Is It even possible to revoke anyone's citizenship against the person's wishes? -
Foreign interference in Canadian politics

Why would anyone want to interfere in the Canadian elections? And yes, I know, Finnish elections are even less important but still. -
A new referendum defeated in parliament. That's good news!

Africa may work at a tribe-level but never at a country-level. -
Extension would be the worst option. People are fed up with this mess and want it over and done with.

It seems that MPs are persuaded to back a deal which they dont even want but they prefer a lousy deal to no deal at all. Theresa May may still lose the vote. If she loses she will have to go. No choice there.

Made me actually think; even though the British and the French have divided Africa half for each and therefore English and French are the dominant languages in the respective countries but how many people in Africa speak English or French as their first language? Not that many. English and French are languages which bind together different tribes which all have their first languages. When as with Spanish in South- and Central-America is the dominant language. Yes, there are still surviving indigenous languages but Spanish reigns supreme. -
18 days to go and still no deal. They better get going by now.

Carter vs Ted Kennedy in 1980 was the last time when an incumbent president had a serious challenge within his own party.

Even though Trump has said that he will seek re-election I think he will chicken out if he is not 100% sure of winning.

The Spanish wiped out an entire continent in terms of population-replacement. Nobody else has come even remotely close. -
If the economy is doing badly do you blame the federal government or your provincial government?

America under President Trump

It's still early days. In 1991 in the aftermath of the Gulf-War Bush sr enjoyed approval-ratings above 90% and the Democrats were adviced not to bother to run against him. However, the next year people had forgotten about the war and Bush's promise "read my lips, no new taxes" was beginning to bite his arse as he introduced new taxes. -

These people are only pleading to come back because isis and the caliphate have collapsed. Otherwise they would be happy to continue their life in their chosen utopia. -
Isnt Trudeau currently in the middle of political crisis which may force him out of office?

Yesterday was an election-day in Estonia. A party called EKRE finished third. The party campaigned on an anti-immigration platform. Some people say that was strange that the issue was so big in Estonia as the country supposedly has next to none immigrants. People who say that dont seem to remember that about 1/3 of the population of Estonia are ethnic Russians who were transfered there during the Soviet times. Another thing what people said was strange about the popularity of EKRE was that it was the most popular party among expat-Estonians. People who have emigrated support a party which opposes immigration. It sound funny but given that most Estonian expats live in Finland and Sweden and they have first-hand seen what unfettered third-world immigration does to a country and they dont want that to happen to Estonia. What does this rant have to do with the thread-title refugees in Canada? Little or nothing really. My apologies for that. I considered this thread the most relevant for that purpose.

In Sweden they had a referendum in 1980 in which the electorate voted to give up nuclear energy. Sweden is yet in the process of carrying out the outcome of that referendum.

How do you know what media/sources to trust?
-TSS- replied to JamesHackerMP's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Do you still have a TV-licence which you can refuse to pay? We used to have it but now the state-propaganda is funded straight from taxation. In this age of the internet many people would stop paying for being brainwashed. -

Bring ISIS fighters back to Canada??
-TSS- replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Has this issue surfaced following the news-story about the ISIS-bride who wants to return "home" to the UK after ISIS has been destroyed? The British government has revoked her UK-citizenship and has said she is not welcome back. However, as the UK-law states that nobody can be made stateless through revocation of the UK-citizenship she may have to be accepted back to the UK even though she is a poisonous snake who is a real threat if and when she returns to the UK. Countries such as Iraq dont take back their own deported citizens, which is against all international laws but different laws seem to apply to different countries. Perhaps even the Iraqis have understood that receiving Iraqis is not a good idea. -

All the more reason you shouldnt hand out citizenships too lightly. For one thing, dual citizenship shouldnt be allowed. -

Unlike countries such as Iraq which refuses to accept its own deported citizens back we have no choice but to take back those who carry our passports. Having said that, this particular problem highlights the importance of exercising good judgement as to whom citizenship is awarded to. Citizenship should be more difficult to get than some supermarket bonus-cards. -

Why is there so much media-hype about this Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Ok, she is a youngish woman and not terribly ugly either so it is easy to understand why she is such a pet of the media. However, AOC is a first-term HOR-member but judging by the media-coverage one would think that she is a very important leader of the Democrats. -
Tensions rising between Pakistan and India
-TSS- replied to GostHacked's topic in The Rest of the World
How are they allied these days? In the era of the cold war India was close to the Soviets and Pakistan to the Americans.
