  1. Well...if we are going to attack Stephen Harper's "approach to any policy challenge", then let's look at the facts. Fact: Liberals champion them selves as Environmentalists, and the ideal party to curb Global Warming. Fact: Under the Liberals Green House Gas Emissions rose by nearly 33% Fact: Stephane Dion has been "celebrated as a hero", or so he says Fact: The Left-Wing Liberals have no policy to lower Green House Gas Emissions...what they do have is a NEW TAX. The Left has always been about raising taxes, or introducing new taxes. If Dion really cared about the high taxation of Canada then why doesn't he lower income taxes without bringing in a new tax. The truth is he doesn't care about Canadians. He is a "Peterson" style Tax-and-Spend doctrine follower. All the Liberals know is how to tax us. Here a tax. There a tax. My God, as John Lennon said they would even try to "tax our feet". Liberals...is there anything they won't tax?

  3. Yes, they did raise the Lowest Income Tax bracket by .5%, but they lowered it back to 15% in their latest budget. Child Care is terrible policy? I suppose you support Socialist Day Care...where parents have their children raised by strangers. Canada has become such a welfare state, it's disgusting. ALL our money should NOT go to the damn government!!! If we had more money in our pockets, we could spend for ourselves- whether it be Health Care, or Day Care. I do not support this Socialist argument of the State raising our children. Before we know it there will be little Jack Layton's walking around!! (Scary thought)
  4. In my opinion, I see Tory policies as being more in line with traditional Canadian values. Cutting the GST by 2%...who's going to complain about that while there buying that brand new Hummer? The Left always follow policies that will benefit the Left, not Canadians as a whole. The Progressive Conservative Party was always about uniting. Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney, Stephen Harper all follow the principle of standing up for all Canadians, regardless of personal interest. This is why populism is great. If the majority of the populous clearly wants to be governed a certain way, they deserve to be governed rightfully. If I am casting my ballot for a Conservative candidate, and a Liberal Majority wins- that should not give them a free ride to bring in their narrow minded left wing/socialist agenda. Good governance should trump political interests. To prove my point, I find it suspicious how the NDP and Bloc are able to pass there private Members bill threw 3rd reading, with support of Liberals of course. Let's go back to the 90's, when the Reform Party had official opposition status. I cannot recall the NDP or Bloc, or the Liberals, helping them get their Private Members bills through. Why...??? The Left supports the left. They believe that political interest in better then good policy.
  5. Good policy is good policy. I don't understand why the Liberal party attacks the Conservatives as being, so called "Ideological" and "Right Wing", when they are simply proposing generally good policy. Lowering Taxes and reducing spending is good policy. Why does the Left resist the Progressive Tory policy's of the 21st century? The old Peterson days of the Tax-and-Spend doctrine proved to be disastrous. Why do Liberals stick to this narrow, 20th century mind frame!
  6. I don't think Governments have the right to bring in Massive Tax Hikes, period. They should learn to cut their spending or invest more strategically to come up with more money. The average tax payer is sick and tired of Governments increasing spending, and then crying when the well runs dry. Lower spending=no new taxes. LOW spending=cutting taxes NO spending=NO TAXES!
  7. Borg, I appreciate your comments, and it is very refreshing to hear some wisdom on this board for once. Thanks for the heads up on "GC", he/she is clearly a Liberal and will support Dion's policies no matter what they are.
  8. You avoiding my argument simply shows your lack of knowledge on this issue. Most experts agree there is no such thing as Revenue Neutral tax shifting. But there is something called a TAX HIKE! This is clearly a tax hike and Canadians will pass their judgment in the upcoming election.
  9. Wow...u are either naive or stupid. Liberals. Were talking Liberals. Liberals have never met a tax they don't like. You believe Stephane will give an Income Tax cut of $100 a month... simply absurd. Even if they gave Income Tax rebates it would never amount to that much. A Carbon tax, on the other hand, could easily cost $100 a month on your heating/hydro and gasoline.
  10. Wow...I can laugh at this one. I suppose you would like to defend the "tax shifting" that went on in the 1994 budget...when the GST was NOT abolished as was promised? Conservatives have dismissed Tax shifting as a complete hoax. How does it make sense to pay $100 more a month on fuel and heating, but save $15 on income tax. What a sham.
  11. ..............No thoughts....any one?.............................
  12. Mr. Dion: It's been nearly 90 years since the "War Measures Act", and since Prime Minister Borden introduced Income Tax in Canada. Will a Liberal Government ever move in the direction of repealing/abolishing Income Tax altogether, and if not why?
  13. As the Liberal Leadership convention drew to a close, the remaining three candidates clearly came from each point of the political triangle. On the left was Bob Rae. A former socialist democrat who followed the 'tax and spend' doctrine which nearly crippled Ontario's economy. On the right was Michael Ignatieff. This former Harvard professor supported George Bush's invasion of Iraq, and apparently didn't "lose any sleep" over Israel's war with Hezbollah. And in the middle was Stephane Dion. Clearly a moderate Liberal who voted against Same-Sex Marriage twice. The Liberal delegates made their choice: Mr. Centre, Stephane Dion. Since becoming leader, Mr. Dion was clearly shifted him self more to the left, aligning him self with most of his caucus. A self proclaimed "hero", Stephane champions the environment and his record as environment minister. The left has always been more environmentally friendly. Though...it is note worthy to mention that Green House Gases rose by nearly 33% under the Liberals in the '90s. Carbon Tax...? Mr. "Hero" now believes the best way to save the environment is to impose a new tax on all Canadians, including business and industry. Already hard hit is the manufacturing sector with thousands of job loses. Could Stephane possibly believe that a new tax will help solve this crisis? And what about Seniors on fixed incomes? Surely they cannot afford another regressive tax. Then there is the lowest earners and the middle class. Already hard hit by the highest Income Tax rates in the developed world, the poor and the middle class do not need another tax forced upon them. With gasoline prices at record levels, could Canadians possibly support a new tax that will drive their heating bills through the roof? Not a chance... This is a stunt. This is a sham. The Liberals are planning on losing the next election. They pray that the Tories will only win another Minority Government, giving the Liberals time to head into another leadership race, where Mr. Left and Mr. Right will duke it out for the top job. The Carbon Tax will fall off the table and Stephane will be forgotten. He will grace history's pages as being one of the few Liberal leaders who did not become Prime Minister. It's a shame when a National party which dates back nearly 150 years has to resort to these games. I thank God every day I am not a Liberal.
  14. Wow...I'm back! If any one remembers me Im the super Conservative dude that used to always put down Layton and praise Harper. Man I haven't been on in a year or so! Anyways...back to business. Does any one know the history of the PST in Ontario? Which government brought it in...what year, what party ect. And why is it at a whopping 8%??? Was it always that high?? And how come it is never a campaign issue...such as the GST in 2006?? You would think the PC party would be in favor of lowering it...unless they brought it in originally?? Anyways, your help would be great! Thanks guys! I'm Back!

