Whoa! You're getting personal here. Are you old enough to be on this forum? -

Just look at the way you reason, Michael. I'm pointing out the UNFAIRNESS of the accusations being levelled at Hal for speaking his mind, and expressing his opinion. You see nothing wrong with that? Instead of dealing with that issue - the point I was making about the accusation at Hal - you're trying to make it so that I'm siding with racists. I'm not downplaying anything......because there's nothing to downplay, Michael. Both sides in that rally had resorted to violence and hate. The footage speaks for themselves. Stop being an ostrich. Look at the facts! -

No Michael, you should educate yourself. Not everything is about racism and bigotry. While I can't deny that there are bigots and racists, I do see what so many "white" people are fighting for. You're all for erasing the history and identity of the "white" people, and yet you'd be up in arms fighting for the identity of a minority group who'd come to this place. The KKK and other deplorable Supremacists aren't many.......they are not a threat. Like anarchists, they infiltrate rallies and protests. Liberal thinkers like you, are the ones who are making these groups to become attractive, and to gain more followers. What best interest? Is losing rights and freedom - to appease certain groups - for the best interest of everyone? What you're seeing now, is the product of political correctness gone amuck and the failure of multi-culturalism! I came to Canada because I like the values and lifestyle of the Western world. Having been introduced to it by working among Americans in a military base, it's the kind of life I've wanted. A lot of us immigrants - like Tarek Fatah - are fighting for that, you know. It must be frustrating for some Muslims like Tarek Fatah, to see the evil that they'd fled from........gain a foothold on western soil. And I understand you are a "white" person. You do realize that there are non-whites who'll never see white people in a flattering light, no matter how nice you are to them....even though you fight for them? Both sides have their own bigots! I know. I could throw that right back at you. You think you're safe from some minority groups should they gain clout, or become the majority? -

Whoa. How is that defending the KKK and Nazism? Even if it's true that Trump's father was involved with the Klan in the past.......that doesn't mean that Trump is, therefore, supporting the KKK and Nazism. And it's true that the murder was not premeditated - that's why the driver is charged with second-degree murder! -
What happens next door almost, always ends up happening here. Right on the heels of Charlottesville rally, a nationalist group had announced a rally on September at the University of Toronto. Right wing extremism is on the rise - which shouldn't come as a surprise. I've been saying it for a decade now, that the pendulum tend to swing from one extreme end to the other. Extreme left wing ideology and extreme right wing. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/university-of-toronto-nationalist-rally-1.4247068

If that's the only excuse he has.....he's truly pathetic as a mayor. He should be booted out! His stupidity caused needless deaths, you know. Who said anything about stopping assemblies? Let them rally and do their protest.......just not on the very same location, doh! I saw it on tv. The footage don't lie. There was violence and hatred from both sides. Maybe you should sit down, and think things through. -

Charlottesville saw what happened the night before...... ....and yet, it was allowed to go on the next day. .....and the mayor of Charlottesville blames Trump. Is he daft? And he has the gall to go spouting off on national tv. It happened on your watch, Mr. Mayor. It was preventable. It shouldn't have happened.....but it did. You let it happened. -

........and with those people - mostly hot-headed, impulsive youth - who knows how many among them were armed with gun....... it's amazing that no one resorted to a shoot-out what with all that hatred flying around! It's one guy who'd lost it that rammed that car. How many among them were stoned, I wonder? I saw the footage. That there's only one casualty, is surprising with this kind of situation. It could've been a whole lot worse! Charlottesville officials have a lot of explaining to do why they let this kind of violence to continue on to the next day! There should've been drastic changes after that violent confrontation the night before. -

So there were people carrying guns. Are only right-wingers the ones carrying guns? Were shots fired? Is it wrong to wear body armors in an event such as this? Heck, just getting hit by flying projectiles can be deadly. The buck stops with Charlottesville authorities for not having the foresight to see this happening! They already had a taste of it the night before......and they still let these two groups converge at the same location. What were they thinking? Oh....and that Dem (mayor) even blamed the right wingers for the death of the two in a helicopter crash - who "needlessly died" because of this incident. It's not the fault of the protesters if the helicopter crashed, unless it was shot down from the sky by the protesters, buster! -

That's the way it is with left wingers. As you can see from some of the posts here - they're all ignoring the fact that the left wing protesters were as guilty as the right-wing in committing acts of hate and violence. -

It's not the right to free expression that's at fault. It's the "mob mentality." -

Yeah, stopping the escalation is the job of leaders. That's why I blame the Charllotesville authorities for this! Why have these two groups at the same location? -

Bullies, Michael. Bullies. Left wing who went to a Republican campaign to disrupt. And if you use logic......the left wing wanted to disrupt the Republican rally because they disagree with Trump's message. -

I don't know from what looking glass you're seeing this.....but I'd say, your view is quite so distorted. Left wing trouble-makers had come to his rally to disrupt his right at campaigning. Trump, if anything else, was simply showing us how to handle bullies! That's emerging as a pattern. isn't it? Left wing, as instigators for trouble! If you want to really point fingers on who's deceitfully instigated and promoted racial division, it's Obama. -

We're not talking about Trump's rally. That's another issue for another thread! You sound like the fake-news media! FYI. We had division during Obama's. Have you forgotten Black Lives Matter? Look back in history. Racial tensions was always there. It didn't start with Trump. The left wing had shown fascism! Here's another definition, according to merriam. Fascism: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control The left are the ones who love to dictate. Legislate this and that! Heck, they even want to dictate to you in your own home, to accept what they want you to accept, to believe what they want you to believe.......they want to control you how to live your life! They also want to control when, and where you die! They use propaganda through the media! They're FASCISTS! -

Some people with twisted logic condemn Trump for supporting supremacists! Why do they say Trump supports Supremacists? Because Supremacists supported and voted for Trump! Say again? If a pedophile voted for you......does that mean you support pedophilia. Or, you're a pedophile yourself? I never heard of any candidate saying in his campaign: pedophiles, don't vote for me! Was Trump supposed to have said, "ultra-right, don't even think of voting for me!" DOH! Left wing only shows there's a dysfunction in their thinking! -
The Battle of Charlottesville

I watched the news - they showed footage several times! Both sides committed violence. And I say, from what I see.....the left wing were there trying to intimidate the ultra-right. Anyone who can't understand that Trump was simply stating facts, is terribly biased. When you label someone "fascist" - or anything derogatory - for simply stating a view that you don't agree with - that's bigotry! Hate and bigotry - was exhibited by both sides! -

It's not a speculation to say the leftwing came to riot. They were there to COUNTER! Violence was inevitable! Charlottesville officials should've seen that coming. -

It's part of history. That's what some are protesting about: erasing history. It may be an ugly part of history.....but that's your country's history. One would have a very tepid identity as a people, when your history is edited to suit the currenty clime. Before you know it, you've got none! -
