains Foods closure...   it's night and day.

      Union vs non-union.

So saying a union doesn't help in these situations is factually wrong.

  6. I've noticed those long fingers recently - and I wondered if he could play the piano!
  7. Yes.
  8. WAS GOD SEEN BY ANY MAN? Does John 1 contradict the Old Testament? John 1 18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. And yet, it's written that some people from the OT had seen God. Genesis 18:1, Exodus 3:2, Genesis 32:30 No contradiction. God, is a spirit. He's invisible. So, no one can really see Him......therefore, no one has really seen Him. He can, however, manifest Himself however He want - example, as the Burning Bush (Moses), or as man (Abraham).
  9. To find humor in an insult - especially nonsense - is preferable than getting into downright explosive anger! It's my way of "turning the other cheek." Heard of that phrase? Prov 9 8 Mockers stir up a city, but the wise turn away anger. Furthermore, this is a forum. Btw, have you seen Jesus in action when He was debating or involved in a heated discussion with the Pharisees? The reason behind their debate, isn't the same with ours, though. But just to show you that there's a difference between debating, and making conversations. Here's a sample: Matthew 22 The Pharisees: Is It Lawful to Pay Taxes to Caesar? 15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. 20 And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” 21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” I could envision an eye-roll at the end of that last statement.....or a "doh." I could hear what I imagine, to be frustration in His statement. It would be interesting to know the body-language of Jesus (or even His facial expression)! Since you've admitted that you've not followed the discussion - knowing what the issue is all about, should be your first step before you jump into any fray to give an opinion, or especially.......before you single out anyone to castigate. Not particularly Christ teaching, but just as sensible, no? Prov 29 20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.
  10. Clint Eastwood composed Kate's Theme (Absolute Power). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118548/soundtrack
  11. Hahahahahaha ...........whatever.
  12. You're entitled to your own belief. It's irrelevant though, to the discussion. Gosthacked was aiming to show contradiction in the Bible by giving that post along the context of Christian belief.
  13. I was reacting to your delusional bravado here: In the end - on JUDGEMENT DAY - you're not going to be judging God....He'll be judging you! The decision whether you need to be held accountable or not, won't be up to you. Your rationale shows you don't get the concept of God - that, He's not bound by any rules!
  14. In Nova Scotia, Trudeau had to explain again about the decision to compensate Khadr. People are aghast, Justin! And, rightly so. I want to know how you came up with the amount: $10.5 million! Explain that! The circumstances surrounding Khadr, isn't comparable with Arar's! http://www.citynews.ca/2007/01/26/maher-arar-accepts-ottawas-apology-and-10-5-million-compensation/ Maher Arar deserved the amount - and maybe even more - for what he's been through. Canada was directly responsible for the tragedy that had happened to him and his family! Maher Arar asked for $400 million. Khadr asked for $20 million. Do you see the big difference? And the Liberals gave both men the same amount of settlement: $10.5! Imagine that? They should've just given Khadr $1 million! If I were Arar right now, I'd be demanding for more! Why the heck do you equate me with someone like Khadr?
  15. You can spout off your protest and indignation with all the bravado you can muster........but anyone who understands the concept of God would just be rolling his eyes and your words come out sounding pathetic. Because, in the end, it won't be you who's going to decide whether you're accountable or not. You won't have any say about it.
  16. Don't get me wrong. I like the lack of moderation. However, I think it hurts the board when the post of someone bent on derailing a topic, is allowed to clutter the thread. It's up to the moderator to judge whether a post has to be removed, or moved where appropriate. What reader won't get fed up sifting and wading through pages of clutters? Especially when a poster keeps bringing up the same issue everywhere! How is this going to attract any new members? That's what they do in busy, high-traffic forums! They don't let loose "children" to have their fit however they please all over the board......mods guard the board so it won't eventually become dead!
  17. Deuteronomy 25 Marriage Duty of the Surviving Brother 5 “If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the widow of the dead man shall not be married to a stranger outside the family; her husband’s brother shall go in to her, take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. 6 And it shall be that the firstborn son which she bears will succeed to the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out of Israel. 7 But if the man does not want to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate to the elders, and say, ‘My husband’s brother refuses to raise up a name to his brother in Israel; he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.’ 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him. But if he stands firm and says, ‘I do not want to take her,’ 9 then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, spit in his face, and answer and say, ‘So shall it be done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house.’ 10 And his name shall be called in Israel, ‘The house of him who had his sandal removed.’ Another interesting article about Catherine. http://www.tudorhistory.org/aragon/
  18. According to this article, he used his knowledge of the Bible to get his way. I don't know much about Henry VIII. It's an interesting read. http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/tudor-england/henrys-divorce-from-catherine/
  19. IN THAT NUMBERING ABOVE, HOW MANY FIGHTING MEN WERE FOUND IN ISRAEL AND JUDAH? 2 Samuel 24 9 Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men. 1 Chron 21 5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword. No contradiction. The keyword is "valiant." The men numbered in 2 Samuel 24 were men with battle experience. The number given in 1 Chron 21 is the number of all men ready for battle. https://carm.org/bible-difficulties/joshua-esther/how-many-fighting-men-were-found-judah-and-israel Thus, the count is lower.

So-called contradictions that's been responded to: Metallicity (post #27, 79) Dinosaurs in Noah's Ark/How animals fit in the ark (posts #36, 64, 65) God making new stars and planets (post #78, 116) Problem with order of creation (post #108) Creation of the heavens and Genesis 1:14 (post #118) Bats not Birds (post #158, 161) Thou shalt nor murder (post #168) Judas hanging/bursting (post #169) ------------------------------------------------------------- Who incited David to number the fighting men of Israel? God? 2 Samuel 24:1 or Satan? I Chronicles 21:1 It's not a contradiction. https://www.apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=6&article=784
  21. Brainwashed idiots? Stop talking about conspiracy theorists like 9/11 truthers! This thread isn't for the brainwashed evil you talk about. This thread isn't about terrorist Islamists. http://www.salon.com/2013/04/25/tamerlan_tsarnaev_conspiracy_theorist/ And therefore, this thread is not about you, either! Go, get attention elsewhere. The Boston marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev (another looney 9/11 truther) happened to be an adherent of religion (Islam)........but it still doesn't belong in this topic.Doh. This thread is about contradictions in the Bible.
  22. Until there is evidence that the voting system was manipulated, that'll be fake information. https://www.voanews.com/a/ex-us-homeland-security-chief-says-russian-meddling-did-not-affect-election-results/3910023.html http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-russians-targeted-election-systems-in-1498059012-htmlstory.html
  23. Trump ran on the campaign under the banner of pro-life (remember what he said during the last debate with Hillary?).....and yet, he won. I think a lot of people are actually ambivalent about abortion, they're swept by the noise being made through political correctness. The Republicans has to bust political correctness....anyway, there are signs that show people getting fed up with it - another reason why Trump won! They can try to chip away at it.........who knows. Look at slavery.....it was later abolished.