  16. 1) Do not be FOOLED by Global Warming Scientists. Go on over to YOUTUBE and watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle". There is where the truth comes out, and the truth "will set you free". 2) David Suzuki is a MASON, and quite possibly apart of the Illuminati and there global effort for a NEW WORLD ORDER. 3) There is one way to stop the Illuminati. We need to get the government, and all Political parties, off our butts about the environment. There was a time when Stephen Harper KNEW the truth: "Global Warming is a Socialist plot to put rich countries into recession". Where has his wisdom gone!? He had it right, and now he is being brainwashed by these damn Liberal Scientists who are all MASONS, and most likely in the Illuminati or Skulls and Bones (eg. Bush, Kerry, Edwards) Global Warming is a sham. End of story.
  17. Suzuki is the Illuminatis greatest pupet. If Suzuki was in charge, we would follow Kyoto, plunge our economy in recession and the Socialist New World Order would come to pass... Is he the anti-Christ?
  18. If Harper wins a Majority what can Canada expect?
  19. Hold on......I have a mustache, a big gut, a big nose and I look like an idiot...... Ottawa, Here I come....... lol!
  20. I just noticed that Layton has a mustache, Harper has a big gut, Duceppe has a big nose, and Dion looks like an idiot. Weird.
  21. Given that a dead frog would make a better choice that mcguinty, that isn't a ringing endorsement. Infact, not ebing a head of the liberals is an idictment on the former cable guy. His best chance of winning the elelction is to get a negative voting bill passed...sort of like Rogers Negative billing fiasco, unless you indicate you don't want Tory, you do. I am a huge John Tory supporter. I think he is very honest and has charisma. But this thread needs further discussion. We need to elaborate on the fact that Tory is indeed a "blue Liberal" and Harper is "harper". If Harper gets a Majority this spring, and Tory gets his Majority in October- what kind of Policy's will be born? If if if...........Are you suggesting Tory will sell out Ontario for the greater glory of Harper? Anyway, I doubt he will get a majority, he can't win Toronto, in fact, he is vunerable anywhere Rogers has a wire.... Well...srry but your wrong. When Tory ran for Mayor of Toronto he got nearly 300,000 votes and came in second place. He is definitely going to win his seat. Besides, thats not the debate here.

  23. The latest polls in Ontario clearly indicate that John Tory and his revived PC Party have a clear shot at beating Mcguinty. (The latest numbers have them only 3 points behind the Libs). So, would John "Red" Tory be a good sidekick to Mr. Blue himself- Harper. Would their policies coincide or contradict?
  24. How could Garth Turner talk about selling out? He sold his soul to Stephane 'Satan' Dion. He almost sold his soul to Liz May and Jack the stache. How dare he. He spent his entire life fighting against liberals and now he is a liberal. Who is the real sellout?
  25. I'm growing fonder of George as the days go on. His interview with David Wilkins impressed me. It was respectful, his questions were well researched and he didn't go after him unfairly. I see Strombo as a lot like Jian Ghomeshi they fit the *hip* *happening* *now* *wow* look that the CBC insists on, but they don't seem to be buying into the left-wing ideology that is persuasive in that newsroom. As long as they ask fair questions and do the job real, objective journalists should do then it isn't a problem. Jule Van Dusen are you listening? That means no stalking MPs into toilet stalls. I slightly disagree. I am a fan of George, dont get me wrong. But when he had belinda stronach on she was running off tons of liberal b-s and george didn't step in once. she also said 'no one can break up a happy marriage' in response too the adultery claims (whore) and george agreed with her. so i think he is still very much left wing, mabye a tad more moderate now.
